Corruption in India  is a cultural aspect.
Indians seem to think nothing peculiar about corruption .
It is everywhere.

Indians tolerate corrupt individuals rather than correct them.

No race can be congenitally corrupt.
But can a race be corrupted by its culture?

To know why Indians are corrupt ,
look at their patterns and practices .

*First:*

Religion is transactional in India .
Indians give God cash and anticipate an out-of-turn reward.
Such a plea acknowledges that favours are needed for the undeserving.

In the world outside the temple walls,
such a transaction is named- “bribe”.

A wealthy Indian gives not cash to temples,
but gold crowns and such baubles.

His gifts can not feed the poor. His pay-off is for God.
He thinks it will be wasted if it goes to a needy man.

In June 2009, The Hindu published a report of Karnataka minister
G. Janardhan Reddy gifting a crown of gold and diamonds worth
Rs 45 crore to Tirupati.

India’s temples collect so much that
they don't know what to do with it.
Billions are gathering dust in temple vaults.

When Europeans came to India  they built schools.
When Indians go to Europe  USA, they build temples.

Indians believe that if God accepts money for his favours,
then nothing is wrong in doing the same thing.
This is why Indians are so easily corruptible.

Indian culture accommodates such transactions morally.
There is no real stigma. An utterly corrupt Jaya Lalita can
make a comeback, just unthinkable in the West.

*Second -*

Indian moral ambiguity towards corruption is visible in its history.
Indian history tells of the capture of cities and kingdoms after guards
were paid off to open the gates, and commanders paid off to surrender.

This is unique to India .

Indians' corrupt nature has meant limited warfare on the subcontinent.
It is striking how little Indians have actually fought compared to
ancient Greece and modern Europe .

The Turks’ battles with Nadir Shah were vicious and fought to the finish.

In India fighting wasn't needed, bribing was enough to see off armies.

Any invader willing to spend cash could brush aside India ’s kings,
no matter how many tens of thousands soldiers were  in their infantry.

Little resistance was given by the Indians at the “ Battle ” of Plassey.
Clive paid off Mir Jaffar and all of Bengal folded to an army of 3,000.

There was always a financial exchange to taking Indian forts.
Golconda was captured in 1687 after the secret back door was left open.

Mughals vanquished Marathas and Rajputs with nothing but bribes.

The Raja of Srinagar gave up Dara Shikoh’s son Sulaiman to
Aurangzeb after receiving a bribe.

There are many cases where Indians participated
on a large scale in treason due to bribery.

Question is: Why Indians have a transactional culture while
 other 'civilized' nations don't?

*Third -*

Indians do not believe in the theory that they all can rise
if each of them behaves morally, because that is not
the message of their faith.

Their caste system separates them.
They don't believe that all men are equal.
This resulted in their division and migration to other religions .

*Many Hindus started their own faith like Sikh, Jain, Buddha
**and many converted to Christianity and Islam.

*The result is that Indians don't trust one another .

*There are no Indians in India ,there are
**Hindus ,Christians, Muslims and what not.

**Indians forget that 400 years ago they all belonged to one faith.

*This division evolved an unhealthy culture.
The inequality has resulted in a corrupt society,

In India every one is thus against everyone else,
except God ­ and even he must be bribed.

SANTA BANTA IN PAKISTAN

Sergeant Santa was pedaling furiously on his bicycle, trying to keep up with
Captain Banta. Sir, Captain Sir, but you just went to the toilet!
Yeah! So what?
Then why are you searching for the woods?
Sergeant! I said 'we were searching for Dawood', and not for the wood,
understand?
Oh! But why are we on bicycles?
Captain Banta heaved a big sigh. Look here, Santa. We want the element of
surprise.
Yes! said Santa dutifully.
Okay! Then does anyone expect us to attack on bicycles?

