Aw: Dozens of copies saved on draft

2014-05-07 Thread Raymund Tump
Hi Stefan,

when I create a message, the bat saves it in different stages of editing in
the same folder I create it. Sometimes I work on a message for relatively a
long time (let's say 30-60 minutes), so I end up with literally dozens of
copies in my folder. Which, I must say, it's pretty confusing.

Check your filters. I had the same/a similar problem when a filter hit on a
recipient/sender and moved all messages to a given folder. If you selected all
folders that will happen on the Outbox as well.

Forgive me for being so obtuse but can you expand your instructions a little?

The point is that if you create the folder in TB the shortcut
ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+L won't work as the folder isn't lost.

So create a folder, put the messages.tbb in there, hit the keys and
TB! should find that said folder and show its messages. You can than
copy the messages around as needed and get rid of the extra folder
afterwards.

Nothing special. If you want to use File History make sure to put the

You really should do that.

If the Bat is loaded twice (once in each login) does that make any

With the normal setup that should work fine.

I guess they aren't created in the first place. You could try if

As the other accounts work and these are POP3 as well check for any

Re: Automatic backups

2010-07-26 Thread Raymund Tump
Hi Jack!

I have no idea why an icon is created instead of a text string
showing the date but I would love to know. Something in the regex perhaps?

That's simply because the RegEx doesn't work correctly for filenames
anymore. I suggest you write a bug report. (But Roelof mentioned it is
a know problem somehow.)

If you run the RegEx in a new message template, it puts in the date as
expected and it should do the same for the backup filename.

This apparently solves my original problem and I can run with it
but it sure would be neat if TB! created a new, different backup
instead of overwriting the existing one.

It strange that TB! overwrite a file without a filename (I don't call
an extension a filename :-)) but doesn't do it with a file.

But if I look at your version number the regex might only work with a
later version of TB!

You should be able to do that using the command line and call the program

Thanks for your message. That's the problem. I give my permission
 every time TB! starts.

Try the following: Find The Bat! in the Program Files directory, right
click it and go to the compatibility tab. Check Run as Administrator.

However, if I lower the warnings level from UAC (no warning, lowest
 level), nothing bothers me anymore.

Well, to run the computer with an administrative account and turning
off UAC is a very, very bad idea. That would open the door for more
malwares like the one you got from that iPhone website :-)

I should probably do that because as I read before from friends at
TBUDL, UAC wouldn't help so much with security issues.

Well, security wise it is always a good idea to run with the least
possible privileges. So create a restricted user and if you need to
install something make sure you scan it first for virus and malware
and then install it using the administrative account that was created
during the setup of the computer.

Hi Stuart!

Well, he uses a different version than you do, so even if he confirms
that doesn't help.

Using Windows 7 RTM, when I open SmartBat there is no icon showing up in the
taskbar. If I then change the focus to another window SmartBat disappears and
needs to be reopened. At this point if you had scrolled up the page in
 SmartBat
you position would have been lost.

You're right there is no icon on the taskbar.

You're wrong with SmartBat has to be reopened. If you don't maximize
the TB! window and drag SmartBat's window so that it is visible all
the time, you see it vanishing when the focus leaves the bat and
coming back when the focus comes back.

So, minimizing TB's window even gives you your SmartBat's window back.
