Re: [Bug 81608] Re: Please use DejaVu Sans Condensed as the default font
Again, it seems to be the result of bad design. Try increasing the font size while looking at that footer. You'll find that it's set to a static height, and is unable to adapt to different font sizes. I think that the footBotDiv id is the culprit. http://youtube.com/ css/base_yts1175727411.css Michiel Sikma [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web designer and programmer On 10-apr-2007, at 17:18, jhasse wrote: I think you're right. [Bug 105216] 'man wall' contains reference to talk(1), but talk is absent in Ubuntu
Public bug reported: I've encountered the following documentation error: In 'man 1 wall', it says: SEE ALSO mesg(1), talk(1), write(1), shutdown(8) However, talk(1) does not exist on a default Ubuntu install: $ talk bash: talk: command not found $ which talk $ sudo find / -name talk Password: $ IMHO it might be useful to either include talk(1) in Ubuntu or change the manpage. [Bug 23267] Re: Default Hebrew fonts in Firefox are unreadable, ugly
Alexander Sack asked: So what font settings do you have to choose to make firefox detect it properly? I didn't have to make any changes at all to Firefox's default settings to have Hebrew text show up. If, by properly, you mean settings that would cause vowel-pointed text to show up properly, I still haven't seen this sort of text displayed properly in Firefox on an Ubuntu system -- though it shows up just fine in Firefox on a Windows system. Note that Hebrew text without vowel points looks fine in Firefox on Ubuntu. Most modern Hebrew text is written without those extra dots and lines (native speakers generally know which vowels are required in which words without needing visual cues). However, in those examples of Hebrew text that do include vowel points (such as sacred texts, or rare cases where vowels must be indicated in ordinary text as the only way to resolve an ambiguity), it is essential that they are positioned correctly, or else there is a bug that needs to be fixed. BTW, are you running hebrew ubuntu? [Bug 59549] Re: WEP is listed on WPA configure AP.
I am seeing similar behavior, which is particularly aggravating under poor signal conditions. Windows and Mac notebooks seem to not have a problem, and it's extremely frustrating having to manually enter the whole information over and over and over again. The problems are: 1) the UIowa WPA network uses dynamic WEP, and it is detected as static WEP. Somehow, this works for Windows and Mac, but not for N-M. 2) links seem to be randomly dropped. 3) N-M forgets about the network and I have to keep manually entering in the informaiton (very annoying after the 15th dissassociation)! Attached is a log of frustration (grep -i networkmanager /var/log/syslog). This is independent of networking device because it happens for both my ipw2100 as well as madwifi card. ** Attachment added: The Log of Pain http://librarian.launchpad.net/7242933/nm-log -- WEP is listed on WPA configure AP. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/59549 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 105221] Wishlist: Drivers for more webcams/hardware + auto-suggest driver for attached hardware
Public bug reported: Here's one for the wishlist: Feisty's driver manager for e.g. the NVidia drivers is really good stuff! Well done!Similarly great work on the auto-downloader of codecs for non-supported media (e.g. mp3 etc) How about extending this functionality to cover hardware people plug in: e.g. use case: User plugs in a webcam supported (or not!) by linux: Window should pop up, saying something like: 'You've plugged in a {brand} Webcam, we're searching for known linux drivers...' and offer a click and play driver install if the driver exists / is supported. If not, say - sorry but no known driver exists for this hardware on Linux. Currently, hardware support in Ubuntu is good, but especially for webcams it relies a lot on users downloading and compiling their own stuff from a host of sources: way outside of 'average users' skills(?) and certainly within the possibilities of Ubuntu to automate! [Bug 97587] Re: [apport] mysql-query-browser crashed with SIGSEGV in std::_List_node_base::hook()
I think this is the changeset of the fix by the MySQL developer: http://svn.mysql.com/fisheye/changelog/mysql-gui-common/?cs=1918 This is from a google cache because the site itself seems to be having problems at the moment. Also, Attaching a backtrace. FYI: This happens to me 5 to 10 times per day. Thanks for your report, This seems theme based, I suffer the same problem except with my theme the about icon is a star. I used WinUpdate-0-7-0.exe from Intersil and the latest firmware, 1.8.4 seems to work OK with Orinoco driver. Note that IBM/Lenovo does not appear to provide recent firmware from what I can see, so you have to find it elsewhere. Display comes up garbled/blank about every 5 sleeps and requiring reboot. Messed around with all reported fixes.. added the reported CPU speed fix, and a sleep in ACPI resume script, seems to make it sort of work, but it is a pain to reboot every 5 or 10 sleeps. Always happens just when I want to demonstrate how great Ubuntu is!
