  This is my first attempt to report something, so probably I'm doing

  There is no way of using Yahoo calendars in gnome-calendar. It's
  impossible to add, even through Evolution, as it's using wrong URL I
  assume. The correct URL should be
  
https://caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/dav/YOUR_USERNAME/Calendar/YOUR_CALENDARNAME,
  working with Lightning/Thunderbird.

Hi,

I can get xorg working if I do these 2 things:

1) Edit memory with gdb to add "pci:" to bus id. This is what the kernel
patch should do. I will test the patch soon, I am just waiting for the
kernel to build.

2) Install this /etc/X11/xorg.conf:

Section "ServerFlags"
Option "AutoAddGPU" "off"
EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "dja"
Driver "modesetting"
BusID "pci:0007:161:0:0"
EndSection


This does 2 things:
 - AutoAddGPU prevents the card from falsely being marked as GPU. I am not yet 
fully sure why that is required.

 - The Device section then specifies the busid and driver specifically.
This forces the driver to be loaded correctly.

This Xorg configuration should not be required in the long term. There
are obviously still some bugs to be fixed. But, I wanted to let you know
that progress was being made and give you good news.

Attached is a screenshot of Xeyes over KVM.

As the seccomp manpage points out, after seeing a SECCOMP_RET_TRACE, a
tracer can set nr to -1 to skip the syscall. Similarly, one task could
be debugging another seccomp'd task, simply doing PTRACE_SYSCALL without
using SECCOMP_PTRACE, and want to make the tracee skip a syscall by
setting nr to -1.

However, the way libseccomp checks for X86_SYSCALL_BIT wrongly catches
nr == -1. This kills any application using -1 to skip a syscall.  This
means that any such application running under lxd, which uses libseccomp
to set its seccomp policies, fails.

libseccomp upstream has been fixed, see
https://github.com/seccomp/libseccomp/issues/80 .  Ideally this fix
would be cherrypicked into both artful and xenial.

  On a server under Ubuntu 12.04 I automatically update firewall rules and I 
unfortunately noticed that if 2 rules are processed at the same time it leads 
to an inconsistent result between iptables and ufw status.
  In fact it can be reproduced using the python script in attachment.

  Before executing this script I didn't have any rules matching the ip 
192.168.254.1 on my computer.
  After a launch iptables takes into acount 464 rules.

  sudo iptables -L -n | grep 192.168.254.1 | wc -l
  464

  It should be 500 rules but the script stressed a lot my system and all rules 
can't be processed by iptables
  sudo ./test_ufw_threads.py

  Anyway, ufw stores only the last updates (in /lib/ufw/user.rules):

  - The applet doesn't list any wireless network.
  - The applet doesn't show the name of the current network.

  Bug seen in Evolution - fails to connect to my google accounts on
  second log-in.  Accounts are set up fine, but after a log out then log
  back in, they fail.

  Error reported in Evolution is:
  "Failed to authenticate: Failed to obtain an access token for 
'--@gmail.com':Failed to retrieve credentials from the keyring" 

  It is fixed by running "/usr/lib/gnome-online-accounts/goa-daemon
  --replace" in the terminal.

  I found the bug described and confirmed on redhat, where I also found the 
solution. (although they have the goa-demon in the /usr/libexec/ folder)

  As a work-around, for each user account I created a new file in
  ~/.config/autostart/ called goa-replace.desktop, and in a text-editor
  entered the following:

  NoDisplay=true
  Terminal=false
  Type=Application

  The problem seems to be that dbus is spawning goa-daemon, but then not

  Not sure what the *real* solution is, seems to be a big debate about
  how systemd leaves 'lingering' processes from users after log out.  I
  see 28 processes left running after a user logs out.  Surely this
  needs to be cleaned up???  Is there a better way to force systemd to
  properly close a users session?

Hi Andrew!

In Qt 5.7, the GTK+ support was restructured:

* qt5-gtk-platformtheme contains GTK+ 3 platform theme *only* (i.e. native 
dialogs and icon theme).
* qt5-style-plugins contains GTK+ 2 platform theme *and* style.

