[Bug 215686] [NEW] Installation hang on dl360G4p and borked text on other consoles
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: base-installer When I did an install on a HP dl360G4p it stopped two times on restarting now (the last thing before restarting into ubuntu). And when I tried to look on another console it showed only borked text. So I could not see where it stopped. But when I restarted the server with a cold reboot it worked like it should. [Bug 214714] Same problem with updated-from-beta install
I see the same message 'net usershare' returned error 255 on a from- scratch beta-cd installation that has been updated to current as of this writing (Sa 12. Apr 0:00 CEST). No special changes have been made to the stock system in the context of file sharing, the only thing attempted was to enable public sharing of a folder from Nautilus. Nautilus asked to install the services, and did so. Then upon trying to activate the share, the error showed. I added the usershare owner only = False line and issued /etc/init.d/samba restart. With the bzip errors, try running sudo apt-get update and then sudo apt- get upgrade. Hopefully it will go away. Re: [Bug 195390] Re: gtk icons not showing right in taskbar/system tray
Well, as for Firefox 3.0, I don't really know as Firefox 3.0 in ubuntu seams to have stopped working. (More info on this later, and in another bug report). For Firefox 2 it seams to no longer be an issue. Possibly because it is no longer allowed to change the task-bar icon by KDE(?). How-ever, when it comes to the try-icons, there seams to still be an issue. At least Pidgin still has the same problem (as in previous screenshot) with the system-tray. 2008/4/10, Harald Sitter [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Is this still happening? ** Changed in: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- gtk icons not showing right in taskbar/system tray https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195390 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- gtk icons not showing right in taskbar/system tray https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195390 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 215455] [NEW] Double-click on mount icon should open mounted directory under KDE
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When a usb drive is connected, Kubuntu detects it and offers an option of opening in a new Konqueror Window. This opens the location media:/sdb1 or something of the sort, which is not in sync with the tree on the left panel (i.e., the folder opened on the right is not shown on the tree in the left panel). If the default behaviour was to open /media/usbdrive or whatever is the folder where the device was mounted, this folder would automatically be revealed in the tree on the left panel, facilitating the navigation. The same thing happens if I open the device by double-clicking its icon on the Desktop. It's not really a bug, it's a suggestion of improvement. I hope this is the right place for this also. [Bug 197130] Re: [hardy] Black X screen and system halt after installing linux-rt
Well, I think I've fairly comprehensively proved that it's an actual bug, given that the symptoms seem reproducible on several systems. It's also been present (for me) in every revision of the -rt kernel from -12. I have tried the EnvyNG installer (with the -12 and -14 revisions) which also produced the same error, but EnvyNG is unsupported, as I understand it... Is this the upstream installer you mean, Timo? I'm not at my laptop right now, so I can't test your suggestion yet, anyway. Will do as soon as I can though. Given that the error is consistent across several kernels, but appears only in the -rt flavour, it's pretty odd.
