[Bug 128242] minorest revision number change breaks network protocol
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rdiff-backup Ubuntu does not seem to provide the current stable version of rdiff- backup, and the gutsy version of rdiff-backup (1.1.12) is incompatible with the version in all currently supported releases of Ubuntu (1.1.5). This means that when any machine upgrades to gutsy, it is impossible to rdiff-backup to a system that has not gone to gutsy. This is especially important when backing up (say) gutsy desktops to Dapper LTS servers. Either rdiff-backup should not break compatibility with subrevisions, or Ubuntu should provide a version of rdiff-backup that will communicate with all other currently-supported releases of Ubuntu. ** Affects: rdiff-backup (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- minorest revision number change breaks network protocol https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128242 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 128222] Re: gutsy/amd64: ftbfs / autopkgtest failure
Ming Hua writes ([Bug 128222] Re: gutsy/amd64: ftbfs / autopkgtest failure): This FTBFS is due to autopkgtest running debian/rules build without running debian/rules clean first. I see. Well, running rules clean first is not required. The clean target removes config.{guess, sub} file, then in conig.status target the ln command assumes these files are not there. This can be easily fixed by using -f option for ln, but since all buildd runs debian/rules clean before building, and policy explicitly says build target may need clean target to be run first, shouldn't autopkgtest be less restrictive on this? No, policy says The build target may need to run the clean target first - see below. that is, if build doesn't work without clean being run first, then build must depend on clean so that it is run first automatically. [Bug 128244] rdiff-backup --list-increments does not distinguish between error conditions
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rdiff-backup When one runs rdiff-backup --list-increments /path/to/backup/archive, it will often fail to run in situations where rdiff-backup --list- increment-sizes will succeed. An interrupted backup, currently-running backup, or other recoverable situation will cause -l to throw an exception and exit with a return code of 1 -- indistinguishable from an unrecoverable error. In order to work around this and usefully get a value for the date of the most recent useful backup for an archive (the current moment if a backup is currently still running, and the most recent incremental if the previous backup was interrupted), I had to write a python program that re-implemented Main.checkdest_need_check() and regress.check_pids() with versions that merely returned status codes rather than abort completely. This sort of behavior needs to be part of rdiff-backup from the start, as busy backup locations often appear to be unworkably broken to the command-line tools even when everything is perfectly fine. ** Affects: rdiff-backup (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- rdiff-backup --list-increments does not distinguish between error conditions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128244 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 128246] xend 3.0.4 has log rotation parameters hard-coded
Public bug reported: On a busy Xen host with a lot of setup/teardown activity, the xend.log fills up very quickly. A few comments for you Version 0.4-3ubuntu0.1 for version (it's not a rebuild and the 0 to keep it below the Gutsy version number) would be better (not an essential change, but since you're going to be updating it anyway). [Bug 128256] Weird behavior of gtk controls
Public bug reported: Sometimes gtk apps start to behave quite strange. Most menus doesn't popup (both main window menus and popups), that seem to happen with all gtk programs I use: gajim, evolution, freeciv, gimp... Firefox is an exception, the menus work correctly, but program ignores all key presses (I think that's because firefox reimplements his toolkit and uses gtk in a different way than other apps). It all happens simultaneously. Just after logging in, everything works well. Sometimes after few minutes/hours whole environment starts to have such misbehaviors. It never affected single app; when I saw that one app is misbehaving, all apps started to do so. Everything returns to normal when I close all gtk apps I have. Closing f.e. only firefox windows doesn't help. I work under fvwm-crystal (a set of configuration files for fvwm). All this never happened to other users of this computer, all of them use standard gnome. That's all pretty weird and difficult to describe, I cannot find any cause or even any way to reproduce; I am filling this report in hope that someone will help me debug that or at least someone will verify this. [Bug 87462] Re: MASTER [apport] amarokcollectionscanner crashed with SIGSEGV in QPixmap::convertFromImage()
For people using SMB, have a read of this: http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Samba Secondly, it'd be much more useful if some of you could compile Amarok and TagLib from source, with debug=full. It's really hard to have an idea of what's going from a crash otherwise, and in the past few months no one has shown a way to consistently reproduce this (or even at all). Yes, TagLib too...I don't know what patches are in Ubuntu taglib package but there are many many many patches in SVN since 1.4. If it happens on specific files we can find a way for you to get some to me so I can check them out (posting on here probably is not a good idea unless they're totally unencumbered). -- MASTER [apport] amarokcollectionscanner crashed with SIGSEGV in QPixmap::convertFromImage() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/87462 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
