Re: [Texascavers] Fwd: High School Field Trip to Deep Cave
Jim, Mark is a geology instructor at Laredo Community College and an experienced caver. He did his thesis on hydrogeology of the “See My Shovel System at UTSA and worked as an intern at the Edwards Aquifer Authority. He called me asking for some help on that date this morning but it’s the same weekend as the BOG meeting and also your project at Ezell’s. I recommended that he send out an email to Texas Cavers asking for some help but don’t think he was signed up as of this morning. I told him I would post it to Texas Cavers since his post to the Bexar Grotto email server didn’t get any takers. Mark beat me to the posting. As a point of note, the average age of the NSS is just over 50 years old. To keep the organization alive and growing, we must invest in youth that will carry on exploration, conservation and education programs for the next generation. I appreciate Mark’s effort to help youth that are interested in caving. If anyone is available and would like to help, I’m sure Mark would appreciate it. He has been to Deep on numerous occasions and I’m sure will do a good job.
