Hi. We had same issues on HP-UX. Be sure to have at least 900 MFILES. Consider increasing RAM (to disk cache) Use UVTEMP on a different disk controller than DB. (even better use ramdisk) And the most important: the right size of big files. Try different separation. I got best results with separation of 32. Out of curiosity... and I don't know much about this... but I've read a little bit about it... Are you using ZFS as the underlying Solaris filesystem? If so, I think it has a lot of tweaking options, as well as other options that might play havoc if untested with UV. Things like compression, the way RAID-Z handles things, etc. In Fact, I think Oracle ended up recommending in one article I read to not use RAID-Z for some database implementations, but, just use the ZFS mirroring, because the performance was that much better. When I try to install UV 10.2.8 personal edition I get a File Transfer error 0 and big OK. The window says Universe is configuring your software installation Does anyone have any idea what would cause this condition? Sorry, I should have said that it is being installed on Windows XP SP2. When I try to install UV 10.2.8 personal edition I get a File Transfer error 0 and big OK.
