Thank you for reviewing the tests. I have configured the code to ignore
the capitalisation tests for Kannada in future versions of Pootle.
Pootle 1.2.1 should be out very soon. (The current software on the
server will still complain about them until we deploy the new version.)

The use of the single quotes look a bit strange to me - I was wondering
if a Kannada user wouldn't be able to distinguish the English without
the quotes anyway. Alternatively, you could just use things like
'jToolkit' or 'Python' without change (many languages do it that way).
But for now, I'm packaging this translation as you provided it, and of
course, we can continue to improve it in future versions.

I'm not sure if things like the spacing errors are all intended, and the
printf error is definitely a problem. (I just made the unit fuzzy.)

I still not sure about the plural forms for Kannada. Most sources say
Kannada has only one noun form (nplurals=1), but your translations
contains two different forms for plural units. The header currently does
not specify any information - I still wanted to get it confirmed.

I'd like to enable the language in the installation of Pootle 1.2.1, but
we need the proper plural information, and I'd like to know that the
tests are all reviewed and the interface tested. Either way, it will be
distributed with Pootle 1.2.1.

Keep well
Friedel

Well done! Thank you for your translation. I won't be of any help
personally, but I can point you to the quality checks of Pootle:
http://pootle.locamotion.org/kn/pootle/index.html?editing=0showchecks=1

These are some tests that Pootle do on the translations to try to look
for places where you might to improve the translation. Some of the tests
are only warnings, or might not necessarily indicate an error. For more
information on the quality checks, see this page:
http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/toolkit/pofilter_tests
Furthremore I would suggest just using the software a lot. I think your
use of the English words in brackets might perhaps cause some problems
here and there. You might want to reconsider that.

Pootle 1.2 is already released, but version 1.2.1 should be out quite
soon. If you are able to review the quality checks, your translation
could see the world quite soon, I think!

Keep well
Friedel

Great to see you getting started. In your account preferences, you an
set the language used for the user interface. When you log in, you can
override this language by choosing something else than the default. If
your browser is configured to request Kannada, Pootle should
automatically use that as the interface language for new users (who are

Hallo Shankar

Welcome to the Pootle community. I just added Kannada to the list of
languages on the server, and added the Pootle project for translation:
http://pootle.locamotion.org/kn/pootle/

Are you familiar with the PO plural information used for Kannada? For
now I didn't add anything - we can easily add this later. It just means
that units with plural forms will be skipped for the moment.

Feel free to register at the server, and start with the file called
pootle.po - these messages are used the most in Pootle. If you have any
problems where the visual styling of the user interface is not good for
Kannada, I hope we can work on quickly improving the styling (font, text
size, etc.).

Keep well
Friedel
