[Bug 63090] Re: do not eject all USB/Firewire devices
Just for the record: among the three external hard drives I have access to, feisty can eject two Cypress CY7C68300C-56PVXC based external hard drives smoothly; it cannot eject the one based on Initio INIC-1530L. Perhaps it is a bug in the usb_storage driver? I hope the problem will be fixed soon. In the meanwhile, I'll just use the pumount command to unmount the INIC-1530L based external hard drive. -- do not eject all USB/Firewire devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/63090 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Looking at this more, I realise that scorched3d links against wxwidgets2.6, rather than wxwidgets2.8, so the previous patch didn't do anything useful for this. [Bug 110707] Lost the Desktop effects CUBE after install, desinstall and install again the NVIDIA driver (nvidia-glx)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel I have a laptop (NEC versa P8100) with NVIDIA GeForce GO 6200. With the nvidia-glx from the repository is working well (also the DESKTOP EFFECTS, including the cube), except the resolution can't be 1280x800, and only 1076x768 (and the screen is wideview, so the image is deformed). [Bug 83290] Re: kernel 2.6.20-6 problem on asus centrino with kubuntu feisty herd 3
It seems to be not only a ubuntu kernel bug it is a generally bug in the 2.6.20 kernel. I tried the 2.6.20 kernel on my old kubuntu 6.10 and it doesn't work too. Yesterday I build a new 2.6.21 kernel on my system and it works. So I guess the new 2.6.21 kernel will also work on ubuntu 7.04 and asus M2N notebooks. -- kernel 2.6.20-6 problem on asus centrino with kubuntu feisty herd 3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/83290 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 81816] Re: setting up raid partitions takes very long and installer shows no progress bar for it
Users have thought that it's doing nothing and hung... me! I spent several days time cursing at the machine because it couldn't get the RAID setup correctly when all that was wrong were three things: 1. I wasn't familiar with the installer. 2. The set of partitions I have just so happens to be such that the Guided Install and Help options stay unmoved when I add raid partitions. The Configure RAID option is just out of view. If people leave the partition screen before using that option, the next screen is not very helpful, warning you that you have no / mount point, etc. If it had mentioned the option that seemed invisible (and they don't mention that you have to scroll up anywhere) it would have saved me at least a day. The screen never jumped, and I never thought to scroll UP. 3. If you get a RAID half-installed, you have to (at least I did) use the live CD, apt-get mdadm, and then umount, stop the raid, and zero the superblocks to get rid of it. I think the installer disk automounts the raid (my guess) because it won't let you delete a RAID successfully once you've rebooted once. It only works while you're setting the RAID up on that boot cycle. -- setting up raid partitions takes very long and installer shows no progress bar for it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/81816 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 110722] bad mimetype detection through ssh if file extensions are not present
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I have a simple UTF8 encoded file and a configure script. I would like to edit the UTF8 encoded text file via ssh in Nautilus. But the file types seems to be detected as binary (application/octet-stream). [Bug 108991] Re: [FEISTY][EXAILE]Exaile cant read any cd
The above test was performed on a dvd burner which is installed as slave in my computer. I also installed a dvd burner which is installed as master on the smae bus (I dont know if thes informations are usefull in my case ) . In the last one ( the burner ) exaile can read the cdrom - I dont upload the log because they are the same as above. Maybe this bug should be to python-cddb Regards, Alexandre -- [FEISTY][EXAILE]Exaile cant read any cd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108991 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
