Hello Critter, C where can i find more information regarding the store state between C sessions on the filter tab for virtual folders? If it is checked VF saves which message were in it before close so after program restart no additional filtering needed. **AHAAA***!!! Finally got hold of tech support today and they say my ISP *has* changed its servers--which it did *not* tell us when Geek Son called. Now it requires you to download email from your ISP-based email account before it will allow you to send anything through someone else's server. Since I hardly ever use my ISP's email account and generally send through the fastmail server, this would explain it. If, after this telnet authorization expires, it works, I'll let you know. Problem with Outgoing Filter - message not leaving Outbox despite being sent.
I wanted to know if it's possible to send a message with an attachment to a recipient and send a copy of the same message without the attachment to someone else at the same time. After a bit of trial and error I found I could do this with a filter and both messages were sent as wanted. BeginFilter Name: tester Active: 1 Source: \\gmx\Outbox Target: \\gmx\Sent CopyFolder: none MainSet: 20File attached Actions: faFwdMsg,faoFwdNoAttach AddGroups: DelGroups: ForwardTemplate: ConfirmTemplate: ReplyTemplate: FwdAddr: yobunny [EMAIL PROTECTED] RedirectAddr: NewAddr: NewTemplate: ExtCmd: ExtFile: ExtractDir: ColourGroup: default AddAddrItems: afiFrom, DelAddrItems: afiFrom, HotKey: 0 IsOfColour: default SizeBigger: 0 SizeSmaller: 0 AgeOlder: 0 AgeNewer: 0 InAddrPos: 0 OutAddrPos: 0 InAddrGroups: NoAddrGroups: KillFile: KillMethod: 0 SaveTemplate: SndFile: SysSound: 0 SoundTime: 0:00-0:00 AllowTime: 0:00-0:00 EndFilter However, when I checked the Outbox the copy message without the attachment had been put into the Outbox again with a FWD prefix before the subject line, and on pressing F2 it is sent again, but still stays in the Outbox and acquires another FWD in front of the subject. Every time I do a mail check/send this happens... I've not deleted the message from the Outbox as I wanted to find the cause of the problem before I do. So far the subject line reads like this: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: File attached and the message text keeps being added to the outgoing message so it now reads like this: ,- [ Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: File attached ] | I am forwarding this message to you because | | | This is a forwarded message | From: Anne [EMAIL PROTECTED] | To: yobunny [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2004, 12:44:22 PM | Subject: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: File attached | | ===8==Original message text=== | I am forwarding this message to you because | | | This is a forwarded message | From: Anne [EMAIL PROTECTED] | To: yobunny [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2004, 11:02:50 AM | Subject: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: File attached | | ===8==Original message text=== | I am forwarding this message to you because | | | This is a forwarded message | From: Anne [EMAIL PROTECTED] | To: yobunny [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2004, 11:00:40 AM | Subject: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: File attached | | ===8==Original message text=== | I am forwarding this message to you because | | | This is a forwarded message | From: Anne [EMAIL PROTECTED] | To: yobunny [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2004, 1:19:24 AM | Subject: Fwd: Fwd: File attached | | ===8==Original message text=== | I am forwarding this message to you because | | | This is a forwarded message | From: Anne [EMAIL PROTECTED] | To: yobunny [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2004, 1:17:54 AM | Subject: Fwd: File attached | | ===8==Original message text=== | I am forwarding this message to you because | | | This is a forwarded message | From: Anne [EMAIL PROTECTED] | To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2004, 1:14:56 AM | Subject: File attached | | ===8==Original message text=== | Hi Docwra, | | attached file as requested | | -- | Cheers, | Anne | | Flying high with The Bat! v2.12.00 http://www.ritlabs.com/en/ | | | | ===8===End of original message text=== | ===8===End of original message text=== | ===8===End of original message text=== | ===8===End of original message text=== | ===8===End of original message text=== | ===8===End of original message text=== `- Can anyone tell me where the problem may lie please? Hallo Anne, On Thu, 5 Aug 2004 20:56:59 +0100GMT (5-8-2004, 21:56 +0200, where I live), you wrote: A I wanted to know if it's possible to send a message with an A attachment to a recipient and send a copy of the same message A without the attachment to someone else at the same time. Well, that's possible. A After a bit of trial and error I found I could do this with a A filter and both messages were sent as wanted. Ah yes, I see you found that out. A However, when I checked the Outbox the copy message without the A attachment had been put into the Outbox again with a FWD prefix A before the subject line, Yes, that's the first copy, that'll have FWD: before the subject, bercause it's a forwarded. A and on pressing F2 it is sent again, Nono, it's sent for the first time, the resending bit comes later. A but still stays in the Outbox and acquires another FWD in front of A the subject. Actually that's a copy of your forwarded copy, since your filter checks for something in the subject line and your forwarded copy has that 'trigger text' in the subject, so it'll trigger the filter again and again. A Every time I do a mail check/send this happens... And so you found out. ;-) You can prevent this behaviour by adding an additional condition. That might be that the text 'fwd' is not present in the subject line, or that there has to be an attachment (that's an option at the 'Advanced' tab) or that the message isn't directed to yobunny. BayesIT whitelist errors and questions
Hi, I have created a few whitelist items for BayesIT 0.5.9. When I go back to the config, I see that they have errors. All I am told is that there are syntax errors and that I must fix them. So, this is what I do. If I want to whitelist a sender, I pick to and then pick Matches or Equals and then the email address. I am not sure the difference between matches and equals, since there is no help or documentation, but both return an error after I close and come back. I do not get an error if I choose any and contains and the email address, but this is not very specific and allows spam holes, I think. So, please explain the options and the proper syntax.
