The Bat! - suggestions - Sharing the filters
Hello The Bat! developers, I'm using The Bat! Version 1.53 Beta/11 Serial Number 1F4CAD27 under Windows NT 4.0 Build 1381 Service Pack 3. There are some features I would like to see in your program: It's very simple, really... or at least I think so. :) Since we already have Share with other accounts option to share quick templates among accounts, and it works fine, it would be _very good_ to implement *sharing of filters* (Sorting Office) among accounts. I don't ask too much, just one check-box... :) I know for possibility to copy account.srx file, but that's not nice solution, is it? But, as general theory as in software is, fix the bugs first. ;) I know that the people from TBUDL|TECH|BETA agree with me, right? :=) And sorry if someone has already posted this wish. :) Regards, Lija -- __ Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
The Bat! - suggestions - Saving display filtering preferences
Hello The Bat! developers, I'm using The Bat! Version 1.53 Beta/11 Serial Number 1F4CAD27 under Windows NT 4.0 Build 1381 Service Pack 3. There are some features I would like to see in your program: Today, I'm in a very good mood for giving suggestions. :) So, let's begin. I assume you know something about Forte Agent and Microplanet Gravity newsreaders. Well, these newsreaders have one good feature that we need here. That feature serves to save display/viewing preferences for advanced filtering. I mean this: When you go to View | Display | Advanced filtering, you wish sometimes (I wish always!) to save some preferences for the future use. Something like, to display all messages from, e.g. Stefan Tanurkov and save that setting. Next time when we want to look only messages from our dear Stef, :), we'll call that setting, instead of bugging with: Sender's name is/contains: type here Stef etc. If you implement this, you'll make me very happy, because I use a lot to view messages only by some particular sender. I hope this isn't time-consuming process for developing and you'll make this in the future (but make it before v2!). Thank you! Non-deleted subdirectories
Hello TBUDL subscribers, I noticed this (bad) behavior (bug?) several months ago, and it still exists. When I create some dummy accounts, and delete them afterwards, using Wipe from disk option, they still exist in ...\Mail\ subdirectory. I don't know reason for this. U often give names to my accounts using '@' character, something like lija@OperaMail. Does the problem lie in these odd characters? Also, there used to be some problems when I delete these unnecessary directories manually. TB! then behaves very strange... Purging all folders doesn't help here... Can you confirm this and/or should I report this as a bug? -- Sincerely, Lija Using The Bat! v1.53 Beta/11 under Windows NT 4.0 Build 1381 Service Pack 3 -- __ Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Info about TB! with GnuPG
Hello TBUDL subscribers, Sorry for posting this topic here, but I'm no more subscribed to PGP-Basics, due to high-volume traffic and size of the messages... I downloaded GnuPG v1.0.5 and gpg.exe compiled for Windows platform, but it seems I still need MingW32/CPD kit. 1) Where is this kit _exactly_ on the gnupg.org site? Web and FTP location is not much descriptive, so I need precise links... don't have time to lurk around. Please also describe me in a few details this procedure with MingW32/CPD, that is required to work. 2) How to integrate GPG with TB!? Via command line, SysTray, or...? Isn't it better for us, users, that RIT could make plug-in DLL for this? CMIIW, I don't see DLL for GPG... or maybe there will be no DLL since it's not Windows application? I'm a bit confused with this, so please correct me. 3) GnuPG users, what is your experience till now wit GPG? Is it worth to switch to GPG? Is there any GUI environment, or just old and boring Unix-style command line with its parameters? ... 4) I forgot the link for Cyber Knights Templar site. Does CKT edition also require some compiler/tools or CKT editions are binaries only? What is your recommendation between CKT and GPG, and where is the link I need for (to download CKT)? Hello A, On Sat, 26 May 2001, at 05:29:33 [GMT -0500, your local time] (26.5.01 at 12:29 was my local time), you wrote to TBUDL: ACM I'd advise that you not ever set the spam to be deleted when using this ACM filtering method. The reason being that it's not only spam that comprises ACM messages that have not been addressed to you directly. A friend not in ACM your filters could BCC a message to you. True! I can confirm this because I used to get a lot BCC-ed msgs from a *very good* friend. Although sending like this can be not polite, I do NOT blame him. Why? Because, he also