Miguel,

 Hello Paul,

I had never before used the Horizontal split mode but I have just tried
 and they are saved here.

The horizontal split layout is saved, but not the widths of the
columns. Each time I restart TB the columns are all the same size.

Dear Miguel,

All I can say is that both the pane widths (folder tree, message list

left them before exiting TB. Why? I don't really know.

That's really frustrating Thanks for your input.

message View Layout

Dear All,

I have been trying different layouts with TB and was wondering if it
is possible to get a multiline view of the message list when the list
column is narrow - I am trying to use the horizontal split mode on a
widescreen monitor and I saw this feature on Outlook and thought it
would be really helpful.

Also, is it possible to have the list show the sender if I received
the e-mail and the recipient if I sent the e-mail? I don't need to
see my name as sender or recipient, but file both sent and received
mail by customer.

Re[2]: Reply Filtering

2004-11-05 Thread Paul Jansen

All of the Outgoing Mail filters will be the similar, so

 1. Inside TheBat!, create and troubleshoot an Outgoing Mail filter for
one of the folders.

 2. Copy the Outgoing Mail filter and paste and re-paste it into a word
processor document once for each of the remaining folders.

 3. Systematically use the word processor to

Change the names of the pasted filters.

Change the folder names in each copied filter.

 4. Copy the whole word processor document and paste it into TheBat!'s
Outgoing Mail filters.

Certainly this is a pain, but certainly it can be done. Perhaps it can
be done in the time it takes to complain about having to do it. |grin|

So If I have 100+ folders I have to create 100+ filters.

This seems to be a rather longwinded approach and will make my
outgoing filters really difficult to manage. ALso every time I add a
folder I have to add another filter - very cumbersome.

If only we could use a variable to define the destination folder I
would only need one filter!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure I want to spend the time
creating all the filters at the moment :(

Alexander,

You asked:

Why do you want to store the replies with the original mails, Paul? Do
you want to track all conversation from/to certain person(s) and/or
 adress book group(s)?

I want to keep e-mail to/from each client and supplier in individual
folders as otherwise the volumes in each folder become difficult to
manage. Virtual folders would have the same effort required for each
grouping just like filters.

I was just talking to a client who said that in outlook the default is
to file the reply with the original message unless a filter overrides
this. This seems like an ideal solution. With the volumes of mail I
am managing this is tempting...

required to go from 0.6.0 to 0.6.1, but since it only takes an extra

small price for a good install. I loose a lot more time if I don't and

If I view the Unread tab and then return to the All tab, all the
accounts are expanded and I have to go through collapsing them again.
Does anyone know of a way to avoid this unhelpful behaviour?

Thanks

PJ

Set the folder view to your liking (collapsed) and then exit TB! Once
restarted, these settings should be retained when switching between
 tabs.

So the state of the folders when TB! is started is the one reinstated
when changing from Unread to All.

Thank you that is most helpful.
