Where would you archive them to? If you are reaching your Gmail size limit, you'll need another account to move them to. This could be done with filters. I have subscribed to all folders except All Mail. I'm not a massive Gmail user and this was done many moons ago so I can't remember how this came about. I believe that Gmail's IMAP implementation is not like everyone else's in that Gmail stores all mail in a single folder and use Labels to separate it out. It then presents these separate labels as separate IMAP folders. Multiple messages can have multiple Labels and then appear in multiple IMAP folders. [Later] I have just discovered for myself that in Gmail web browser you can click on Setting/Labels and manage which labels Gmail will present to IMAP clients using the 'Show In IMAP' checkbox. I could not find anything in the help and fond a tantalising reference in a forum to address book macros in version 1 (or 2). In my case I needed Job title field from the address book and using an index into the address book. Knowing TB! is amazingly flexible, I knew it would exist and eventually managed to guess the field. To avoid the guessing, is there an up to date reference? BTW, if you need the job title in your template during a mass mailing you can use %ABTOJOB -- Best regards, Tony mailto:t...@parkinch.co.uk The Bat! 5.4 with IMAP on Windows 7 6.1.Service Pack 1 Build: 7601 Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

If you want, you can make a template with the logo(s) and assign it a key combination to insert it where you want Only do one template at once. There is a bug in there and you must close the templates and reopen to do a second one or you will have a mess (try it and just be prepared to fix it) :)) That seems to do it. When I send the mail to myself, TB shows an attachment (download headers only) but when I read it, the attachment paper clip is removed. Adding the logs as an included template is a great idea so that I don't have to send the logo for internal company messages but I can simply add them for external messages. Inline or embedded images
Hello Forums, Is it possible to embed images in me outgoing emails. Typically, I'd like my logo and Twittter icons to be embedded rather than attached. Since it doesn't appear with all messages, but only for those earler than August 3, I'd suspect that the problem is a corrupted message received on August 3. Open the Connection Center for her account and dispatch all messages on server with it, then delete the last August 3 message and see if that stops the message. If it does not, repeat until the message goes away. I've had similar problems with corrupt messages at the server end, and once the bad message is located and deleted, all works well again. If she downloads the messages to local storage and deletes them from the server, then of course this won't work and the message would indicate corruption in the local folder. In that case, restoring from a backup would be the only feasible solution. If it's an IMAP folder, you can try to clear the cache. I have also report a bug if the subject on a message has an opening parenthesis without a matching closing parenthesis which can stall message downloading. Re: Unable to Restore a Backup
Hello Robert, In all cases, backup fails with Error Reading File I had this persistently for a very long time and reported it in the Beta forum. I believe I raised a support ticket that got lost. My recollection is that it is something to do with account properties. Try deselecting that to see if the restore completes. I never solved the problem until I reinstalled TB! This also fixed a number of other persistent problems with filters. I had upgraded over the years from 1.62 to the current 5.x version so I guess an incompatibility crept in over that time. -- Best regards, Tonymailto:t...@parkinch.co.uk The Bat! 5.4 Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: IMAP folders
Hello Petr, Hi, does this means the only Inbox is folder on server? I was created the IMAP account, so I am sure the folders inside account are IMAP folders. But as far as I know, the imap folders can be remote (on imap server) or local. I am curious if my folders are remote or local. About folder colors, see attached pict. I seem to recall that older version of TB would create local folders by default but the latest versions create all folder on the server now. Right click the account/Manage IMAP folders. You'll see all the IMAP folders. You can create server folder there and then move local folder content to the server. Re: Deleting address history - SOURCE OF ADDRESSES
Hello MAU, The drop-down list (menu, as you call it) that appears when you start typing is a list that is built on the fly with addresses from Address Book, or To history or both, that match the characters that you have typed so far. You can see that it is built on the fly if, once it appears, you type one or more characters. So, as the shown list as such does not exist in any file (like the To history does) you cannot delete from it. If you want to delete one or more addresses, you will have to do so from the AB or the To history. You can set which addresses appear in the address dropdowns for To:, CC:, BCC: Go to Preferences -- Viewer/Editor -- Message Headers Edit the header you want e.g. To: Go to the editing tab and you'll see a variety of sources in 'While-you-type Actions' for suggestions and auto-complete. Hello Leonard, Sunday, March 17, 2013, 3:56:36 PM, you wrote: The thread about deleting address history reminded me about a vexing problem that I have asked about previouly, with not progresss on my end. Even though I have a reply template for an addressee, TheBat seem to ignore it. For example, I receive a lot of e-mail from people with titles (Dr. Professor, etc.). Frequently their titles are part of their names that preced the email address. In the case of those people whom I know personally, I like to address them by their first names, and have a reply template to do exactly that. TheBat ignores the template and starts the replay e-mail with Dr., Proffessor, etc.) It was suggested in an earlier instance of this thread that possibly I have the addressee in more than one place, thus conhfusing TheBat. Although I do have a few of these cases like this, the improper salutation appears in all cases. It seems that, come what may, TheBat looks to the account templates and not the templates in the address book. Thanks. As I understand it, TheBat can use templates from the account, folder, address book group and address book contact. Have you tried a template at the individual contact level? I have at least one (for my wife!) working correctly. Re: Reply, address history and the address book
Hello Jack, You've piqued my interest now as I too have fought with templates for years with limited success. If I may detail the templates in the order in which you list them: ACCOUNT: Select the account then right-click and select PROPERTIES. FOLDER: Select the correspondent's folder then right-click and select PROPERTIES AB Group: Select the AB Group then right-click and select PROPERTIES AB Contact: Select a specific AB Contact then right-click and select PROPERTIES And lastly you mention individual contact level. Is this last simply a reference to #4, the AB Contact or is there yet another level? Yes, I mean AB Contact, your #4 Good luck. -- Best regards, Tonymailto:t...@parkinch.co.uk The Bat! 5.3.8.4 (BETA) Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

One final piece of the puzzle is have you figured out which entry of the auto-complete list is selected and copied to the To: address? For me it is always the same one but not the first one in the list, not by name, not by address. No pattern I can see. Try backspacing over your typing and type the same again - I get a different item selected each time and sometimes no item. -- Best regards, Tonymailto:t...@parkinch.co.uk The Bat! 5.3.8.4 (BETA) Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Deleting address history
Hello Tbudl, How can I delete addresses offered on the address drop down when addressing a new email? According to TBUDL archove, I should simply select the address and hit the Delete key. This doesn't work for me. Another post said to delete it on the Addresses Tab. The offending address is not there to be deleted. There is also strange behaviour of the address list drop down: * The list appears to be in random order * TB picks and highlight a random entry each time * Sometime and entry is copied into the address without highlighting. How is it meant to work? Talking to myself ... After much messing around, it seems that you *can* delete history this way BUT the addresses that appear in the drop down are in fact from the address book - which can't be deleted. You need to hit the double down arrow to get the history. TB does not honour the Add Items to the Instant Address Popup setting in the Group Properties. Therefore, all address book addresses appear in the drop down. What's more, if the address is a member of multiple address book groups, then it will appear multiple times - each time rendered slightly differently. E.g. David 'David' 'David...' A single address appearing multiple times makes sense because each group can have its own templets, character set, etc. but there is no indication which address come from which group. Finally, the address that TB decides to put into the To: seems to be a total mystery. -- Best regards, Tonymailto:t...@parkinch.co.uk The Bat! 5.3.8.4 (BETA) Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
