OK, my bad. I have checked and it was the All Mail view and not the Inbox I was looking at. The messages showed in the sent mail folder but the incoming copy failed to show in the Inbox. I dislike reading at the GMail website since I don't like threaded mail but it must please more people than displease them because it doesn't offer an option to read chronologically. I do like threaded mail if the threads are genuine. But Gmail makes the same mess of it as Outlook Express, adding new messages to completely unrelated conversations with the same subject line that may be months or years old. -- Best regards, MFPA Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes Using The Bat! v3.0.1.33 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 3.5.25 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Also, because I receive list mail both at home and at the office, I have just discovered that I have not been receiving a large number of postings to the list at home, where I use The Bat. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? Presumably you have The Bat! set to leave messages on server so they are still there when you later download from work. Do you have that option with the software you use at work(and is it set correctly)? If not, messages you download at work will be deleted and this will mean some messages not being downloaded at home. PS. Because I don't receive all list mail at home, it would be much appreciated if replies could ALSO be copied to my home e-mail address, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Done. -- Best regards, MFPA During an eruption - move away from the volcano - not towards it Using The Bat! v3.0.1.33 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 3.5.25 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello achdut, Friday, June 17, 2005, 7:28:08 PM, you wrote: a For some reason, the Connection Center window hangs open and a won't download a test message that was sent and is sitting on the a gmail server. Honestly, go with hotpop. www.hotpop.com. They might put a tag line in your messages and they might not. When I first signed up I had a few tag lines but then, they disappeared. Another really nice online service to check out which is free and which stated will be offering pop service in the future is www.inbox.com. This clearly knocks Gmail out the box and when it reaches pop status, Google is going to lose a lot of people... Anyhow, leave Gmail alone... 2GB sounds good if you love headaches. It's also good if you're prepared to change the standard email procedure into something you'll only ever find in Gmail... I rate Gmail 1/5. -- Best regards, Victor B.
