[tw] Re: linked check boxes two seperate tiddlers.

2014-03-19 Thread Daniel Sandström
Some years later. I'm searching for the exact same thing...

In the ProjectOverview tidder I have a link to ProjectDetail1 where I have
checkboxes for every Detail1.1 Detail1.2 etc.

Structure:
*ProjectOverview
**ProjectDetail1
***Detail1.1
***Detail1.2
...

The functionality I'm searching for is simply: When Detail1.1 and Detail1.2
is finished, I check both of them and then the checkbox infront of
ProjectDetail1 in ProjectOverview is also checked.

Logical functionality:
if
Detail1.1 = [X] and Detail1.2 = [X] and ...
then
ProjectDetail1 = [X]
else
ProjectDetail1 = [_]

or implemented any other way, of course it would be nice if I wouldn't have
to add and [X=Detail1.x] for every new Detail I come up with. Thinking
out loud, would inverting the logic or making some sort of temporary memory
work...

On Monday, December 21, 2009 6:30:34 PM UTC+2, Linck Atlanta, Ga wrote:

 another checkbox in another tiddler is checked

 What I would REALLY like is to set up a checkbox which becomes checked
 if a set GROUP of checkboxes are checked. This is for a checklist in
 which i want to see if an entire category of things are complete or
 not.

I strongly recommend Tobias's Simpletree the most, unless somebody else can

[tw] Re: linked check boxes two seperate tiddlers.

2014-03-19 Thread Jack Levy
This is how I am doing what i think you want to do:

For Page1
''from here''

$list
filter=[!has[draft.of]tag[software]!tag[Installed_page1]sort[created]]
$checkbox tag=Installed_page1$link to={{!!title}}$view
field=title//$link/$checkbox
/$list

'To here''

$list
filter=[!has[draft.of]tag[software]tag[Installed_page1]sort[created]]
$checkbox tag=Installed_page1 $link to={{!!title}}$view
field=title//$link/$checkbox
/$list

For Page2
'from here''

$list
filter=[!has[draft.of]tag[software]!tag[Installed_page2]sort[created]]
$checkbox tag=Installed_page2$link to={{!!title}}$view
field=title//$link/$checkbox
/$list

''to here''

$list
filter=[!has[draft.of]tag[software]tag[Installed_page2]sort[created]]
$checkbox tag=Installed_page2 $link to={{!!title}}$view
field=title//$link/$checkbox
/$list

Once you get the two pages coded with these create the tiddler that you
want to show up in the list and tag it software. on both pages no the item
will show up in the from here list until you check it on that page

I hop this makes sense. if not let me know and i can add a file for you to
check out.

and there is only a hand full of TW5 plugins. So 99% of stuff you find if

 Hello Jack,

 The TW5 internal architecture is *radically* different from TWC. Thus,
 *none* of the TiddlyTools.com plugins, scripts, themes, etc. will work in
 TW5.

 I am planning on re-writing some of these for TW5; however, this is a
 considerable task (I have published over 200 separate addons) that will
 take many months of work. Of course, some TiddlyTools addons will simply
 become obsolete in TW5, as the features they provide will be included in
 the new TiddlyWiki5 core functionality.

 With regard to the AliasPlugin feature, much of this is already provided
 by the TW5 macro syntax, which allows you to define macro functions that
 output pre-defined wiki-formatted content and use parameters for text
 substitution within that output.

 Here's a link to the TW5 documentation:

Three methods:

1) use option txtTheme to set the theme interactively. The setting is
saved in a browser-based cookie
OR
2) create a tiddler, tagged with systemConfig, containing:
   config.options.txtTheme=NameOfTheme;
OR
3) use a URL param like this: .../twfilename.html#txtTheme:NameOfTheme

notes:
* method (1) does not set the *initial* default theme, but once set, it
will be applied in later sessions automatically, assuming that your browser
stores local cookie values (some browsers do not).
* method (2) sets the theme during startup, and will always use the same
theme, regardless of any alternative theme chosen later
* method (3) overrides any stored cookie value for txtTheme, but only for
the current session. It does not alter the stored cookie value and, if the
URL param is later omitted, the previously stored cookie value (if any) is
applied.

