Re: Ignoring URL's whilst Spellchecking

2006-03-22 Thread Paul Meathrel
Hi all,

The plot thickens further...

When running a spell check whilst using the Plain text (windows) editor in a
message with at least two items which the Spell-checker will highlight use the
Ignore all button on the Spell-checker. This closes the Spell-checker. However
if you do exactly the same thing on MicroEd Ignore All seems to ignore all
instances of that spelling mistake. There are a number of inconsistencies that
I'm coming across, the only thing is, I'm not sure which is right!

Okay I've tried it and it skips the URL's in the email when I use MicroEd. It
looks like it is a bug or a difference in functionality. The other thing that I
notice is that when I spell check in MicroEd I receive a nice little message at
the end saying how many words it checked etc. However this dialog box does not
appear when I finish a spell-check in PlainEd. Well that is one thing fixed,
but the plot has thickened somewhat!

Ignoring URL's whilst Spellchecking

2006-03-20 Thread Paul Meathrel
Hi all,

I send quite a few emails each day which have the URL's for websites in the
body of the email. I'm in the habit of running a spell check on the email
before I send it, but every time I run a spell check it picks up of each piece
of the URL separately! So for example if I put the following URL in the email:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4824642.stm

the Spellchecker will pick up on: http, bbc, uk, europe and stm as words which
require suggestions. Since TB is capable of identifying a URL in the body of an
email is there a setting that I've missed that will tell the Spellchecker to
ignore URL's?

No help I know but I copied your mail across (including the url) and the
spell checker missed both your URL and mine in my sig. It also didn't
touch the http etc. Just a thought but, have you downloaded and
installed the international language pack which I believe you have to do

According to the Ritlabs website
(http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/diff.php):

In the Professional Edition the dictionaries are a part of the standard
installation file.

When I reinstalled my machine a few days ago I simply downloaded the latest Pro
version from the RL website and entered my registration key. From what the
website seems to indicate I'm guessing that I don't need to install the
International Pack. I will give it a try however and see what happens!

Open up the editor (for instance as if you're replying to this) and then
go to Spell checker. When the dialogue box comes up choose
dictionaries down at the bottom and you can even make a custom one
