Re:When senders names are separated by commas

Hello Roelof,

On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, Roelof Otten wrote and made these points
on the subject of When senders names are separated by commas:

AT I wonder if there is a way to remove the comma when replying so that
AT the message becomes in the standard format TB! understands. Maybe
AT some regexp to do that?

RO Simply tell your contact to properly configure his mail client.

Thank you for your explanation. Now I got it clear what Jens
wanted to say earlier. However, I receive such formatted emails
from my banks and other corporate correspondents. To request them
to change the way they format their name is next to impossible.

I was wondering if it is possible to have some templates which
would strip out the comma from sender's name when I reply. TB!
is very powerful and I believe a comma won't be a hurdle to
 strip out, right?

RO %To=''%To='%OFromName %OFromAddress'%

Thank you for your input. However, I can't get it working. In
my opinion, since you use %OFromName, I think it will insert the
comma because TB! considers the comma to be part of the name in
the original message but when sending, it considers it as two
addresses. Correct me if I am wrong here.

 Thank you.

RA But as Roelof pointed out, if the name with the comma in it is enclosed in
RA quotes () it will not cause a problem. What he has suggested will do that.

Thank you Robin, Roelof and Jens. I got it to work finally!

Replying to Arabic subject

2009-02-25 Thread Assad Kety
Hello All,

I noticed that when I reply to a message with Arabic characters in the
subject line, the characters turn into a series of question marks like
this: Re: ??? ?? ?? ? ?

I would like to grasp the opportunity to ask another question
regarding reply to html messages. If I received a message in html with
emoticons, the emoticons are not shown in the reply. How can I make
them appear in the reply as well?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Options-Preferences-Viewer/Editor-Message Headers and then, edit

M header (for example for To header).

Thanks. That's done the trick.

Hello Roelof,

On Sunday, August 31, 2008, Roelof Otten wrote and made these points
on the subject of Speaking of signatures:

RO As Thomas wrote you, cookies are seen as text, compare %cookie with
RO the %put macro.

Indeed Thomas pointed this limitation of the cookie macro to me in an
 earlier message

RO However I see two options that might work for you:
RO 1 Set every cookie in a separate file, list those files in your
RO cookie.txt and call your cookie like this:
RO %QInclude=%Cookie='%cookie'txt'

I tried this method, but somehow I could not get it to work.

RO 2 Set all your cookies in a single file
RO Use the %Run macro from the mymacros plugin to call an external
RO randomiser like kookiejar that Gary mentioned in
RO mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] to store a signature in a
RO file called cookie.tpl
RO And call that cookie.tpl as a template with %Qinclude
RO As I wrote those options 'might' work, I didn't try them, but I think
RO they'd both do the job.

I prefer not to use a third party application for this task.

RO Of course you need to take care of the proper paths in your macros,
RO but this is guaranteed to work as you want. No third party programs,
RO no big amount of separate cookie files or whatever.

I opt for method 3. As you said, it is bound to work. Thanks a lot
 for your expert help.
