You have to highlight a message coming from a mailing-list before going
into this menu. This feature will read the mailing list management
informations that are contained in the header of the message. Those are
informations that the mailing list server adds to the headers of each
posted message and that actually gives the addresses to subscribe,
unsubscribe, or post a message to the concerned list. It's a pretty nice
feature that automates the dealing with mailing lists...


 2: What does the smartBat do?

I still have no clue about that... I think it's a kind of always on
memo or something, but I don't know why it's contained in TB...

 While you are reading this msg go to specials|Mailinglist and you will
 find its not grayed out anymore.
 This function is only available if the right list headers are present in
 an email, which is the case with all the emails in this list and some
 other lsit as well.
 I think its a neat function.


KE 2: What does the smartBat do?

Smartbad is sort of a constant notepad with easy copy functions. Al lot
of discussions have been had about it. Just look in the archive.

Yes, it's pretty nice. It only works with 3 of the 20 lists I'm
subscribed to, but it's pretty nice. Yes, and you're guessing right,
the three that work are this one (TBUDL), TBBeta and TBtech. What a
coincidence! ;-)

mainly depends on the list owner and the software used, which headers

Where is the beta site? 

I'm trying The Bat 1.60h for the first time and it does seem to have a
few idiocyncracies which may be bugs. I don't mind a beta version if it
sorts a few problems - although some are obviously down to my lack of
knowledge.

I also note from your sig that 1.60i is the current version, but 1.60h is
the one on the web site.

I think you can do that with X-Ray Mail Assistant with {in|out}going
mail. This program is anyway written for TB, as I know.
