I started all over again, and where I went wrong before was at the
installation of the new account AFTER extracting the zip and adjusting
the path for the new account. I left it at default before.

Now I saw all the files and filters where I had to change the path, it
ws very handy to have your list to check.

I'll try first to set up the list, and see if I run into problems
again, but you may be right about the FAQ, everything seems to be the
way you describe it, so it should be 'a piece of cake'.
Thanks so far!

Filters for mailinglist

2002-04-07 Thread Marion

Hello tbudl,

I am struggling with setting up a mailinglist with TheBat.
The most important part seems to be the filters, but I cannot find the
predefined ones. Probably due to a different path for my installation
of the Bat.

My TB! is located at e:\TheBat
The path that is defined for the files in the zip I downloaded is c:\program
files\The Bat\Mail.
In the manual it says to adjust the path in de templates and the
filters, but I don't seem to be able to find where to do so.
That might be the reason the filters don't show up in the sorting
office.

Can someone enlighten me, please?

This Dutch interface btw doesn't seem to work for me, it doesn't come up
in the list under language. Do I have to do something special?

Yes, thank you, I was afraid to try, thinking all my mail would
vanish. You are right, many options there.

DvZ> And for the messages that you delete and want to remove from the

But this is the more convenient one.
Sorry for asking for the obvious, I am more or less getting the hang

I would like to be able to select the mails I want to remove from

Strange thing, I don't have these problems on my laptop, while using

Rumor has it they are discontinuing the program, there are no beta's

Right! I have been using Eudora for 7 years now, never really
configuring it from scratch, but lately it has been playing trics on
me and making some messages disappear in cyberspace. So I decided to
try The Bat!

Okay, I'll take that into account. And I'll try out Lars' suggestion
with the maco, although that will need some studying ;-)

Other question I couldn't find, what is the purpose of the
inbox-known?

Of course, I haven been there once, don't know why I couldn't find it

Line length

2002-03-29 Thread Marion

Hello TBUDL,

I am pretty new to The Bat! and by now have spent about one hole day
  to configure my accounts.
I must say, I find the different properties and preferences a bit
confusing. Is there a way to configure all the folders of one
account at the same time? That would save a lot of work ;-)
My real question is about line length. I have looked everywhere,
read the FAQ (where I found the same question but no answer), to
set the characters for line length to less than what they are now.
When I reply to a message, the lines are much too long. When someone
replies again to me, the initials quotes are all mixed up in the
text. Doesn't make for good reading ;-)

I hope someone can tell me where to adjust that?
