[Bug 872207] Re: When Firefox is running in Unity, drop-down menus sometime close when opened

2011-11-29 Thread Thane
I've been dealing with this one on not only my ubuntu 10.10 machine, but
my parent's 10.04 machine in another house for months now. So I'm
positive, this is not just personal settings on my machine, which are at
fault. I have noticed the behaviour occasionally in Firefox. But its
mainly a Thunderbird issue for me, when I try to delete junk/spam mail
by right clicking on the Junk to access the drop down menu. The drop
down menu then disappears, when I try to empty the junk. I'm presently
now running the latest lubuntu and linux mint 12 releases in vbox and so
far I've not noticed the erratic behaviour in their Thunderbirds
(although that may just be temporary good fortune.) At first I thought
the cause was related to the ubuntu Updates informing me, that updates
were available for download, as that was when the problem occured. But
thats not always the case now.

[Bug 897678] [NEW] onBoard shifts after changing Language Layout

2011-11-29 Thread katearcher89
Public bug reported:

If language layout is changed with hidden onBoard after onBoard is
called back it's position is shifted to the right about 100 or more
pixels so in some cases it is impossible to change onBoard's position
back to where it was before( because position button is hided outside
the screen). This bug occurs only when onBoard is resized(more
particularly stretched) and after completely turning onBoard off and on
again its position is restored, but all of the resize information is
lost too, reverting to default dimensions.

On the other hand when you are changing language layout with onBoard
floating everything work just as it expected and no shifting occurs at
all.

2011-11-29 Thread Safronov Sergey
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 874755 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874755

Hi! I met similar problem...

When I installed ubuntu 11.10 it has system encoding UTF-8 (I get it
after executing 'locale' command). After setting up clock to show a
weekday and day of month everything worked fine (my system language is
Russian so I saw translated into Russian name of weekday and month in
cyrillic characters).

Then I deside to change system encoding to CP1251 (I need it for work). I
executed 2 commands:
locale-gen ru_RU.CP1251
update-locale LANG=ru_RU.CP1251 LC_ALL=ru_RU.CP1251

After that my clock with week day and name of month become a string
[Invalid Utf-8] and I can't find way to fix it. Simpe clock without any
letters (just 13:33) shown normally

I locally patched ubiquity to capture the file it's crashing on. In this

Doing another run to see whether it's random or always the same file.

Guys on tilt-tracking we have a patch from Dave Long

teams/working/ti/kernel.git;a=patch;h=32a92107a7137ea32a2209f83dd4bae42ad4ec7c

that re-enables these interrupts for 4430 Panda. We don't get any boot
crashes so far.

It doesn't hurt 4460 Panda, but it doesn't succeed get any results on
that yet.

[Bug 897686] [NEW] update-manager fails to upgrade with socks proxy

2011-11-29 Thread Ancho
Public bug reported:

I'm trying to upgrade from natty to oneiric using do-release-upgrade. The
problem is that I have internet only through socks using a local shh tunnel
connection created by using: ssh -g -D user@ip. The tunnel works great
with firefox and using tsocks or proxychains with other applications, also
works with do-release-upgrade at first stage, but after the downloading
upgrade tool it clears the screen and seems like a call to apt-get or synaptic
(or is it aptitude?) and all the connections tries keeps failing.
I've tried replacing apt-get in /usr/bin with a script that invokes first
proxychains with parameters apt-get and $@, but that doesn't work either.

[Bug 897689] [NEW] Window control buttons disappear when a half-screen window is maximized

2011-11-29 Thread Jonathan Allard
Public bug reported:

The window doesn't maximize (take the full screen) and window controls
disappear when maximizing a window that has been set to half the screen.
Tested applications include firefox, evince and lyx.

Steps:
1. Open application
2. Drag the title bar to a side of the screen. The window will take half the
screen
3. Click on the maximize button
= Window does not maximize
= Title bar disappears
= Window minus title bar takes up the whole vertical space
= Menu bar at the top is not affected, controls do not appear

Temporary fix:
Position the cursor in a top corner of the window as to resize it and to bring
back the title bar and controls.

[Bug 891830] Re: System freeze

2011-11-29 Thread Michael Terry
I don't recall it happening on previous versions.

BTW, I've been running mainline 3.2-rc2 kernel for a while and haven't
hit this bug. I'll switch to latest Ubuntu kernel again and see if it's
been fixed.

looked at

[Bug 889120] Re: Compiz chewing CPU/spinning when vertical scroll exists

2011-11-29 Thread iMac
I just fixed all my delay by stopping autofs. It seems that a few of my

intermittently when not at that location.

stopping the autofs service instantly fixes my problem.

[Bug 893842] Re: Move admin group to sudo

2011-11-29 Thread Erick Brunzell
@ Jean-Baptiste Lallement,

I'm curious what problems to look for and just how to reproduce the
problem.

Does this also effect the creation of a new user account?

Sorry if I'm just being stupid, but I'm just a simple minded end user
:^)

As always, thanks for all you do.

[Bug 897700] [NEW] SVG thumbnails still broken in oneiric

2011-11-29 Thread Romano Giannetti
Public bug reported:

Although I have no more the crashes reported in bug#305546, the SVG
thumbnailer is still working suboptimally. Sometime it stops a long time
(you have to stop the nautilus window and the reload with F5), and then
the previewed image is not correct. See for example the SVG file from
Inkscape and the exported PDF preview.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 897699] [NEW] fprobe can't bind to address

It seems another user also hit the same problem and did ask in the
ubuntu forum but no further answer -

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1871541

** Affects: fprobe (Ubuntu)

[Bug 897702] [NEW] Address bar looses focus after hint pop-up disappearing when globalmenu is activated

2011-11-29 Thread Загорія Сергій
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install firefox-globalmenu
