[Bug 53139] Re: module isn't installed

2006-07-19 Thread Lionel Porcheron
You probabily wanted to do a dpkg -L not a dpkg -S. A dpkg -L will show you
that the .pm file is present:
dpkg -L libnet-ssh-perl | grep .pm
/usr/share/perl5/Net/SSH.pm
/usr/share/man/man3/Net::SSH.3pm.gz

Same on Dapper and Edgy. Feel free to reopen if it is not the case for

[Bug 45162] Re: Wrong acx111 PCI default firmware for DWL-G520+

2006-07-19 Thread lcn
Hi,

My wi-fi connection works.
I use Ubuntu 6.06.
Linux 2.6.15-25-386.
Wi-fi PCI card D-Link DWL-G520+, H/W Ver. A3, F/W Ver. 1.0.11.

How to do.
The firmware tiacx111c16 in directories 1.2.0.30 and 1.2.1.34 work. But not
the one in 2.3.1.31.

cd /lib/firmware/2.6.15-23-386/acx/default
rm tiacx111c16

ln -s ../1.2.0.30/tiacx111c16 tiacx111c16
or
ln -s ../1.2.1.34/tiacx111c16 tiacx111c16

Nota : Seems working from channel 1 (2412 MHz) to channel 13 (2472 MHz).
Didn't test with channel 14 (2484 MHz).

I attached file from lspci -vv, lspci -vvn, lsusb.

When you have an update that is less than 10K there are no units on the

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start update manager.

No units are displayed after the size number.

Expected results:

In fact that looks like bug #36500 which is not a crasher and fixed now.
Basically nautilus closes the window of that directory since the
directory is removed. I'm marking it as duplicate, feel free to reopen

[Bug 53337] Re: gedit crashes X on large xml file

2006-07-19 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks for your bug. That's not gedit crashing so no need of a
backtrace. In fact having crash usually causes X to restart, sometimes
the machine hangs and a hard boot is required is not a gedit bug. It's
likely due to linux or xorg. An app should not be able to crash your
xorg or box, if it does that's linux or xorg to blame, not the
application. Do you have any mention of that incident to
/var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog?

Thanks for your report. This is also bug 47687, and occurs when you
select a Chinese language (either Simplified or Traditional) but then
 select a non-Chinese-speaking country on the timezone/country
selection page. At present, I'm afraid the workaround is to select a
 Chinese- speaking country.

MY_HOSTID=d69b97a6824e4728b163576ade8f111c

However, today I've received the following error e-mail:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]: host fiordland.ubuntu.com[82.211.81.145] said: 550
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual
alias table (in reply to RCPT TO command)

So, here I'm seeing two errors: first, the package still tries to send
the report using e-mail, although http method is selected. Second,
e-mail method doesn't work because of problems in ubuntu.com
mailservers.

Note that I've installed manually this package yesterday, that is, in
Dapper, it's not upgraded from previous releases.

[Bug 53425] No error msg when overwritting a vcard on a file with no write access

2006-07-19 Thread Mathieu ALORENT
Public bug reported:

Hi,

When saving/overwrite a vcard, Evolution doesn't tell that me that I
have no write access on the file and do as if it was OK...

Step to reproduce :

1. open evolution with address book mode
2. right clic on an card and choose save as
3. save it on the desktop for exemple
4. right clic - properties on this file on the desktop
5. remove my write access
6. in evolution try to save another card over the already saved file
7. It seem to be OK, but look inside the file, the content is the first saved
card...

Regards
Mathieu ALORENT

[Bug 53329] Re: moving several large pdfs, crash on browsing for destination

2006-07-19 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks for your bug. Without a way to reproduce the bug or a backtrace
we can't do a lot about it. You should install libgnomevfs2-0-dbg and
nautilus-dbg and if the crash happens again click on the send upstream
option of the crash dialog and get the backtrace of the crash from it,
copy it to a comment then. Marking it as Needs Info for now

[Bug 23224] Re: Monitor does not dim when switching to battery.

2006-07-19 Thread elias
Same for me. Vaio VGN-S560P.

Fn keys work now since Bug #39820 seems to be resolved after some
communication with the maintainer of smartdimmer (eventhough bug was not
marked as resolved).

But the display is neither dimmed by the gnome-power-manager nor by
kpowersave which I installed later.

As mentioned in Bug #29527 there is no indicator for brightness
keystrokes like for the volume keys. Hope that is resolved soon either.

[Bug 839] Re: unhandled exception with

2006-07-19 Thread Loïc Minier
I suppose this is by design, and this is covered in the FAQ:
http://alliance.seas.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/wiki/index.php?n=Main.UnisonFAQTroubleshooting

I tried raising my stack size limit and number of open file descriptor
limit to insane values, and unison didn't seem to work any longer.

Stracing the server part of the process shows:
(many read()s)
read(4, ix) with ESMTP id 93618C2E6;\r\n\tT..., 7700) = 7700
read(4, )\r\n\tby mx0.bpl-group.org (Postfi..., 7700) = 5049

write(2, Uncaught exception Out of memory..., 33) = 33
exit_group(1) = ?

It's absolutely not clear why it fails, even with ulimit -a:
-t: cpu time (seconds) unlimited
-f: file size (blocks) unlimited
-d: data seg size (kbytes) unlimited
-s: stack size (kbytes)262144
-c: core file size (blocks)0
-m: resident set size (kbytes) unlimited
-u: processes unlimited
-n: file descriptors 8192
-l: locked-in-memory size (kb) unlimited
-v: address space (kb) unlimited
-x: file locks unlimited

I'm trying a ltrace(), but it takes too long with ltracing to reach the
bug.

[Bug 53280] Re: gv fonts don't render properly in Dapper

2006-07-19 Thread Steve Doty
No configuration. It just worked out of the box in Breezy (and in
Hoary for that matter), but in Dapper it is now broken.

There is a posting in the forums at

 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=181385

which seems to be relevant, and confirms that this problem was noticed
by others besides me.

I attach two screenshots of the same file being rendered by gv on two
different platforms, one running Breezy and the other running Dapper.
