I didn't change either, but on checking, they are both
set at 'regular', no bells and whistles, which is the way
they've been working for the last 2 months :-(

Just in case this is the problem, verify the "Connection" type and
"Authentication" mechanism. Most servers take regular for both. You
may need to check with your ISP if they use a "non-standard" (and
probably more secure) method for either of these.

Well, I did two things after I saw your mail .. I had a
look at the log, no joy there, nothing at all in the way
of errors, and I went to the account on comcast's page
and logged in there (after closing TB) to see what
happened there with the password. The password is right,

Have you tried looking at the account log? It may have some hints as
to why it's reporting the password is incorrect. I know a while back
that TB popped up the password box on a server error, regardless of
the error, so locked mailboxes caused a similar kind of result.

2004-02-02 Thread Lynn

Hi all -

I've got a problem I can't figure out, and I hope someone
knows a fix, because it's driving me nuts.

I have been having some problems getting my web pages
uploaded to my new account, and in trouble shooting it,
the techs have changed my passwords a couple of times. So
I have new passwords. I plugged them into the 'transport'
page of the accounts properties.

However, the bat doesn't want to know about them, and
keeps demanding that I put them in again.

The checkbox in the POP window for 'don't save the
password' is *unchecked* ... it saved it fine before.

I've closed TB and reopened it, to no avail ... I don't
know what else to do.

tia,

Lynn

there are on the net some prograns around called addvanced password
recovery and they exist for email, word, excel, PDF etc
Demos are downloadable and while it may only give the first 4
letters it may be enough to make you remember the rest.
An alternative is a program which reads any field you can highlight
and shows the password. Its freeware, I have it and will happily email
it to you. If I remember correctly it read my bat passwords on
myrealbox.com accounts..

Name is revelation and last version is v2 ( I think)
try a search engine...

TB doesn't exclude specific ISPs or domains - it is an equal
opportunity MUA. However, Hotmail doesn't support the POP3 protocol as

HA! how funny - of course something so 'stupid' has never happened to
me ;-)

Give Snadboy’s Revelation a go, it can (sometimes) reveal what is
under the * in a text box.

I haven't tried it with TB, or used it for a few years, but it saved
my butt a few times a couple of years ago... Give it a go, hope it
helps.

Receive Mail Password.

2002-11-22 Thread Chris Weaven
Hi The Bat! user,

After reading peoples comments on MailWasher, I decided to give it a go.
I know you can do lots of the stuff using the Mail Dispatcher, but just
wanted to try mailwasher myself and to try it out for a friend with a
Hotmail account. On that note, quick question, I can't remember if TB!
support Hotmail accounts?

The problem is, I can't remember my receive mail password and I can't
copy and paste it from TB! to mailwasher, as TB! doesn't allow the
copying of the password.

Is there anyway I can find out what my password is?

So embarrassing and annoying!!!

Oh yeah, anther quick question, how come the red underline is sometimes
of a different style?
