Then, in the address book, focus on the relevant book (group) and select

I was trying that out now, and that really works (after figuring out that I

One question. The mail body itself will always be the same, just some
announcement that a new info is coming along. But how could I automate the
progress of attaching the PDF I want to sent along? I thought I could set up a
specific folder and then just have TB attach anything it finds in that folder?
I would then just have to copy the PDF(s) into it first. Would that be
possible? Or would I have to always give a full path with filename?

I think you need to provide a path to a file - like:

%PUT=path\to\textfile.txt

Here, the content will be shown in the body of the mail.

Or %ATTACHFILE = filepath which attaches the file specified in the
path. Of course, you need to overwrite the old file with a file with the
same name but with the new contents.

I think it is probably more elegant to have contents in the body of the
mail, but that's just me.

I had initially had it working. This was when I had previously had PGP8
installed, and then ran the PGP9 installation without first uninstalling
 PGP8.

Same problem, I just tried it. The Bat! also looks for a txt file rather
than an xml file. PGP9 now works fine with TB!

I see what you mean Allie about the whole PGP program popping up just to
verify a message.

To get PGP9 working with TB! you need to create a text file called
PGPprefs.txt

In that file needs to be the path to your PGP keyring in this format, each
line needs to be on one whole line:

PublicKeyringFile=C:\Documents and Settings\Tony\My
Documents\PGP\pubring.pkr
PrivateKeyringFile=C:\Documents and Settings\Tony\My
Documents\PGP\secring.skr

Edit the paths to your own name obviously. Then save that file to Docs and
Settings\Username\Application data\PGP corporation\PGP\PGPprefs.txt

RIT Labs need to update the pgp.dll to look for an xml pref file as well as
a txt pref file.

That's for you to decide. I got fed up with all the agro I was getting with

attempt to get some stability from PGP I fully bought and paid for PGP9

There are a few things I don't like, I prefer pre v9 tray right click menu,
with v9 you have to open the whole program to get to PGPkeys and verifying
in TB! opens the whole program interface as well. Apart from that I like
it.

File folders, USB drives, and other such things.

2005-05-24 Thread Nick Danger
I've run across a bit of an oddball thing in running a home and work
installation of TB! My work program stores all pertinent info and
files in the main /the bat folder, while my home install stores the
same files in the /mail folder.

Anyone have any ideas what would cause that or what value I need to
tweak to change it?

Here's some background of what I'm trying to accomplish:

I want to run two separate instances of TB! (home and work) but keep
the message files in one location - on a USB drive stick. I think it
would work if I can get both installs to look on their local /the bat
folder for the required files. Maybe.

If anyone has already accomplished this and has any tips I'd love to
hear them! It kind of works now but every time I start up the home
application it creates all the files in the USB /mail folder that my
work install keeps in the main /the bat folder. If I could get it to
stop that I think I'd be in like Flint.

Options | Preferences | System

The Mail Directory option defines where TB creates all the mail
account files (by default). You can also specify accounts to store
their information in a different location by right clicking on an
account, and going to properties. In the properties dialog, you can
look at the Files and Directories option.

[Different /the bat /mail storage]

IIRC Ritlabs changed the main storage folder due to user request some
time ago. Depending when you installed your work/home versions
different defaults were used by installation.

I want to run two separate instances of TB! (home and work) but keep
the message files in one location - on a USB drive stick.

You can change the storage folder in Options - Preferences - System
 - Mail Directory. If you have the same drive-letter for your USB stick
at work and at home (and the same accounts of course :-) ) that should
do the trick (in both installations of course).

Otherwise you could put TB! on the USB stick itself too and run the
tool DynBat to start TB!.

This is the method I use for myself right now. I copied my working
installation from home to the USB stick and now it's nice to have one
instance of TB! on different computers.

There are a few things I don't like, I prefer pre v9 tray right click

 from that I like it.

Maybe this will be a cue for TB! to start auto-checking PGP signatures.
It's really about time it began doing this. The usability of PGP/GnuPG
makes a huge leap with that.

May as well return the card. You're still vulnerable and really can't
be sure that your card was compromised on the Internet.

 PGP9 was assimilated. ;)

No problem for The Caribbean English Alliance. Now where's that big bad
black Jedi geezer with the funny torch, we'll sort him out next :)

Did you get the file I sent by the way?

Sorry to come and go but I have found I do not have time at present to
usefully contribute to lists at present so must disappear.

I will be back.!!!

Meanwhile thanks to everyone for the great help you have given me as a
new The Bat! user and good luck to Stefan et al with a great (but
complicated) product,.

I want to run two separate instances of TB! (home and work) but keep

Check to see if this might give you some ideas:

2005-05-24 Thread Jeff Gaines
Hello Group

I'm still struggling a bit with this plugin (v 0.8.1).

It seems to regard everything as spam except this list, which I've
managed to whitelist. It's a pain because I am selling my first item
on eBay and I'm getting some questions. Instead of going through my
inbox and deleting junk I'm going through the junk folder un-deleting
stuff that isn't junk :-(

Any recommendations as to the best way to make it a bit less
aggressive?
