PF There is little help to be got at my work as they only support OutCrap.

I am actually using TB in POP mode with my Exchange server at the

improvement when used in an Exchange environment. TB still rocks, and

Yes, I meant that, but since I don't use GnuPG, I couldn't tell what
that meant. It seemed to address your remarks.

I stopped using PGP a long time ago because it was such a hassle to
use. When I looked at it again about a year ago, I looked at GnuPG (I
think) and OpenPGP, etc. They seemed to be just as much of a hassle as
before. But the latest version of PGP from www.pgp.com seems to be
much less so.

I am a big proponent of no hassle since I look at so much email
every day. This seems to be pretty well done. It stays out of my way,
except for the first time I enter my password; I have it cached for
about hours, so I really only enter it once an email session. And when
I want to check a signature or whatever, it contacts the PGP Key
server for me and gets the public key. I like that. Automated is good
for me. I never liked having to manually distribute my key. I don't
like having to ask for one before using it. I know some people will
think that caching a password for 2 hours is unsecure, but I don't use
this at my office, so it works just fine for me. :)

 IMAP accounts.

I beg to differ. What you are effectively doing is popping your IMAP
account and filtering email in local folders. It's not really IMAP
because mail on the server stays in the Inbox. You just move it around
in your local folders.

Can you describe the specific filters that aren't working? AFAIK, the
only filter limitation with IMAP is Selective Download.

I got excited about IMAP in v2.0, I stopped using IMAP, because it
still has problems with managing folders and filtering email. But it's
much better than in 1.62, so I am hopeful that by 2.5 or 3.0, we'll
have it 100% right! :p

So when I find an orphaned message, I find the message it should be
threaded with, and copy that message's ID to the clipboard (CTRL-C).
Then I select the orphan and hit CTRL-ALT-R. The message disappears
from that folder and shows up in my Inbox. When I drag that message
back to the folder, it does not thread.

When I use the second filter, it deletes the message and a new
message appears in the Inbox...with no headers at all, apparently.

  Help?

all questions that will end up being answered, though unanswered

Yes, I figured that is was certainly an uncommon situation. I was
really complimenting what a great list this is. Even though it's run
by TB users, there are some mighty knowledgeable people here; and even
better, people willing to give of their time and energy to help other

SmartBat new features?

Are there any attempts at documenting this feature (besides the FAQ

Tiscali is the ISP in the UK, it's Surfcity here in the USA.

OK, well you will need to set BOTH accounts to use the surfcity SMTP
server since that is the network you are *connected* to when you send
email. SMTP is the same for both accounts, just POP settings should be
different.

And a related question:

If I am on other mailing lists that don't add these kinds of headers
into the message, is there a way for me to add them from my post? I am
sure it is not as simple as just writing:

List-Unsubscribe: blah blah
List-Help: blah blah
List-Archive: blah blah

Or can these headers only be added by the list server?

THEBAT.EXE - NO DISK

Hello Batty People, :)

I used to have my TB installed on Drive C: and all the mail data
stored on Drive D. My C: drive crashed so I now only have 1 drive, and
after reinstalling and restoring backup. I have found every instance
of reference to D:\whatever in the program, and made sure it's all
pointing in the right place, but I must be missing one that I can't

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into Drive D:

I have double-checked the registry for any entries that refer to the
D:\ drive. All that remains are install and source path
references, which seems appropriate, since d: is now a CDROM.

Any more ideas? I have not tried re-installing TB yet...maybe I should