So if you want the old GTK+ style, then the correct solution is install
qt5-style-plugins and export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2.

  2) gnome-keyring: 3.18.3-0ubuntu2
  3) Login. gnome-keyring unlocks "login" features including for google chrome
  4) gnome-keyring is not unlocked, chrome takes 2 minutes to open and with no 
secure password features(sync) functioning.

  For the past couple days, chrome on Ubuntu 16.04 takes a REALLY long
  time (maybe 2 minutes) to start. Once chrome is started, I am not able
  to sync and any secure password features are broken. I found out this
  is due to gnome-keyring not being unlocked at login. There's also no
  way to unlock the "login" portion of the keyring from the running
  daemon by default. I have to kill the gnome-keyring process and start
  without "--login" as a parameter. Then the "login" section shows up
  which I'm able to unlock. From there chrome starts up instantly but
  asks the following:

  Enter password to unlock your login keyring
  The login keyring did not get unlocked when you logged into your computer

  After that, all of it's sync and secure features are functional.

  Starting google-chrome-stable from a command line at boot without
  running the above workaround shows the following error messages:

  Gkr-Message: secret service operation failed: Did not receive a reply. 
Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the 
message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or

  In a freshly booted and fully updated Ubuntu 16.10 the edit window of
  gedit is transparent using the *Classic* colour scheme. Other colour
  schemes seem to work as intended.

  The text of loaded files shows against the desktop wallpaper but when
  no files are loaded gedit displays its edit window or pane as it
  should do.

  To clarify this bug is only apparent when a file is loaded.

  I don't know when this started as I don't normally used gedit to edit
  files. I haven't found any other application affected by this problem.

  I have reported it on the ubuntu support forums and after
  investigation a moderator noticed changed in the kernel from 4.4 and
  4.2 that may becausing the issue and asked me to file a bug report.

As others have stated on this thread, this is a major bug, and just
another reason not to use Linux.  It's a great OS in general terms but
has never been ready for prime time.  It's a very small percentage of
the public willing to tinker with the OS on a fundamental level, and an
even smaller percentage willing to work in a command line to fix or
install programs.  It's just not practical and takes a level of patience
and skill 99.99% of the population don't possess.  Take the lead of
Windows and Mac.  Click on something and have it install, and more
importantly, just work.  This bluetooth bug is simply the tip of the
iceberg.

That being said, I like Linux and will continue to use it.  Makes me
feel like a rebel!

Honestly though, it's never been an easy operating system to work with
with.  It's buggy and complicated.  It fights you continuously.

I run the latest Kubuntu, which I personally like the best, but have
tried dozens of iterations over the years.

I did find a workaround, but it's not exactly convenient.

While connected to your bluetooth device...

1. Configure your audio profile to HSP/HFP and save it.

2. Disconnect bluetooth device.

3. Reconnect bluetooth device.

4. Configure your audio profile back to A2DP

Should hold during the session.  I have to do it every reboot.  could
probably script it.

  In 16.04 when a bluetooth audio device is connected it freezes video
  playback and also no sound comes from online audio only streams. Issue
  does not exist with a wired headset.

  This issue does not exist with 15.10. All updates have been installed
  on 16.04 including backports but they have not fixed the issue.

  It is not browser specific and not website specific.

  It is not hardware specific as it affects my laptop with an intel 7260
  card and my pc with an intel 8260 card.

  The issue exists on both ubuntu and kubuntu 16.04.

  I have reported it on the ubuntu support forums and after
  investigation a moderator noticed changed in the kernel from 4.4 and
  4.2 that may becausing the issue and asked me to file a bug report.

  IPv6 temporary/privacy addresses lifetime are not renewed upon new
  ICMPv6 Router-Advertisement packet

Bug description:
  My ISP's router provides IPv6 connectivity and advertises valid
  lifetime of 900 secs and preferred lifetime of 300 secs. My Ubuntu
  17.04 (and previous) installation has been showing weird behavior over
  IPv6, with connections dropping quite often but on a regular basis.

