Re: (Selective) Selective Download Filter
It is said that Martin Schuster concocted the following rebuttal : ' M> Hello Robert, >> Martin Schuster waved a wand then said : ' M> hehe, did I? ;-) indeed, you did, then the message turned to a frog. M> An example maybe says more: I have a selective download filter M> "Subject contains any of [some typical spam words]" with action M> "kill". yes. OK. I made a test; subject contains xyzzy then KILL. but, this is seemingly useless in that the offending message remains on server (forever) also noted, as said before, the statistics tab never indicates if the filter was tried. All remains a zero. I was able to see that (using dispatcher window) that the Read became unchecked. And as I said, that particular test message is still on my server having been neither D/L'd not deleted by the dispatcher. So, in any case, I still have to manually deal with a server-side message that I do not want not like. And, I still can not select for a gross size and delete them. I see, on my server right now, ten or eleven half-meg fido pictures from nice people who can not slenderize their mega-pixel shots of their lovable dogs . then ship them as attachments to a list I am (was) on. So, IMHO , Selective Download is pointless in that she has no teeth and can only wave noodles at server-side emails rather than a fully charged Wand backed by a book with excellent spells therein. -- Regards, Robert D. :flag-us-ky: _ The Bat! Recently, my communications in Esperanto have increased to such a volume that I no longer wish to spellcheck them by hand. Is there any way to have The Bat! do the red squiggly spellchecking in Esperanto? Failing that, is there any way at all to spellcheck in Esperanto? Only then would the read flag be unchecked in dispatcher. So I think your result is correct: none of the mails was filtered (why "tested" is not incremented I don't know). An example maybe says more: I have a selective download filter "Subject contains any of [some typical spam words]" with action "kill". So if any mail contains one of those words its read flag is deactivated in dispatcher by default. Works 100% here.