Exactly! Surprise! Also, remember what happened to the US helicopter in
that attack on Osama? One of their helicopters failed to take off, so they
had to destroy it. With a cycle, that is not a problem. If it gets
punctured, we just wheel it off to the nearest cycle shop and get it
repaired. We need not destroy it. At the most we can sell it to the local
scrap merchant.
Santa nodded his head understandingly. Suddenly Banta shouted, Look out!
There are some Pakistani soldiers ahead. Behave naturally like a Pakistani.
Their bicycles were stopped by the soldiers, Hey, who are you chaps and
where are you coming from?
Before Banta could answer, Santa spluttered, We were just watching Salman
Khan's latest film and searching for the wood.
Banta gave a killing glare at Santa. But the Paki soldiers smiled and said,
Ah! I liked that movie too, *the way he shakes his trousers, as if he has a
cockroach inside. I hear that in his next movie, he moves his hands in his
pockets, making it look bigger than a cockroach!* Ha Ha! For a moment there
we thought you were Indians, but only Pakistanis watch the latest Hindi
movies. We have information that some Indians may come this way to kill
Dawood.
Santa gave Banta a silly grin. Just as they were passing through, the
soldiers suddenly called from behind them, Halt!
Banta's heart gave a lurch. He turned tremblingly. Haanji?
Oh! You were looking for the woods. Just follow this road until you come to
a big mansion which says 'Dawood Ibrahim'. Beyond that a few meters away are

the woods. Enjoy yourselves! Or rather, relieve yourselves!
Banta sighed with relief and thanked them. When they were out of hearing he

where Dawood stays. Let's complete our mission.
Look! said Santa, I will help you kill Dawood, but I will not take him
double seat on this cycle!
Why will we want to take him double seat after killing him?
Oh, to give him an Islamic burial at sea, of course. And the sea is quite
far from here.

 army men stopped them. Halt! Where do you think you are going?
Banta cleared his throat and said, We have come from far to shower
blessings on the couple.
Immediately, the two army men caught them and took them aside. A huge
contingent of army men surrounded them. Ah! So you are the two rascals from

India, who have come to kill Dawood.
Santa drew himself erect and shouted, Pakistan Zindabad! Hindustan
Zindabad!
The army man nearest to him clamped his mouth and whispered, Don't shout!
We have also seen Gadar, probably before you got to see it! You want
everyone to know? Tell us what you brought to kill him?
Banta swaggered and said, We have brought a brave heart and a lion's
courage.
Idiots! said the Pakistani. You cannot kill Dawood with a heart. Here
take this machine gun!
What? You are helping us?
Of course! Do you realize how much it costs us to protect Dawood and
provide his family with 24 x 7 security? Almost half of Pakistani GDP goes
into that. If you kill Dawood, our economy will get a much needed fillip.

purchase wheat directly from farmers that year resulting in a paucity of
wheat to stock FCI granaries. By July 2007 the shortage at FCI was large
enough to require import of wheat at a much higher price of 320-360 USD/ton.
Taking advantage of this, traders who had domestically purchased wheat at
900 INR/ton earlier, were now offering the same to FCI at 1,300 INR/ton. Mr
Pawar was accused of creating artificual shortage in the domestic markets
allowing traders affiliated with his insitutions to hoard grains and then
dump them on FCI to make a clean profit of Rs 400/ ton.
Prem Gupta, president of Roller Mills Federation of India: “This is
scandalous. No one knows why the government is importing this expensive
wheat. This will cost the government Rs 17 per kg as against the local rate
of Rs 12 per kg.”
So how big was Pawar's gain? The government ordered the import of 57 Lak mt
of wheat at $325 per mt. And then later called for a another tender and has
placed an order for nearly 80 Lac mt at $390 per mt. The gain to the traders
were close to Rs 800 cr-Rs 1,000 cr with BJP alleging that Pawar affiliated
institutions may have made money to the tune of Rs 1,400 Cr. Market Insiders
have put Pawar direct benefit at about 1%-1.5% of the scam profit which is
close to Rs 120 cr.
Land Scams of 2004-2007
On October 27, 2007, the Bombay High Court served notices to institutions
headed by Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar and Sadanand Sule (Sharad Pawar’s
son-in-law) along with a corresponding notice served to the Maharashtra
Krishna Valley Development Corporation (MKVDC) on special privileges were
given to Pawar and his family. This was done in consideration of a Public
Interest Litigation No. 148 of 2006, filed by Shamsunder Potare alleging
that the land said allocations in Pune, made in 2002, were illegal. The
institutions and properties mentioned include: *

