[Bug 238111] [NEW] after install, can't make it work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ocsinventory-server I'm trying to install OCSInventory-server 1.01-3 (and report) by packages in multiverse. I can't find how to make it works (or if it works, how to use it). My version is 8.04, upgraded since 7.04 (and 7.10). Package is installed, but logs are empty. Is there a process we must launch ? Is it an apache site to intall ? If yes, where can we find doc to intall it ? README (as README.Debian and TODO.Debian) didn't show the way. They say to launch a non-existing file (sh setup.sh). The other file in doc, /etc/ocsinventory/dbconfig.inc.php is a link toward a non existing file in /var/lib/ocsinventory-server/config/. ** Affects: ocsinventory-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- after install, can't make it work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238111 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 74394] Re: power.sh should allow laptop_mode to do it's thing
ok Tormod, thank you for patching my linux knowledge !! Your solution is simpler than mine : I have an additionnal logical condition evaluation to distinguish between the laptop-mode script and the laptop_mode_enable function if [ x$ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE = xtrue ]; then (sleep 5 /usr/sbin/laptop_mode auto) else (sleep 5 laptop_mode_enable) fi But , with your patch, the hdparm settings are applied two times : - first, the default setting : $HDPARM -S $SPINDOWN_TIME /dev/$drive 2/dev/null $HDPARM -B 1 /dev/$drive 2/dev/null - and then, with the the call to $LAPTOP_MODE start, which use the laptop-mode.conf parameters -- power.sh should allow laptop_mode to do it's thing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/74394 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 238110] [NEW] USB mouse freezes and becomes 'jittery'
Public bug reported: I am pretty much a linux newbee.. firstly thanks to anyone who reads and offers help for me to find a fix, but please also try to fully explain what you need me to post and how, as many of the reports I've read in an effort to find a fix myself, have simply been 'too technical' and I've found it hard to take some practical advice from them that I feel safe to apply to my own PC.. but thanks mainly! This is my first even linux install, and I have made many small alterations to get it working in a way that I was enjoying, however over the last few days the mouse has started to fail - to the point that it now occasionally shuffles around when I push it.. but it is just an annoyance, luckily I have the touchpad, which works fine at all times. I thought this might be a problem after suspending the computer, and often a reboot helped, but now after a fresh boot the Mouse freezes, might come back for a few minutes and then just does nothing - but remains lit, so has power. I have made some changes to my USB settings to make my huawei E200 work to provide internet without needing to connect each time - I also played around with other things, too many to list or remember, and many via the terminal, where I am not at all proficient - I really hope someone can point me to where to start fixing things.. the mouse is branded Manhattan 173773 - it's a generic mouse with a scroll, which I bought in Spain connected via USB with a cable. anyhow.. to the bug.. I've read endless reports and forums, and tried a few of the suggestions, none have done it yet.. I would feel very uncomfortable to do the manipulation (compilations) on a running system. All trials I have done so far ended in error messages. I have a big lack in knowledge (e. g. I do not know basics like were to put the decompressed files - to the desktop, my home or root directory). Therefore I feel better to wait until the updates were available by synaptic. [Bug 238125] [NEW] Ubuntu/HardyHeron/8.04 - partitioning message on not enough diskspace is confusing

[Bug 125970] Re: slow scroll with image as background-repeat
I am actually seeing the same behavior on Windows XP, Firefox 3.0 RC2. So this is not a problem isolated to Linux. The best example I have seen of the problem is on this site: http://www.timothysykes.com/ It's slower than normal on most of the page, but if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, when the page footer starts becoming visible the framerates drop drastically. Hi Thomas, after reading your last comment I tried the workaround (amd74xx and via82cxxx modules) a second time. That works now. At my first try it didn't, probably because I used the wrong module-version - sorry for that. I can also confirm that the 40-wire-cable is the reason in my case.
