Indeed, vmbuilder under Lucid keeps the temporary name. Because of this, automated scripts that look for disk0.qcow2 or so, fail. Of course, we can work around it, but I'd like to see clear names again. Hello Ian! The revealing message here is hostname: Name or service not known which means there is a DNS issue on your system. hostname -i and hostname -d should get you going on debugging this. Also take a look at /etc/nsswitch.conf. Of course the package installation shouldn't have barfed that badly, but you'll be running into trouble all the time if your mail server has DNS issues. [Bug 611330] [NEW] ssh hangs after login when using broadcom wifi
Public bug reported: The terminal hangs after I type my password in ssh. Strangely, I can browse the files through nautilus/ssh and create tunnels with GSTM. My machine is a Macbook 4.1 and ssh works fine on MacOSX. After searching through web I found that maybe this bug has something to do with the wifi driver: Broadcom module wl. It works fine through ethernet. I certainly used ssh succesfully before, but maybe this is the first time I have to use it through terminal in Lucid. I found some old forum emails about this bug in Hardy using Dell Mini. This bug resurrected in Lucid. Maybe someone forgot to apply a patch in this kernel. Just to chime in, this is affecting my 10.04 LTS nodes talking to my recently upgraded 10.04 LTS puppet master. Puppet sits behind Apache with mod_proxy_balancer and mod_ssl. I made the mistake of assuming that my issue couldn't have been apparmor related because I had executed '/etc/init.d/apparmor stop' to unload profiles to ensure it wasn't an apparmor problem. I agree with Fjodor, the importance should be heightened. Without serial port
virtualization a lot of functionalities could be lost. For example i need the
serial port for the installation of a fax server (hylafax) that is using a
modem connected to the host's physical serial port (/dev/ttyS0).

I just updated the BIOS on my AOD150 to 1.13 (the latest available for the AOD150) and it solves the problem halfway - it now correctly does not do the lid-close action when you plug in etc, but it does not suspend properly when the lid is closed. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Had just upgraded from 10.04 UNR to the Alpha of 10.10 My user, after the restart, would (and still) just keep spawning File Manager Starting... windows. Also of note, the interface is the standard desktop one, not Unity or the old UNR style. A simple killall nautilus stops this from happening, until the next login with the same user. Creating a new user and logging in as that one, everything is as expected with the Unity interface.