   - *Two 141.15-acre (0.5712 km2) plots given allotted to Vidya
   Pratishthan, an educational society headed by Sharad Pawar *
   - *A 2-acre plot allotted to Anant Smriti Pratishthan, headed by Ajit
   Pawar, the Maharashtra state minister for irrigation and Sharad Pawar’s
   nephew *
   - *A 32.12 acre plot allotted to Lavasa Corporation, owned by Sadanand
   Sule, Sharad Pawar’s son-in-law at the time. He handed over his stake in
   2006. *
   - *A 1-acre plot allotted to Shivajinagar Agriculture College *
   - *A 3-acre plot allotted to Sharadchandraji Scout and Guide Training
   Institute*

*The largest of all the scams that Pawar was involved was the Lavasa plot

ART OF GIVING [TALE OF TWO SEAS]

*A Tale of Two Seas*

Sitting in the Geography class in school, I remember how fascinated I was
when we were being taught all about the Dead Sea.

As you probably recall, the Dead Sea is really a Lake, not a sea (and as my
Geography teacher pointed out, if you understood that, it would guarantee 4
marks in the term paper!)

Its so high in salt content that the human body can float easily. You can
almost lie down and read a book! The salt in the Dead Sea is as high as 35%
- almost 10 times the normal ocean water. And all that saltiness has meant
that there is no life at all in the Dead Sea. No fish. No vegetation. No sea
animals. Nothing lives in the Dead sea.

And hence the name: Dead Sea.

While the Dead Sea has remained etched in my memory, I don't seem to recall
learning about the Sea of Galilee in my school Geography lesson. So when I
heard about the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea and the tale of the two seas
-I was intrigued.

Turns out that the Sea of Galilee is just north of the Dead Sea. Both the
Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea receive their water from river Jordan. And
yet, they are very, very different.

Unlike the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee is pretty, resplendent with rich,
colorful marine life. There are lots of plants. And lots of fish too. In
fact, the sea of Galilee is home to over twenty different types of fishes.

Same region, same source of water, and yet while one sea is full of life,
the other is dead. How come?

*Here apparently why. The River Jordan flows into the Sea of Galilee and
then flows out. The water simply passes through the Sea of Galilee in and
then out -and that keeps the Sea healthy and vibrant, teeming with marine
life.*

But the Dead Sea is so far below the mean sea level, that it has no outlet.
The
water flows in from the river Jordan, but does not flow out. There are no
outlet streams. It is estimated that over 7 million tons of water evaporate
from the Dead Sea every day. Leaving it salty. Too full of minerals. And
unfit for any marine life.

The Dead Sea takes water from the River Jordan, and holds it. It does not
give. Result? No life at all.

Think about it.

Life is not just about getting. Its about giving. We all need to be a bit
like the Sea of Galilee.
We are fortunate to get wealth, knowledge, love and respect. But if we don't
learn to give, we could all end up like the Dead Sea. The love and the
respect, the wealth and the knowledge could all evaporate. Like the water in
the Dead Sea.

If we get the Dead Sea mentality of merely taking in more water, more money,
more everything the results can be disastrous. Good idea to make sure that
in the sea of your own life, you have outlets. Many outlets. For love and
wealth -and everything else that you get in your life. Make sure you don't
just get, you give too.

Open the taps. And you'll open the floodgates to happiness.
Make that a habit. To share. To give.
And experience life. Experience the magic!

*my father aged 86 who is now with me had diarrhea with severe vomiting.
after administering with the oral substitute at home, he was moved to the
nearest decent hospital.
we were given consultation with the chief... whose behaviour and approach,
my father liked much.
dr.advised for admission and administration of various drips.
thus he was moved to a single occupancy room.
after some time one of the senior most doctors of the hospital visited the
room and enquired about the condition of father and the nursing services,
etc.
after 2 days, father got discharged and the cashier asked me to may a sum...
which was higher by Rs.300/- than my calculation.  when asked for the
reason... to my utter shock i was informed that Rs.300/- was charged for the
visit of the senior most doctor of the hospital, who visited as a guest to
eqnire, etc.
cursing my luck and after argument with the cash department, paid the amount
and brought back father to home.

