[Bug 58721] Re: Edgy upgrade breaks multiple Matrox cards
Cyber Rigger : Here is what i have done : Modify /etc/X11/xorg.conf to add Option UseFBDev true Modify /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer to comment (by adding a leading #) the line about matroxfb_base : #blacklist matroxfb_base This way, the matroxfb_base module will be loaded automatically at boot time. As it is stated in the header of this file, this can cause suspend failures, kernel panics and general mayhem. [Bug 80702] Keyboard indicator flags are missing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: human-icon-theme Hello, Gnome's keyboard-indicator applet, has a hidden feature, which allows countries' flags to be shown instead of simple text such as us. The option is availabe via gconf: /apps/gswitchit/Applet/showFlags This feature can enhance the usability for the gnome desktop alot in my opinion. It's quite difficult most of the time, to locate the applet with your eyes, so you need to search for it. Using a flag image helps finding it almost immedietly. [Bug 64905] Re: Mp3 metadata (ID3 tags) are corrupt
Are you asking for a sample mp3 Daniel? That would be a sizable attachment and might raise copyright concerns but I'm happy to if you really need one. I just did some testing using versions in Ubuntu Edgy Eft (SJ 2.16.1) and I can confirm that ID3 tags in mp3s no longer seem to be corrupt. Attached is a screenshot of a hex editor view of one of the files. I am using the following gstreamer pipeline. audio/x-raw-int,rate=44100,channels=2 ! lame name=enc vbr=4 vbr- quality=0 ! xingmux ! id3v2mux ID3 tags in the resulting mp3s are v2.4.0 and the only tag editor I've found that can read the tags is Ex Falso (uses its own engine called Mutagen). I guess at this point the issue falls on tag editors since the tags don't seem to be corrupt anymore. Is there perhaps an alternative pipeline that can specify v2.3 tags? ** Attachment added: binary view of ID3 tags created using id3v2mux http://librarian.launchpad.net/5804507/Screenshot.png -- Mp3 metadata (ID3 tags) are corrupt https://launchpad.net/bugs/64905 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 80683] Re: PC Ubuntu 6.10 installer from live cd crashed on ThinkpadR60
Hi, my guess now is that it is because i have a S-ATA hard drive. [Bug 80706] Re: Dapper doesnet run on new hardware
Hi Jörn, would be helpful if you could report the concret hardware which is causing you trouble. Eventough I think it is very unlikly there are going to be feature backports or even kernel upgrades for Dapper this policy (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SupportedHardware) tells to report not supported hw as a bug - so just do it (I'm very interested in the outcome of this ;). ** Changed in: Ubuntu Assignee: (unassigned) = a7p Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- Dapper doesnet run on new hardware https://launchpad.net/bugs/80706 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 80571] Re: a way to disable AAAA lookups in the resolver
Hi, First double check that you've really disabled IP6. IMO A system wide lookups doesn't make sense and there's already a way to disable them in lookup: hints.ai_flags = AI_ADDRCONFIG; getaddrinfo (... Too bad telnet and at least gaim don't use it, but most gnome applications and firefox do. on the other hand an easy way to disable IPV6 would be nice, sometimes it's a real problem and not only with broken router (slow or congested uplink). ** Changed in: glibc (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = didier Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- a way to disable lookups in the resolver https://launchpad.net/bugs/80571 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 77557] Re: knetworkmanager fails to find network devices
I am running Feisty development branch, updated with latest packages. I just changed the wireless interface configuration from knetworkconf and found that the line auto wifi0 was missing. Morever I found that on Feisty knetworkconf autodetects the system as Slackware 9.1 , and if I force version popup by altering knetworkconfrc as this: [General] askAgainPlatform=true detectedPlatform=Ubuntu_7.04 I can then select Feisty as platform, but then no network interfaces are found, so I think there should be some mess in knetworkconf which thinks that feisty is slackware 9.1 and does wrong configurations -- knetworkmanager fails to find network devices https://launchpad.net/bugs/77557 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
