[Bug 34590] Re: [mach64] DRI not Automatically Enabled for ATI Rage Mobility P/M
No, it is not fixed. The upstream task is marked as fixed because it was pointing to a security issue blocking the inclusion of mach64 into the main drm repository. However the inclusion did not happen anyway. Meanwhile, the drm code moved to the kernel, and still has no mach64. The Ubuntu task was closed because of missing feedback from the reporter. If anyone would like to hack on this, the most recent patches I have seen are from Mandriva, see http://forums.opensuse.org/get-help- here/hardware/435228-ati-mach64-2.html -- [mach64] DRI not Automatically Enabled for ATI Rage Mobility P/M https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34590 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 568946] [NEW] clamav-base.postinst doesn't check user of clamd when it sets LocalSocketGroup
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: clamav-base I've upgraded ClamAV running on Ubuntu Jaunty from version 0.95.3+dfsg-1ubuntu0.09.04.1 to version 0.96+dfsg-1ubuntu2 which I backported using source package for coming Ubuntu Lucid. Unfortunately ClamAV failed during restart as you can see below: * Stopping ClamAV daemon clamd [ OK ] [...] * Starting ClamAV daemon clamd \ ERROR: Failed to change socket ownership to group clamav Closing the main socket.[fail] Please note that my ClamAV daemon runs with privileges of amavis user, not default clamav user, so its socket has the following owner and group: # ls -l /var/run/clamav/ total 0 s- 1 amavis amavis 0 2010-04-22 16:30 clamd.ctl # ls -ld /var/run/clamav/ drwxr-xr-x 2 amavis root 60 2010-04-22 16:30 /var/run/clamav/ The reason of the socket problem is that clamav-base.postinst script doesn't check user of clamd process and set automatically new option SocketLocalGroup clamav in /etc/clamav/clamd.conf file. My ClamAV ran successfully again when I set SocketLocalGroup amavis there and restarted it. I think that post install script of clamav-base package should be more smart and check User option in the config file of clamd. ** Affects: clamav (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- clamav-base.postinst doesn't check user of clamd when it sets LocalSocketGroup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568946 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 566520] Re: MIR for gnugo
Yes I would like gnugo in main. It needs no notable dependencies, has had no security issues and includes a large regression testsuite. The testsuite is not part of the package build process currently but could be easily added. I don't want to drop gnugo from a recommends to a suggests, running the programme just gives a message to install gnugo. We could drop kigo from the kdegames meta-package which would stop it needing to be in main. On the other hand i will be quite glad to settle people down on 10.04LTS and let them rest there for a few years. I stuck with 9.04 for about a year. There's still 9months support for it so even now i don't HAVE to upgrade. To upgrade i test a LiveCd of it https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD try it on a small partition away from my main stable install https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot and than decide whether to commit to it or use a separate /home Oh, dang it, more choices!! [Bug 568879] Re: systemsettings needs a menu item to close it
I do not agree with that. systemsettings leaves the normal behavior of programs. Every program in my graphical menu (kmenu) that I can think of has an integrated menu item to be able to be closed through the menu. Except systemsettings. But systemsettings is one of the most basic programs that need to be handled by any user and also by beginners. I will have to look why I do not have the button on the top right corner that you can see, Thomas. Thanks for your eyes. [Bug 496093] Re: [lucid] rt2860 frequently fails to connect to mixed mode WPA/WPA2 secured wireless networks
I haven't followed too closely about what is being dropped from the CD for lack of space, but I understand that The Gimp is one of them. At the risk of dumping yet another important package from the CD, why not just 'bite the bullet' and do so [remove another (other) packag(s) from the CD]? [Bug 474986] Re: [HP-Pavilion FJ470AA-ABA m9357c] suspend/resume failure [non-free: nvidia]
I have conducted two tests. The suspend / resume failed both times. I am running the latest 10.4 release. After waiting a while for the computer to power off, I did the usual attempt to wake up the computer with no response. When I rebooted, the network was marked as disabled. I enabled the network and the system seems to be working ok. I will conduct detailed testing this weekend. [Bug 566520] Re: MIR for gnugo
There was no Debian upload in 1.5 years, but there are no Debian/Ubuntu bugs. It has ancient packaging, though (not even using debhelper), but since it has no i18n/gettext and is just by and large an engine, we do not need to worry about translation stripping anyway. So it's a bit rusty, but as a game it's harmless enough that I could live with it being in main. -- MIR for gnugo https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/566520 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 496093] Re: [lucid] rt2860 frequently fails to connect to mixed mode WPA/WPA2 secured wireless networks
I agree, this is of huge importance. How many Eee PC users are we willing to exclude? My WPA/2 is what I use at home and what they use on campus, and has become *the* encryption standard for wireless since WEP is so easy to pwn in secconds. If the package maintainers fail to update this, we as a community should create a ppa with a dkms kernel module for this driver. I know its not a perfect solution but its better than nothing and people can either a) use hard line connection or b) download it before installing and store it on a usb drive. -- [lucid] rt2860 frequently fails to connect to mixed mode WPA/WPA2 secured wireless networks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/496093 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 411542] Re: [upstream] OpenOffice.org 3.1 Impress Very Slow due to AA
When I experienced this behaviour some weeks ago in OOo 3.2.0 (in Fedora 12), I got rid of the slow responses by renaming the /user folder in ~/.openoffice.org/3/ (e.g. to user.old).
