Now I'll have to think of something else to add to the Wiki that goes at the top level. ;-) I'm sure there is a rationale for locking the top level, though I admit I'm not sure I know what it is. If you want or need to keep it locked, should we just send you a PM to request that you unlock it temporarily when we have content we want to enter there? Also one other question while I have you by the ears. Is there a way to invite another registered user who is also logged in there to a chat while on the Wiki? -- Regards, Perry Using The Bat! v3.95.6 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.95.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

If you want or need to keep it locked, should we just send you a PM to request that you unlock it temporarily when we have content we want to enter there? Mainly, it was an attempt to keep some semblance of order at the top level. I didn't want to end up with a five page lead-in page with a bunch of stuff that could be sub-categorized. Also one other question while I have you by the ears. Is there a way to invite another registered user who is also logged in there to a chat while on the Wiki? Good question. I've never used the wiki chat myself. Just off the top of my head, I'd have to say no just based on the fact that unless a logged in user is in the chatroom, I'm not sure how a notification could happen. I just saw you log on, maybe we could test it. -- TBUDL/BETA/DEV/TECH Lists Moderator / PGP 0x5D167202 __ Geocaching:http://gps.PCWize.com ( ) ( ___)(_ _)( ___) TBUDP Wiki Site: http://www.PCWize.com/thebat/tbudp )(__ )__) _)(_ )__) Roguemoticons Smileys:http://PCWize.com/thebat ()()()(__)PHP Tutorials and snippets:http://www.DevTek.org I know it sounds like I'm in denial, but I'm not. I'm not sure how useful chatting there really is, but it's nice to know that it *does* work if you happen on another user who has chosen to see if anyone's there waiting to chat. Please let us know if you *do* locate an invitation module that can be added to the Wiki. -- Regards, Perry Using The Bat! v3.95.6 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.95.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Perry Nelson everyone else, on 14-Jan-2007 at 15:04 you (Perry Nelson) wrote: ASK I just remembered it myself today and started to add some articles. ;-) I'm sure you noticed that the link I recommended to Mike in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] was one that you had written. I'm pleased to hear that you've returned to adding articles there because your explanations of things are often quite helpful. Thank you. Here's a request: if something in an article on the Wiki is not correct, or not sufficient enough - correct the article, or create links to articles with further explanations, in other words: take the freedom to *change* the existing article. Don't add notes and discussion to it. *Change* the article and make it better and more precise. Thats how a Wiki is supposed to work. :-) The answers we exchange with each other on these lists, here and on TBBETA, can serve as fodder for those updates. For instance, I think Miguel's idea about how to set up an automated, password-protected archive of The Bat! in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] warrants inclusion there. How to customize a toolbar also comes to mind as an example. Both would be good additions, indeed! -- Best regards, Alexander (http://www.neurowerx.de) NP: Beyond Beta by Craig Padilla from the 2000 compilation Fahrenheit Project 1 http://www.discogs.com/release/116293 Current version is 3.95.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I've tried opening the Chat but I see no way to invite someone else who is logged in into that Chat. Any suggestions? Also the top level of the Wiki (i.e., Home) seems to be locked. How does one add an article that isn't a sub-heading of another article. Leif's explanation of How to start writing Wiki pages explains how to add a page *below* another page, but there should be a way to add a page that isn't a sub-heading. I can't seem to find that. I was going to add an article on Archiving, using Miguel's write-up as the basis, but that doesn't seem to me at least to belong *under* anything else. Can you, or anyone else, offer any help? -- Regards, Perry Using The Bat! v3.95.6 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.95.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
