Re: [tips] Anyone Got Some Yogurt To Spare?
Hi 1. As Michael P's previous post on Hugh Grant makes clear, "fertility" is not always an important consideration in men's sexual activity. 2. Given the earth cannot sustain the number of people projected to occupy it in the near future, perhaps psychologists should direct their energies to discouraging yogurt consumption. 3. Who funded the research? Take care Jim James M. Well, while on the topic of romantic relationships and delayed gratification, comedians at the time (1995) had a lot of fun on Hugh Grant's account after he was arrested in Los Angeles for being fellatioed by street sex worker "Divine" Brown. At the time, Grant was in a relationship with Elizabeth Hurley, a beautiful actress and model, and the joke was "how hard-up was Grant to get a BJ from a street walker in a car while he had Elizabeth Hurley at home?" [tips] Botox/Darwin/Ekman
- Original Message - Obviously, all three have to do with facial muscles.Recent research indicating that individuals undergoing and who have had botox applications are virtually free from migraine headaches suggest that botox could be adjunctive to modifying migraines.Extrapolating from Ekman's facial feedback theory, botox may similarly manipulates facial muscles and impacts emotional wellness alleviating migraine conditions-an implication that static and dynamic conditions of facial muscles may play a role in perseverating brain discomfort. [tips] United Stats of America
Forgive me if someone mentioned this already...Tonight (5/8) is the series premiere of "United Stats of America" on the History Channel. According to their website, "The United Stats of America reveals the stories behind the most interesting and surprising statistics in American history, stories that tell us more about who we are as individuals and as a nation." I figured Tipsters who teach statistics might find the show interesting. Below is a link to their website. http://www.history.com/shows/united-stats-of-america Thanks. FML Frank M. RE:[tips] Pay to publish journals
I had a paper published in Perceptual and Motor Skills, and although there were no page charges, there was a requirement to purchase a (huge) number of reprints (want some? :). I always looked on that as sort of an archive of arcane or almost-interesting research. I'm not sure about Psychology Research, though. But I wouldn't call it common, at least as far as I know -- I don't publish much. m -- Marc Carter, PhD Associate Professor of Psychology Chair, Department of Behavioral and Health Sciences College of Arts & Sciences Baker University -- > -Original Message- > From: Shapiro, Susan J [mailto:sjsha...@indiana.edu] > Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2012 12:30 PM > To: Teaching in the Psychological Sciences (TIPS) > Subject: [tips] Pay to publish journals > > A colleague has asked me about "pay to publish" journals in Psychology. > > He has a paper accepted at > Psychology Research > David Publishing Company > http://www.davidpublishing.com > > They want $50 a page to publish the article. > > I know that this is becoming increasingly common in some fields, but I > would like your opinion on this type of journal in Psychology. > > We do have pressure to publish at our institution (Though not as much > as research focused institutions) and he works in a relatively obscure > area. > > Suzi > > S.
