In the new testamnt, it occurs 137 times; 100 of those times used by Christ. Kingdom of heaven, of God, kingdom, It is almost always physical in the Old -- nearly always spiritual in the New/ Faather is used twice in the Old in reference to God; 256 times in the New !!! children of Israel in the Old children of God in the new. Re: [TruthTalk] The Kingdom
Yes, of course and thank you for asking. And the 60 year old said the word "Cool!" I am still thinking and praying about this. but think about this: "kingdom" as in kingdom of heaven (and etc.) is a NT idea. Father as in Father God is a NT idea -- or perhaps I shouldsay"emphasis." Sonship is NT. But more than this --what about "saved" and "lost."Not OT. for in the OT, they were simply destroyed or left alone unless they were the children of Israel. Reconciliation is a NT reality -- very little said about it in the Old. so when Jere 31:34 forcasts a covenant "not like the one " they had when they came from Egypt -- well it was, in deed, different. Back in the old days, when I was in school, I was taught that the NCovenant would not be similar to . All of the above puts emphasis into that idea. Kingdom -- the biblical message moves from a national idea of kingdom to a supernational idea, perhaps. I am curious as to the changes in the thinking of the Jews during the inter-testament period. Did they come to speak of God as their Father during that time, or is this type of speech pretty much original with Christ. Did I say "Christ?" Even the reality about Him and His coming was different than the Jews supposed. "Kingdom" is used differently -- much to do and so little time, Charles Perry. Hopefully, those 178 times the Lord used the word will be enough to get into His mind, as it were, and gather His thinking. He is breaking with tradition, thats for sure -- so "kingdom" epistemology may be of limited help. Give me a minute !! So we have Adam on the Throne in Dan 7 with reference notesat the bottom of p 1112 KJV 1979 LDS Church that point to he who sits on the throne in revelation, who is called God. So is Adam the Ancient of days God? http://scriptures.lds.org/dc/27DC 27:11 And also with Michael, or Adam, the father of all, the prince of all, the ancient of days http://scriptures.lds.org/dc/116DC 118:1 SPRING Hill is named by the Lord Adam-ondi-Ahman, because, said he, it is the place where Adam shall come to visit his people, or the Ancient of Days shall sit, as spoken of by Daniel the prophet. http://scriptures.lds.org/dc/138DC 138:38 Among the great and mighty ones who were assembled in this vast congregation of the righteous were Father Adam, the Ancient of Days and father of all, http://scriptures.lds.org/bdr/rsrrctnBible Dictionary ( p 761 BD)Heading Ressurection: "Jesus Christ was the first to be resurrected on this earth ,... whereas a resurrection means to become immortal, without blood, yet with a body of flesh and bone." http://scriptures.lds.org/bdf/fllfdmBD p 570 Heading Fal: "Before the fall, Adam and Eve had physical bodies but no blood." Since ressurected Bodies have no blood could you tell me what planet Adam was ressurected on? Was he a god, yet? Was he resurrected before jesus? TPJS p 157 Adam is said to "preside over the spirits of all men" And is the Oldest man therefore ancient of days At the bottom of the page the references given for the Ancient of days includes Rv 5:11 11:19 20:12 In Revelation it is "our God which sitteth upon the throne" Rv 1:4 3:21 7:10,15 14:5 22:1 Again we find the evidence for the Fruit of mormonism in the Standard works which have already been verified by membership vote. This led Brigham and a few others to preach the Doctrine (not theory) of Adam as god. "When our father Adam came into the garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body, and brought Eve, one of his wives, with him. He helped to make and organize this world.