  After extensive debugging and verification that there was no issue on router 
side, and on WiFi physical connection, I have verified that this was not 
related to the lack of ICMPv6 RA packets.
  Running |watch -d -n1 ip -6 addr show dev wlan0| shows:
   - decreasing valid_lft and preferred_lft on both IPv6 addresses
   - upon ICMPv6 RA packet received, the global SLAAC address derived from MAC 
gets valid_lft and preferred_lft field updated
   - at the same time, the privacy extension address is still decreasing

  System uses NetworkManager to handle all of that. I could verify that
  my desktop system, running Debian Sid with NetworkManager v1.6 was not
  exposing the issue.

  Running NetworkManager in debug mode gives more informations:

  The two timestamps of the NEWADDR event are very very close. The first
  one shows proper update of the lifetimes values ; while the second one
  shows invalid values being pushed. With those informations in mind, I
  dug a little bit in the NetworkManager source code, and I found that
  there was one change between v1.4.4 (current Zesty package) and v1.6
  (Debian sid package) that was touching the code handling IPv6
  addresses sync:

  temporary addresses changes.

  I took my chance and rebuilt network-manager-1.4.4 package with that

  gets proper updates of their lifetime when ICMPv6 packets reaches my
  system.

Yes, I have this problem in xubuntu 17.04.

getent hosts  works with unqualified names
systemd-resolve  works with unqualified names
host  doesn't work
dig  doesn't work

Adding 'search ' to /etc/resolv.conf fixes the problem, so as a
workaround I have added this to /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head.

  When opencryptoki is installed, it creates a symlink from /etc/pkcs11
  to /var/lib/opencryptoki, which is readable only by root.

  This means that anything using p11-kit to find the PKCS#11 modules
  which are configured to be available in the system (which is basically
  any well-behaved application) now breaks:

  I use a VPN configured with network-manager-openconnect-gnome in which
  a split-horizon DNS setup assigns different addresses to some names
  inside the remote network than the addresses seen for those names from
  outside the remote network.  However, systemd-resolved often decides
  to ignore the VPN’s DNS servers and use the local network’s DNS
  servers to resolve names (whether in the remote domain or not),
  breaking the split-horizon DNS.

  This related bug, reported by Lennart Poettering himself, was closed with the 
current Fedora release at the time reaching EOL:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1695702] [NEW] dhclient doen't renew a lease on raspberry pi

OS version: Ubuntu MATE 16.04 armhf
HW: raspberry pi 3B WITHOUT a battery backed up RTC
package verison: isc-dhcp-client 4.3.3-5ubuntu12.6

How to reproduce this bug: Power off a raspberry pi machine (without a battery 
backed up RTC: this is default)
longer than DCHP lease time. Then power it on. Then, DHCP lease is not renewed.

Work around: After correct date is set (by NTP or manually), reboot
again.

Cause of the bug: Right after boot, Rapsberry pi (without a battery
backed up RTC) uses the last shutdown time as a current time. When
dhclient obtains a DHCP lease, it sets a renewal time to the incorrect
current time plus renewal time and set an interval timer (which is
maintained by relative time). Sooner or later, the system gets correct
time from NTP and the system current time jumps. When the interval timer
expires, dhclient first compares current time (which is now correct) and
the lease expire time (which is computed based on incrrect time) and
shifts to the state EXPIRED. Cf. functions bind_lease() and
state_bound() in dhclient.c

Somehow, I cannot build dhclient from the source code obtained by apt-get 
source.
However, I could build dhclient (4.3.5) from a tarball from ISC website and the 
same problem occurred.
I modified some source files:
   use clock_gettime(CLOCK_BOOTTIME, *) instead of gettimeofday in appropriate 
places
   modify lease file read/write functions to convert time from boot to 
(possibly incorrect) time in GMT.
With the modifed dhclient, dhcp leases are correctly renewed on my machines, so 
far.
I use IPV4 over ethernet only and I have no idea what to do with tr.c 
(functions for token ring) which calls gettimeofday.
But if I understand correctly, I believe mixture use of absolute times and 
relative times is responsible for the bug.
