[Bug 423562] [NEW] Windows client strange behavour on password protected shares
Public bug reported: Good day to you all! I have found a strange Windows behavour when I try to access password protected Samba shares. Not sure who's guilty, but I fill the bug anyway. On Windows client, if I: 1. Login, open shares list on Server, click on a password protected share, get a login/password prompt. Enter it and I'm in. 2. Login, open shares list on Server, enter a public share, open (create, delete, etc.) a file there, return to shares list, click on a password protected share, get a login/password prompt. [Bug 423570] [NEW] tcpdump takes an unusually long time to display packets (Jaunty)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tcpdump tcpdump takes an unusually long time to display packets in Ubuntu Jaunty (3.9.8-4ubuntu2), whereas it works find under my Ubuntu Intrepid (3.9.8-4) setup; packets are shown instantly. Wireshark displays packets instantly in both cases. This is true of all and -i any interfaces I test. The packet times are correct, but it can take between 5 and 10 seconds for packets to be shown, regardless of packet type, source, destination or interface. CPU utilisation does not increase during this time. The following is a short excerpt running on the any interface with the filter ip proto \\icmp. I have used pings for simplicity here. Filtering the packets does not speed up the display. The network nor the computer are busy while testing. PING 192.168.0.3 (192.168.0.3) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 192.168.0.3: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=10.4 ms 08:38:40.450249 IP 192.168.0.12 192.168.0.3: ICMP echo request, id 62810, seq 1, length 64 08:38:40.450273 IP 192.168.0.12 192.168.0.3: ICMP echo request, id 62810, seq 1, length 64 08:38:40.452587 IP 192.168.0.3 192.168.0.12: ICMP echo reply, id 62810, seq 1, length 64 As you can see, the ICMP_ECHO_REQUEST is sent twice for each ping. I'm not sure if this is normal, or even related. Pinging 127.0.0.1 only sends the request once before receiving the reply, but tcpdump still takes its time to show the captured packets. [Bug 330272] Re: mythbackend silently fails with QSqlQuery::exec: empty query
@alistair I think it depends on whether myth protocol has changed or not. I have a minimyth frontend which ignores a change in myth protocol and attempts to connect anyway. Other implementations will vary and will likely not enable you to connect if there is a mismatch in the protocol. @all I have now been running for over a week with --nohousekeeper switch added to mythbackend. I have not had one instance of it crashing in this manner (kiss of death!!!) Bryce. I have installed the newer Kubuntu and the ati driver is working with it. However the display is 2/3's of an inch left and a 1/3 of an inch down. version number is 1.6.29.99+git20090825.fc74e119-0 I'm assuming therefore that this might be due to a usplash/xsplash/metacity... all fighting for the same display, of course I could be horrifically wrong. -- Ati driver issues when logging into desktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/423415 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 423412] [NEW] karmic alpha: grub2 core.img with mdraid lvm too big to embed
Am Mittwoch, den 02.09.2009, 20:53 + schrieb Roland Dreier: Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub2 I tried to install a system with today's Karmic amd64 alternate CD, and with / on LVM on RAID. This setup used to work with older Karmic alphas (and presumably older grub2), but with the latest grub2, the core.img ends up being 33000 bytes, which is just a bit more than the 31744 (= 62*512) bytes of space available for embedding. So grub-install fails and the system is unbootable. The core.img that is built seems pretty minimal -- the raid, mdraid and lvm added in, which are all necessary AFAIK. Not sure what the right way to handle this is -- LVM on RAID seems pretty mainstream, and the code just needs to be shrunk %10 for core.img to fit, so fixing this would be great if possible. On the other hand, being so close to the limit seems pretty fragile Which RAID? RAID 5 or RAID 6? And wich filesystem? Reiser3 is the biggest filesystem in GRUB 2. Tadas 2009/9/3 kernel-janitor le...@canonical.com Hi Tadas, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 296980 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. [Bug 403549] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV immediately after start up
I was experiencing this bug on every login. It seems I got rid of it by manually cleaning up my gconf database. Unfortunately I did loads of changes at once, so I can't say which one was the champion. What I did was removing old keys that were not assosiated with a schema anymore, including (but not limited to) /apps/nautilus/. I also reset several entries to their default values.