HOME REMEDIES FOR ACIDITY.....

Chronic acidity has to undergo a prescribed treatment but to prevent acidity
or to handle it when it suddenly occurs, here are some home remedies
–

1. Drink two tall glasses of water in the morning. This helps wash out all
the excess acid and other impurities from the system. This also soothes off
the burning sensation if any.

2. Drink cold milk or vanilla ice cream. Within minutes, you will notice
relief from heartburn and other acidity problems.

3. Chew on a small piece of ginger and coriander. It enhances digestive
function.

4. Coconut water is a very good cure. It flushes out the excess acid from
your system and also soothes the harsh effects caused by it.

5. Tulsi or basil leaf prevents formation of excess acid. Take 10 tulsi
leaves everyday in the morning.

6. After fried or spicy food, drink a glass of luke warm water. This helps
in the digestion for the food and also burns the calories thus, preventing
weight gain.

7. Vegetables like drumsticks, beans, pumpkin, cabbage, carrot and spring
onions, enhance digestion.

8. If you feel symptom of the disease, take jaggery every hour. The
symptomswill subside gradually.

9. 1 tbsp of Chebulic Myroblan or haritaki along with amla, is a quick cure.

10. Fruit juice is good but never consumes it in empty stomach.

11. Sip on a lemon and sugar drink after meals to avoid acid formation. This
enhances the digestion power.

It generally is not a very serious illness can be cured with simple home
remedies but if it is a regular problem then medical care is needed.
Unattended acidity can lead to other serious illnesses.

*I was a MP not very long ago. I loved those six years. Everyone called me
sir, not because of my age but because I was a MP. And even though I never
travelled anywhere by train during those years, I revelled in the fact that
I could have gone anywhere I liked, on any train, first class with a bogey
reserved for my family. Whenever I flew, there were always people around to
pick up my baggage, not because I was travelling business class but because
I was a MP. And yes, whenever I wrote to any Government officer to help
someone in need, it was done. No, not because I was a journalist but because
I was a MP.

The job had many perquisites, apart from the tax free wage of Rs 4,000. Then
the wages were suddenly quadrupled to Rs 16,000, with office expenses of Rs
20,000 and a constituency allowance of Rs 20,000 thrown in. I could borrow
interest free money to buy a car, get my petrol paid, make as many free
phone calls as I wanted. My home came free. So did the furniture, the
electricity, the water, the gardeners, the plants. There were also
allowances to wash curtains and sofa covers and a rather funny allowance of
Rs 1,000 per day to attend Parliament, which I always thought was a MP's job
in the first place! And, O yes, we also got Rs 1 crore a year (now enhanced
to Rs 2 crore) to spend on our constituencies. More enterprising MPs enjoyed
many more perquisites best left to your imagination. While I was embarrassed
being vastly overpaid for the job I was doing, they kept demanding more.

Today, out of 543 MPs in Lok Sabha, 315 are crorepatis. That's 60%. 43 out
of the 54 newly elected Rajya Sabha MPs are also millionaires. Their average
declared assets are over Rs 25 crore each. That's an awfully wealthy lot of
people in whose hands we have vested out destiny. The assets of your average
Lok Sabha MP have grown from Rs 1.86 crore in the last house to Rs 5.33
crore. That's 200% more. And, as we all know, not all our MPs are known to
always declare all their assets. Much of these exist in a colour not
recognised by our tax laws. That's fine, I guess. Being a MP gives you
certain immunities, not all of them meant to be discussed in a public forum.

If you think it pays to be in the ruling party, you are dead right: 7 out of
10 MPs from the Congress are crorepatis. The BJP have 5. MPs from some of
the smaller parties like SAD, TRS and JD (Secular) are all crorepatis while
the NCP, DMK, RLD, BSP, Shiv Sena, National Conference and Samajwadi Party
have more crorepatis than the 60% average. Only the CPM and the Trinamool,
the two Bengal based parties, don't field crorepatis. The CPM has 1crorepati
out of 16 MPs; the Trinamool has 7 out of 19. This shows in the state-wise
average. West Bengal and Kerala have few crorepati MPs while Punjab and
Delhi have only crorepati MPs and Haryana narrowly misses out on this
distinction with one MP, poor guy, who's not a crorepati.

