GieWiki is based on:
var version = { title: "TiddlyWiki", major: 2, minor: 4, revision: 1, date:
new Date("Aug 4, 2008"), extensions: {}}

The internal "storeArea" format used by TiddlyWiki has changed over the
past 7 1/2 years, so the format being used by GieWiki is simply so
out-of-date that it cannot be recognized by newer versions of either
TiddlyWiki Classic or TiddlyWiki5.

Hey Måns,

Here's that example. I primarily use Chrome on Windows, but I can also
confirm that it works in Internet Explorer and Safari on iPhone iOS 9.

[tw] Re: Giewiki. Import tiddlers?

2016-02-21 Thread Dan Leahu
Hi

I've tried to import a tiddlywiki from GieWiki, but it says 0 tiddlers to
import.
Tried with exported tiddlyspace file and also the empty.html file from the
distribution.
Any idea why? also
Tried to use provided ImportTiddlers plugin, didn't work. Then tried to
paste the ImportTiddlers plugin from tiddlyspot.com, but didn't work either
- is there any alternative plugin?

Also, any plans for searching in lazy tiddlers, i.e with a rest service or
similar?

Thank you
Dan

[tw] Re: [TW5] Plugins within Plugins, Shadows within Shadows

2016-02-21 Thread Scott Simmons (Secret-HQ)
In case anyone's curious, the short answer is:

*Plugins with plugins are problematic.* A plugin embedded in another won't
be loaded as a plugin and won't function as intended. (Unless, of course,
you open and save it after installing the parent plugin, "upgrading" the
child plugin from shadow tiddler to a full-fledged tiddler.)

Also of note:

Tiddlers from the core are loaded before any user-created tiddlers
(including those loaded from plugins), so you could indeed create a
personal core of settings and core tiddler modifications or replacements
that would override the default behaviors of a vanilla TiddlyWiki — as long
as none of the tiddlers within that personal core were plugins themselves.

The $:/core itself has a plugin-priority field with a value set to 0. At a
glance, it looks like plugins with this value set are evaluated first, in
ascending order of value, then plugins without a plugin-priority are
evaluated. So if you wanted to create a personal core to overwrite the TW
core's functions without impacting any other plugins you might install, you
should be able to do that by giving it a plugin-priority of 1.

A *better* solution than a personal core may be a personal plugin library —
akin to what Jed and Tobias have created for their plugins. In my case,
I'd put the library online, and anyone who wanted to pull from it would be
welcome to, but the real intent would be to make my customizations,
settings and plugins available to *me*. I'd create a small plugin pointing
to my online plugin library; drag *that* into a new, empty TiddlyWiki; and
then use it to import my collection of personal plugins (and other
assorted, sundry tiddlers) from my online "TiddlyWarehouse."

2016-02-21 Thread Jan

I think thats the way it works, the license is about re-distributing the
lib (as well as usage in this case).

It would be the user (you in this case) who would have to comply with any
restrictions of the license. If I remember correctly you would be able to
use the license for non-commercial use. As you do want to be
re-distributing the source it would be better to keep the lib as a separate
file.

I think ABc works with chrome - its only my demo that's agnostic as chrome
doesn't like html pages to download libs from github - as I do in this
demo.

Ah - sorry BJ. I mixed things up.. I was actually referring to your abc
example/prrof of concept, when I asked if Rowan's Vextab macro works on
Chrome...

Do you say it is ok to create/publish a plugin which excludes the lib,
which has to be downloaded and added to TW by the end user - to make it
work offline? ( - not to conflict with the different licenses)

If I was the end user of the lib, a VexTab plugin (and TW of course) -
would the differences in licenses prevent me from publishing my personal TW

Abc looks promising even though it doesn't seem to be browser agnostic.

Yes, the widget view Jeremy already implemented shows such dynamic

It's built-in, and works for bitmap images (jpg, png, gif). Try this:

* Go to http://tiddlywiki.com/#Motovun%20Jack.jpg
* Edit the tiddler
* Move the mouse over the image, note the cursor changes to a crosshair
* Click and drag to scribble.
* Whee!

[tw] Image annotating

2016-02-21 Thread andrew levy
I saw in a video Jeremy annotating/scribbling over the top of an image
inside a tiddler. How do you do this? Is it an inbuilt function or does it
require a plugin?

thanks

andrew

[tw] Re: transclude tag

2016-02-21 Thread Tobias Beer
Hi Andrew,

You need to use a template, for example, the inner content of a list widget:

<$list filter="[tag[Widgets]sort[title]]">
<$link><$view field="title"/>
<$transclude mode="block"/>

Best wishes,

Tobias.

Re: [tw] Re: TWC: Using TW as a musical scratchpad with BopLand.org services

2016-02-21 Thread BJ
http://abcmusic.tiddlyspot.com/rHI folks,

As can be seen from posts earlier in this thread, the license for vextab
stops us from including it as a plugin. Having said that, there is nothing
stop the writing of a plugin that interfaces to it and requiring the user
to download the lib.

One alternative is the ABC system, which I made a proof of concept demo
here:

http://abcmusic.tiddlyspot.com/

there is a thread about it here:

Hi Rowan

Great :-)

Does it work on Chrome too? (As I recall BJ's example only worked on FF)
Would you mind sharing a working example on tiddlyspot?

It would be great to have a music scratchpad in a TiddlyWIki again :-)

At the moment I use MuseScore to create guitar tabs on a pc/mac.
I share interactive scores & videoscores on musescore.org.
It also provides an option to embed scores online. I do this in a
TiddlyWiki.
MuseScore can export to pdf, mp3's and images - so It is pretty straight
forward to have a collection of offline scores in a usable format.

On mobile devices I use a musescore app to download, store, play and view
scores.
It is very stable and the workflow is seemless - all the way from creating
a score in the (free) MuseScore program on a pc/mac/linux box. Here you can
save a score directly to musescore.org. (up to 5 scores for free).

Cheers Måns Mårtensson

Btw. I'm not affiliated with MuseScore in any way - just a happy
user/customer :-)
