Hello MFPA,

I did find a work around for my Yahoo! account. Yahoo! offers the ability to generate a third party app password.  This did work, whew!  When I have the time and inclination I will try the method you described. Thank you for letting me know about your tip.

Add a new copy of the yahoo account in TB!. With luck, it will get you to do the "OAUTH" bit in your web browser when you are adding the account, and subsequently the account will login as normal within TB!. It might not work first time; if so delete the new copy of the account and try again. I had to do this four times for one of my accounts.

OAUTH Grayed Out

2020-11-21 Thread David Shepherd
Title: OAUTH Grayed Out

Hello TBUDL,

I decided to finally upgrade to ver.9 today. So far, I like it a lot.

However, my Yahoo account stopped being able to login. I believe it is because Yahoo has instituted a strict OAUTH policy. So, I went to 'Account -> Properties -> Transport -> Receive mail -> Authentication ' to change the authentication method from 'Regular' to 'OAUTH using Web Browser', but OAUTH is grayed out and not selectable.  I then switched to my Yandex account properties and OAUTH is also grayed out as well. In fact all the accounts I have in The Bat! have OAUTH grayed out. Is there something I must do to enable OAUTH?

So far I have restarted The Bat! and rebooted the system, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
David

Hello Susanne,

I have done fresh installs of Win10 twice in the past 6 months. The Bat! is
one of the first programs I install. Both times, right after installation, The
Bat! fails to close properly, and continues to close improperly. Most annoying.

This one worked for me:

"C:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat64.exe" /tls_disable_ecdhe

Hope it helps.

GS Thanks, that would seem a good idea - but what is the purpose of the
GS x-Mailer header?

It identifies which mailer is being used to send out the e-mail.

Before I registered the latest version of Opera I was being

I still use Agent for usenet. I've always used programs that
specialize in a certain field. I couldn't imagine using a mail
program to use as a mail reader. And while Agent will do e-mail
it doesn't have very good features for that use. Before I came
to TB! I used Eudora. I never have regretted my switch, as
Eudora became to bloated and slow. Oh, and paying for upgrades
with every version didn't strike my fancy either. I think if you
give TB! a chance you'll be really happy with it.

Try YahooPops! Available at the sourceforge website. I've been using it

I've tried to get her to use The Bat! full time, but she insists on
using the Yahoo! web client. However, she likes that she can archive all her
message using The Bat!