Do MPs become richer in office? Sure they do. Statistics show that the
average assets of 304 MPs who contested in 2004 and then re-contested last
year grew 300%. And, yes, we're only talking about declared assets here. But
then, we can't complain. We are the ones who vote for the rich. Over 33% of
those with assets above Rs 5 crore won the last elections while 99.5% of
those with assets below Rs 10 lakhs lost! Apart from West Bengal and the
North East, every other state voted for crorepati MPs. Haryana grabbed first
place with its average MP worth Rs 18 crore. Andhra is not far behind at 16.

But no, this is not enough for our MPs. It's not enough that they are rich,
infinitely richer than those who they represent, and every term makes them
even richer. It's not enough that they openly perpetuate their families in
power. It's not enough that all their vulgar indulgences and more are paid
for by you and me through back breaking taxes. It's not enough that the
number of days they actually work in Parliament are barely 60 in a year. The
rest of the time goes in squabbling and ranting. Now they want a 500% pay
hike and perquisites quadrupled. The Government, to buy peace, has already
agreed to a 300% raise but that's not good enough for our MPs. They want
more, much more.

And no, I'm not even mentioning that 150 MPs elected last year have criminal
cases against them, with 73 serious, very serious cases ranging from rape to
murder. Do you really think these people deserve to earn 104 times what the
average Indian earns? *

thanks for the kind words and comments on my uploaded videos in you tube.

there were some mails why i am using the fusion tracks for the videos.

i honestly love classical music though i am not a trained singer.
but for visual effects i feel fusion has a better edge
as far as the tracks i use is of kosmic audios sung by SAINDHAVI, UMA MOHAN
and GAYATHRI.
of course tracks were tuned by DEVAN MOOKKASSY...

ordinary DOSA served in a plate with chutney... now a days will not attract
many costumer...
but if the same is served in a melamine plate, with colorful chutneys [same
coconut with different colors]
under dim light gets more patrons.

kindly excuse me if my using the fusion tracks hurt any of the viewers...

Varalakshmi Puja is observed by married women in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka,
Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and other parts of South India. Goddess Lakshmi
– the goddess of wealth and prosperity – is worshipped on the day.
Varamahalkshmi  literally means the boon granting goddess.

The Friday before the Full Moon, or Pournami day, of Tamil Month Aavani is
chosen to perform Varalakshmi Puja. The corresponding month in the Kannada,
Marathi and Telugu Calendar is the Shravan month.

 Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on Varalakshmi Vrata day is equivalent to
worshipping Ashtalakshmi – the eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Learning,
Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength.


 The importance of Varalakshmi Puja is mentioned in the Skanda Purana. It is
believed that importance of Varalakshmi Puja was narrated to Goddess Parvati
by Lord Shiva.


 Goddess Parvati wanted to know about a Vrata that is highly beneficial to a
woman, which will help her lead a happy and prosperous life on earth. Lord
Shiva then mentioned about the Varamahalakshmi Vratam.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA) on Sunday
said it has decided to examine the issue of insurance companies withdrawing
the cashless facility for hospitalisation of patients to mediclaim policy
holders.

IRDA chairman Hari Narayan told Mail Today that 'appropriate action' would
be taken in the matter after discussing the issue with the concerned
stakeholders.

Let us examine the issue. We are gathering the background information from
the insurers. We would then take appropriate action, J Hari Narayan told
Mail Today on phone from IRDA's headquarters at Hyderabad. Asked whether
there had been a breach of trust between the mediclaim policy holders and
the insurers, he replied, Let me first get into the issue. It would be too
early to make any statement. The issue is being examined by us.

The move by insurance companies to withdraw the facility of cashless
hospitalisation has left the middle-class in a lurch.

At least 18 insurance companies, including public sector entities, have
withdrawn the cashless mediclaim policy facility and stopped direct payment
of treatment charges to high-end hospitals in Delhi, NCR and at other metros
like Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai from July 1.

The policy holders are fuming. They feel cheated. It's a breach of trust. I
availed the mediclaim policy for a year and paid Rs 30,000 for my family
members where they offered me cashless hospitalisation. How can they
write-off the agreed contract, says Rajesh Kumar, a resident of North
Delhi.

