Yeah, this complicated relationship can be felt when looking at Star Trek, which was split between CBS (everything but film) and Paramount (film library and the new films). You can argue that CBS has not been as supportive of the new films as it is the other parts of Trek, and the rollout of the new television show may bear that out.
