Re: Problems With Caching [tomcat 4.23]

2004-01-15 Thread Phillip Calçado

Hi,

I've already did it, in fact the production server is this way (as JSP
creation/modification is very important in this app), but it has those
problems too. I've used about 5 different browsers :P .

Thanks for your help, anyway.

Are you using IE ? If you are you may want to check the following setting,

Tools->Internet Options->General Tab->Settings.button->Check for newer versions of
stored pages...

Howdy,
You may wish to set reloadable=true for your context. Another thing to check is that
you clear your browser's cache between accesses. Your browser may be caching the page.

Problems With Caching [tomcat 4.23]

2004-01-14 Thread Phillip Calçado

Hi everyone,

I'm getting some troubles using JSPs. Sometimes, I or one of the application
users change a template that is used to produce a new jsp file in
webapps/Application/, it's made by an servlet application. The application
creates or modify the file exactly as it should, but when I try to access the
JSP via browser, I see the older version.

Ok, I modified directly, using VI, the JSP file, and tryied again. It still
shows de older one. I try to empty my whole work dir, the problem persists. I
delete the JSP file using some kind of "rm Cal019202.jsp' (the name of the
file is given by that application), but I still can see it (the older one) in
the broser!!

The only way I couldo see the changes is tor estart Tomcat. I'm not using
"Context Properties - Override = true", "Context Properties - Reloadable =
true" or "Loader Properties - Reloadable = true", all of those are false. My
server clock is ok.

Anyone could please help me?

Thanks,

Re: Problems with caching?

2001-04-06 Thread Scott Tatum

Are you using the include file directive to include the files? If you
are, then that is the problem. JSP's won't recompile if a file they
include is updated, only if the jsp file itself is updated. There are
two ways to get around this:

1. Load the jsp file and save it (may have to add a space, remove it,
then save or something similar)
2. Use the touch command unix to update the timestamps on all your jsp
files. This will cause them all to recompile. (e.g. go to your dir with
the jsp's and do a "touch *.jsp") This might be preferable since you are
dealing with header includes.

Hope this helps.

Problems with caching?

2001-04-06 Thread Melissa Matthews
Title: Problems with caching?

Does anyone know if there is a problem with regular HTML files being somehow cached by Tomcat 3.2.1 on Solaris 2.8?   I have replaced

some HTML header pages, but I still see the old ones.  I have searched and can not find those files anywhere.  If I go
directly to an shtml file that includes the HTML header files, it shows the new header, but the JSP pages always show
the old headers.  I tried renaming the header to another name and then the JSP page showed the new header.

I have deleted all of the pages from the work directory.

Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.