At least 100 hospitals in Delhi and NCR, besides other metros, have been
taken off the designated list of hospitals eligible to extend the cashless
facility of treatment. These hospitals include high-end ones like Max or
Medicity, Apollo, Fortis, Ganga Ram and other big hospital chains in Delhi
and NCR. Mediclaim policy holders who want to avail the facilities at these
hospitals, will now have to pay. They can then claim the amount from the
insurer with no guarantee that the entire amount would be reimbursed.

Taking serious note of the issue Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on
Sunday said the state government would take every possible step to ensure
that people are not held to ransom in the fight between hospitals and
insurance firms.

She promised to look into the issue. We will hold talks within a week and
try to find a solution to the problem, she said.

Terming it as a serious issue, Delhi health minister Kiran Walia said, We
are really concerned as we know the impact. We cannot allow somebody to hold
the patients to ransom in the fight (between insurers and hospitals), said
the health minister.

Industry bodies too have reacted sharply to the development. The chairman of
the Federation of Indian Chambers for Commerce and Industry (Ficci) health
services committee, Anjan Bose, termed it a retrograde move.

 This will put the policy holders, particularly the middle class patients,
who do not have ready cash available with them at a disadvantage. Such a
step will have adverse impact on the penetration of the health insurance
market in India, Bose said.

Insurance companies have been providing cashless services at over 3,000
hospitals across the country. Dr KK Aggarwal, president of the Heart Care
Foundation of India, said the cap on charges for particular treatment by
insurance agencies is a right move. But why should the policy holders
suffer, he said.

Each Friday night after workpsSardar would fire up his outdoor grill and
cook a tandoori chicken and some meat kebabs. But, all of his neighbors were
strict Catholics ... and since it was Lent, they were forbidden from eating
chicken and meat on a Friday.

The delicious aroma from the grilled meats was causing such a problem for
the Catholic faithful that they finally talked to their Priest. The Priest
came to visitSardar and suggested that he become a Catholic.  After several
classes and much study, Sardar attended Mass... and as the priest sprinkled
holy water over him, he said, You were born a Sikh, and raised a Sikh, but
now, you are a Catholic.

Sardar's neighbors were greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived. The
wonderful aroma of tandoori chicken and meat kebabs filled the neighborhood.
The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors and, as he rushed into
Sardar's backyard, clutching a rosary and prepared to scold him, he stopped
and watched in amazement.

There stood Sardar, holding a small bottle of holy water which he carefully
sprinkled over the grilling meats and chanted: Oye, you were born a
chicken, and you were born a lamb, you were raised a chicken and you were
raised a lamb but now you are a potato and tomato

After all, --Singh is King--

Thaipusam
*Thaipusam* (Tamil: தைப்பூசம்) is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the
Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (Jan/Feb). It is
also referred to as *Thaipooyam* or *Thaippooyam* in the Malayalam language.
The word *Thai-pusam* is derived from the month name *Thai* and *Pusam*,
which refers to a star that is at its highest point during the festival. The
festival commemorates both the birthday of Murugan (also *Subramaniam*), the
youngest son of god Shiva and his wife Parvati, and the occasion when
Parvati gave Murugan a *vel* (spear) so he could vanquish the evil demon
Soorapadman.

Skanda (or Murugan) was created during one of the battles between the Asuras
and the Devas. At one point, the latter were defeated several times by the
former. The Devas were unable to resist the onslaught of the Asura forces.
In despair, they approached Shiva and entreated to give them an able leader
under whose heroic leadership they might obtain victory over the Asuras.
They surrendered themselves completely and prayed to Shiva. Shiva granted
their request by creating the mighty warrior, Skanda, out of his own power
or Achintya Shakti. He at once assumed leadership of the celestial forces,
inspired them and defeated the Asura forces.

whatever in the left box and then press say it button and she says what you
have typed and her eyes will follow the pointer.

Turn up the volume.

She will say anything you type. I sure don't know how they do this!  When
you move the mouse around, her eyes follow the pointer.  When you write
something in the left space and then click on 'Say it,' she says it!
You can also change persons doing the talking and the language they speak.
Technology!  Wow !!
