Exchange help

2007-01-25 Thread Peter Fjelsten

Hello

I am new to the Exchange protocol (I have been accessing the Exchange
server at work via IMAP and here it works as expected. However, IMAP
is no premitted at my work), so a couple of things puzzle me:

If I manipulate mail (move, delete, etc) in Outlook 2003, the
manipulations carry over to TB. But if I manipulate in TB, the
manipulations do not carry over to Outlook. Why?

Why do mail in the Outbox not carry over between profiles?

If I select Delete from server when having fetched mail, will the
mail also be deleted from Outlook?

Is the TB Exchange protocol broken?

I have set up Exchange in TB to use the profile I use in Outlook and
leave mail on the server.

Hello Chris,

You mean the developers cannot force time into another dimension? :-)

Oh yes! They can, they all do it every day. When they say that something
will be ready in 2 weeks, the dimension converter will tell you that
in normal persons' dimension this means 2 or 7 months ;)

I don't think so because AFAIK it's not a bug, it's WAD for RTV.

So, of course then the boxes disappear.

No pictures called, ever again, then? Bummer. :(

Off to write an entry in The Bat! Wishes at BT, then, simply for the

Fully working HTML presented to TB! users, but no Smiley .msl

Stay tuned for new thread.

But, the developers, so far, are not commenting on this strange

I am going to file a bug report.

Reason:

Alexander S. Kunz tried to post to this thread, but it didn't come
through for some reason, so he sent me a PM.

Alex did a custom install of v. 3.95.08 msi, and chose to install only
the .exe.

Then he put his reserved Smiley files back in manually.

The Smiley icons and pictures show just fine for him.

My conclusion: the complete msi install package has a bug in it.

Maxim has evidently not understood this, from the discussions that I
read on TBBETA.

If he doesn't get alerted, the situation could continue right on
through the next release.

I'm going to file a bug report now. Stay tuned. I'll be back with a
new thread here, afterward.

Leif, when you get time, could you do a complete msi install of this,
over the version you're presently running:

http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/thebat_pro_3-95-08.msi

Just to test.

Afterwards, perhaps you would have time to put a support note at:

Would be much appreciated and rate a  or a :bearhug: from me and

It's from tbbeta mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

The changes mentioned relate to Windows Vista Manager, to label
placement in the SMTP authentication dialogue, and a larger window for
the installation wizard.

That's it. Not a word about Smileys or tags.

So, I think something else inadvertently got done in writing the msi
version.

Thanks a mil!

I think that's it exactly. My guess would be that smileys breaking is
the result of a half-finished feature. I'm using the txt2html.regexps
trick to turn some external image links into links to images on my
hard drive. This quit working along with the smileys, so it's not
just the .msl mechanism that broke. If Ritlabs is really working on
enabling selected external image links, perhaps smileys will resume
working when they're done.

Strange they've been silent on this topic.

What's annoying is that every time I must re-select which address books I want
to back up.

I don't understand why I can't set a default for which address books I want
backed up--with the option to change them if I want.

Instead, I'm given some option by TheBat! which I must uncheck (Intermediate
CA--I have no idea what that is and don't use it) and then re-check the ones I
want.

Why does the utility not give me the option of setting the address book backup
defaults?

Re: Backup and Address Books

2007-01-25 Thread Akebono Translation Service
Dear Mike,

I regularly use the backup utility of The Bat! to backup my mail files.
What's annoying is that every time I must re-select which address books I
 want to back up.

I *think* the last selection is automatically remembered if you back-up using
the scheduler, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Best regards,

Loek van Kooten