[tw] TWC - TW not saving \

2014-03-19 Thread skye riquelme
Hi All

Hope someone can help with a strange problem that I am encounting.

I make a lot of use of flat text files to store information, loading this
into a TW (via XMLHttpRequest()) ...in the processing of this data I
frequently look to line breaks in the txt file, using simple javascript
like text.split(\n). and this worked fine for many months.

Recently things started failing, and when I checked the code had changed to
.split(n)...I corrected the code.everything works fine...untill I
reload the page and again the \ is missing - note that the correction was
saved back tot he TW using UploadPlugin and UploadTiddlerPlugin.

Why does the \ character keep disappearing?

I have downloaded the file, corrected it with Note+++ and uplaoded
again.it all works well, until I open that tiddler in edit, and then
restore (done)the \ gets dropped again!!!

To make things worse... recently a functioning TW started failing and on
opening saying that some plugins failed... for example on checking a recent
case. Erics InlineJavascriptPlugin...reported as having failed...when I
checked it.. the line (early in the code)
match: \\script,
...was reading in my TW
match: \script,... note that again a \ has
disappeared I put the extra \ back into the code, saved via
UploadPluginand on reopening the TW the plugin failed because the
second \ is again missing.

So, what up with the character \. why is it being deleted when I save
the TW?

Thanks in Advance
Skye

[tw] Re: TW5 on IOS via TWEdit

2014-03-19 Thread Andrew Lister
Discovery, somewhat embarrassing: there is no problem with TWEdit, it's
just that to get from my node.js TW5 to a regular TW5, I wrongly used the
Download all tiddlers as static HTML button under the Control Panel. And
what I got, not surprisingly, was all tiddlers as a static i.e.
non-editable HTML file.

This made me realize that I didn't know how to generate an ordinary TW5
from the node.js version. I found the answer on another thread:

created: 2013112422060
modified: 2014002136779
tags: howto
title: How to build a TiddlyWiki5 from individual tiddlers
type: text/vnd.tiddlywiki

First install TiddlyWiki as described in [[Installing TiddlyWiki on Node.js]].

# Create an empty [[TiddlyWikiFolder|TiddlyWikiFolders]]
## Create a new folder in a convenient place (for example `~/MyWiki`)
## Create a file called `tiddlywiki.info` containing the following text:
##* `{themes: [tiddlywiki/vanilla,tiddlywiki/snowwhite]}`
## Create a subfolder called `tiddlers`
##* Alternatively, just copy the `editions/empty` folder from the TiddlyWiki5
repo
# Create individual TiddlerFiles in the `~/MyWiki/tiddlers` directory
# Execute the following command from the TiddlyWiki5 root directory to build a
TiddlyWiki5 file from the tiddlers:
## `tiddlywiki ~/MyWiki --rendertiddler $:/core/save/all index.html text/plain`

Haven't tried it yet, but I will. Reason: Have the main TW on my computer, but
download it to iPad to carry around when lecturing, so I'm not stuck behind the
podium.

Would it be possible to make all of this into a button?

Thanks,

Andrew

 vanish. Even the write button (the pen) doesn't work. I will ask for
 help on the other Group.

 Thanks,

 Andrew

 You could try the google group:

 The developer is always helpful and responds to messages.

 I managed to open my tiddlywiki on iOS with TWEdit, but there is no
 right-hand side bar, and the buttons don't work. I'm not surprised about
 the buttons, because I modified those, but the sidebar I haven't messed
 with. The TW opens with all of the tiddlers displayed, it seems, but no
 timeline or basic controls. Are other people successfully using TWEdit
 with TW5?

 Thanks,

2014-03-19 Thread Xavier Cazin
Hi Andrew,

A download button to retrieve a snapshot of a server instance actually
exists, although it does not overload the regular download button, as one
might expect. It is hidden in the server tab that is created in the
ControlPanel when running the node.js version.

By the way, it may be worth noting that while the html file you get with
the normal download button is not directly usable, you still can drag and
drop it on a running wiki in order to retrieve saved tiddlers. I was glad I
could do that after my server got stuck and no sync was possible.

Best,
Xavier.