sometimes send msgs to other his friends that I don't know or they don't know me, and I specifically noted him not to include recipients in visible TO and CC fields. So, for me in this case, BCC field means privacy. Also, one good reason for sending BCC-ed msgs is that if you want to send one msg to e.g. 10 recipients, that msg would be much shorter when comes to recipient's mailbox. -- Sincerely, Lija Using The Bat! v1.52 Beta/1 on Windows NT 4.0 Build 1381 Service Pack 3 -- __ Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Hello Thomas, T As for the footer, it is necessary, as most people (including myself) T don't always look at the header, but "where is the archive" is one of T those questions that come up too often otherwise. Hello Nick, NA -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- NA Hash: SHA1 What is this, more unnecessary data? :)) Just kidding, just kidding... NA So some of the headers are redundant, so what? If you don't want to view NA them, uncheck the item under View. This option is unchecked, of course. NA If, as you state, you have this misunderstanding, why then do you refer to NA it as "useless" data when you apparently have not cleared up that NA misunderstanding? Perhaps you should pay attention to some of that "useless For newbies it is not useless, sure, but it BECOMES very useless and ANNOYING when you have to read it in every post. NA You know, for a new person, you don't seem to be too happy here on TBUDL NA with either the way the messages are presented, nor the people who write NA them. Funny attitude for someone new to the List. Sorry, you got me very wrong my friend. I am a new person here, but I don't think my attitude is "funny". I just pointed out some disagreements and that's all. Please do not take me that serious... Re[2]: Like Notepad with word-wrap...
Hello Thomas, T IOW: TB's editor knows only hard return (CR/LF), and no soft returns T as in Notepad. Ough, that's not so good for me :( T Advantage: the mail will be sent exactly the way you see it. Hmm, you mean, the recipients will get 'cutted' message? Is there any way or possibility to write them like one long line in Notepad with word-wrap option turned on, "ready for DTP processing"? T What is DTP processing? I didn't mean specifically for DTP, that was just an expression to point out my problem... For DTP (Desktop Publishing) processing, source text must be without CR/LF codes, otherwise, DTP workers have to use adequate macros to remove it... The usual condition is writing texts in MS Word or other word-processing software, and later, DTP worker can easy make whatever he wants in Quark, PageMaker (columns, subtexts, whatever...). That's why I don't like this in EVERY e-mail software... What about quoted-printable encoding? Will this, if I use, remedy my 8-bit letters? T Dunno. Why don't you try it out? TB hot-keys keyboard problem
Hello TBUDL, For all of us whose native language is not English, we have to use keyboard switching. There is one small problem in this: I set Ctrl+Shift for this. When I type in my language and need to type some ASCII character like [, ], ;, /, in ALL other programs I can normally access to these by additionally pressing Alt key, but Bat! makes problem when I want to type Alt+Shift+/ to get question mark - '?'. I simply can not do it, regarding the keyb. switch is in use or NOT! When Ctrl+Shift is active - it is worse - I get the 'lite' menus (Alt+Ctrl+Shift+/ or Alt+Shift+/ in this case). I tried to somehow fix this via 'Define System Hot-Keys', but there are no possibilities... Re[2]: Like Notepad with word-wrap...
Hello Marck, GFS WYSIWYG can be done with-out hard-returns. Eudora has done it GFS ever since 2.0. MDP This is literally impossible using plain ASCII text. Only Eudora users MDP can receive the messages as sent. At least with TB the message format MDP is universally legible. But how do you explain this: I made simple text message in Outlook Express 5.5 and choosed quoted-printable encoding. I've been watching it while editing and in Outbox, and saved in later in TXT file, and everything was fine. I GOT what I wanted to! Even with 8-bit letters correctly displayed. Wrapping option (to 76 chars, by default in OE) was available only with MIME/None. When I choose QP and/or Base64, my 'DTP problem' simply disappears! I tried it (QP encoding) in Bat!, but no results, hard returns are used, unfortunately! -- Best Regards, Lija, YUPCExpert-Owner [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ Do You Yahoo!? Hello TBUDL, The 'correct' encoding in my country is ISO-8859-2 with 8bit transfer (Serbian Latin / Croatian / Slovenian... since we in former Yugoslavia use high-ASCII characters and that's why we need 8 bits for transfer) and that's OK, but...
