No, I don't.

I don't plan to run the new version until it's out of beta.

If you're referring to the plugin, you need to enable the option in
the plug-in setup.

Nothing. Please wait while I extract foot from mouth. I gave you a bum
steer - I just checked my own setup and you are right - only incoming
mail is scanned. I sent out eicar test virus and NOD didn't react. In my
defense, I sure I saw reference to incoming/outgoing scanning in the help
file but I can't find it now. Also, IMHO i'm not sure it's necessary
anyway because if nod hasn't picked up the system is infected, an
outgoing email scanner is not really going to be much use.

Sorry for the bum steer.

Merry Christmas

I just installed it, but the incoming mails are not scanned. Only the
on demand scanner works, but not the module that checks emails on port
110. I am doing something wrong?

I will stand corrected on this but I think with the new version of NOD
you no longer need the plugins to scan the emails. Supposed to be using a
winsock scanner. I'm still testing it, but as far as I can see all my
incoming and outgoing email is scanned (I've removed the NOD32 plugin.)

Doesn't really answer your question but may give some leads. ;-)

I noted this as well, though the delay would occur only when
incoming messages contained attachments to be scanned.

DC> Is this typical for TB anti-virus plugins?

I can say no in the case of DrWeb. The plug-in for it works very
nicely.

If you're already running a realtime system scanner then the plugin
will not confer any added protection. For me, it adds conveniences.
Infected messages are moved and placed in a TB! 'quarantine' folder.
I could have the plugin delete the infected attachment, attempt to
clean infected attachments or send a virus notification message to
the sender. You can also scan outgoing messages.

I tried using NOD32 plugin with TB but found that it added too much delay.
The delay seemed to be from having NOD32 constantly being started, for each
new message, rather than for the time NOD32 needed to do the evaluation of a
message.

Is this typical for TB anti-virus plugins?

And while I'm asking questions: how does using a plug in improve security,
rather than simply relying on the same anti-virus software to protect the
file system directly?
