From time to time I see this line in the account log:

This error comes with the popup window that prompt for the username and the password.

Enter your user name and password in

You'll also need to set the Do not store password, prompt on mail
retrieval that hides behind the Authentication button in that
 window.

Create a filter.
In the action tab mark Add address(es) to address book.

Group in address book and character set

When I click off the character set setting, all return to normal and

Am I doing something wrong ?

Exact string in filters

2002-03-09 Thread Shahar

Hello all.
I created a filter that search for text string in the Subject.
Is there a way to make The Bat! search only the exact text ?
For example: I search for listname_sub. The Bat! can fine the same
string in the sting listname_unsub.
I can change the subject to sub_listname but if there's a way not to
I'll be glad.
I remember that in Pegasus mail you have to put a ^ before the
string for exact string.

How do I do it in The Bat! ?

Filter 1 : Checks if the person who sends the message is in an AB group (say
Mail). If yes then it moves the message to Duplicate Folder. This filter has

Filter 2 : Adds the person id to the AB group - Mail and also sends out the mail

Melissa,
Create a QT and enable the Use for new/mass mailing. You can add
Macros in the template.
Now go to the address book or group and select all the recipients you
want to send the message to.
In the address book go to File | mass mailing using template and
choose the right template.
The Bat! create a message for every address in the address book.
You'll be asked what to do with all the messages.

Melissa,
I did it too and I got a unique message for each recipient.
In the file menu in the address book you have two commands for
template:
1 is new message using template, and here you'll see all the
recipients in the TO field
2. Mass mailing using template and this command creates a message for
each recipient.

I guess this is my knowledge limit :-)

I'd suggest you check this by bringing the taskbar button for the
connection center in focus, hitting Alt-Space and selecting 'Move'. You
can the use the arrow keys to move it into view. When in the desired
position hit 'enter' to apply the new position.

Hallelujah ! It worked.
From some reason the size of the connection center was very small ..

cookies ??

 Hi all,

I'd like to add cookies to some of my mails. The template is easy
enough. I have a two small problems though:

If I have a cookie sized 2 or 3 lines, how do I handle that in the
 template?

%WRAPPED=%COOKIE

1- So far, I can either insert them as one extreme long line - or
only the first line will appear in my mail.
2- How do I separate them? Empty line? -?

Hello Jan.
Well, this solution does extract the files to a folder but it does not
delete the files from the original message so I have the same message
in 2 folders in TB! with the attached files in both folders.

Any idea ?

TIA.

In filters, under 'Action' tab, there is an option to 'extract
attached files to the specified directory' you are allowed to
   chose a folder file name.

If you mean the "Get new mail" button so the arrow let you choose what
account to get new mail from. For this you need to have more than one

If you mean the "Create a new message" button so the arrow let you

Unfortunately not; the macros are little variables, if you so want,
that insert their value as a text string in the mail the moment you
open it (for example by hitting reply). After that, they cannot be
 newly "refreshed".

Workaround: use this macro in a Quick Template which you only call
manually when you are finished editing the message.

Thank you. I'll try it.

First turn off the sound for new messages. Then create a filter at the
end of your filter list that catches all remaining messages (eg "@" in
Sender). On the Actions tab activate Play Sound.

Re: Need help. Filters doesn't work.

2001-02-17 Thread Shahar

MDP Filters are applied *while importing received messages*.
MDP Messages that are placed in the inbox of another account by a
MDP filter will *not* be filtered again.

NA What about right clicking the Inbox after the messages have been
NA filtered there, and then manually choosing 'Re-filter Messages'?

Indeed - which is what I meant when I said:

I use this method now. Works fine.

Thank you.

Need help. Filters doesn't work.

2001-02-16 Thread Shahar

Hello TB! fellows.
I have two accounts. One is my main email address and the second is dedicated
to all my mailing list messages, I get all my messages to the second
account.

In my first account I have a special directory with subdirectories
for my lists subjects and filters that moves new mail to the right
subdirectory.

I did this change today:
Instead of retrieve my mailing list messages to my main account, where my
filters are, I retrieve it to my second account. In my second account
I have a single filter that moves every message to my main account
inbox.

Since this change my filters, In my main account, does not respond and all my mailing
list
messages remain in my main account inbox.

I need your help to make my filters work again.

TIA.

Nick,

Check the filter that moves the Mailing List messages over, and make
sure you have checked "Continue Processing With Other Filters" which you
will find under the "Options" tab within the filter menu.

I did it but still no change.

Hey, Thank you. This exactly what I was looking for.

SS name and only his name in the "TO" field. I don't want to use the
SS BCc fiels.

You could use the mass e-mail feature.

To do this, create your message as a quick template (CTRL+SHIFT+Q) and
before you're finished, enable the option 'Use for New Messages/Mass
Mailing'. Now open your address book and select the addresses or
address group you wish to send the message to. Go to 'File | New
Message Using Template', and select the QT. A separate message for
each address will be created containing the QT's contents.

Is this what you wish to do?
