[Bug 124530] Disk Mounter applet becomes shy for all desktop sessions except the first after boot
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets I have replicated this on 3 machines with different fstab and disk configurations, all running Ubuntu Edgy 7.04. The disk mounter applet shows my partitions as expected when I first log in. If I log out, then log back in, as any user, a 1-pixel-wide area on the panel shows up where I expect to see the disk mount applet, and no drives (not even those which are dynamically mounted and properly show up on the desktop or in the computer window in Nautilus) show up there. /usr/lib/gnome-applets/drivemount_applet2 is running as expected. [Bug 119295] Re: OpenSSH should support VIA PadLock
The original implementation of --with-ssl-engine doesn't seem to me to do anything at all, because it relies on an ugly re'#define which is not included anywhere it's needed. Even with that included in the appropriate spots, the padlock engine is still not being used. I've attached a works for me kind of patch. It adds the necessary includes so that --with-ssl-engine actually does something, and it also explicitly sets the padlock engine as the preferred cipher provider. [Bug 124535] dolphin package and data is misnamed d3lphin
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dolphin Running kubuntu gutsy tribe 2 Problem: When 'dolphin' is run from terminal or kmenu it does not start and is reportedly not found on local system. I have found that entering 'd3lphin' via the terminal starts dolphin successfully - have for now, altered kmenu command to 'd3lphin'. Once dolphin is running toolbars cannot be customised. Temporary solution pending fix is to copy/rename existing 'dolphin' data folder in ~/.kde/share/apps/ to 'd3lphin' - also need to copy/rename 'dolphinrc' in ~/.kde/share/config/ to 'd3lphin' ~ once this is done 'dolphin' runs perfectly. [Bug 124480] Re: forbidden characters is filenames are allowed
From ntfs-3g upstream: this bug report is invalid. NTFS has several file namespaces: DOS, WIN32, POSIX. Linux, as a POSIX OS, always creates files in the POSIX namespace. Characters in the file name can be anything except '/' and '\0'. These files are accessible via the WIN API on Windows only if they don't have forbidden characters. To handle these files on Windows, the same way as on Linux, one needs to install the Windows Services for Unix (SFU) freely available Microsoft package. In sort, everything behaves as it was designed. No problem on Linux and all the files are accessible if SFU is installed on Windows. If a non-posix file namespace handling is desirable on Linux then I suggest exporting the NTFS volume via Samba which should have support for restricting the file namespace to the WIN32 or DOS one. Thank you for the report, the question will be added to the ntfs-3g support page. -- forbidden characters is filenames are allowed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124480 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I remember Ubuntu used to freeze when i swapped from LCD to CRT ( i couldnt find a prper answer for this bug, but I fear that this process has affected my hardware, more precisely an over-charge on my chipset.)
