[Bug 983835] Re: jackdbus sigsegv handling itself crashes
Heya, first off, thanks for this contribution to the LTS, it's much appreciated! As it happens, Ubuntu Precise has now progressed into Final Freeze. Right now changes to the distro are limited to just ultra-critical release bugs that the release team has flagged as priorities. Most other bugs, including this one, need to now be handled as Stable Release Updates (SRUs) or left until the next release (Q-series) opens for development. For reference, here is the SRU Policy Doc: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates I've looked at your patch and think it may qualify as an SRU, but there's a bit extra paperwork, which helps establish the justification for the change and makes the change easier for reviewers. Would you mind helping by filling in some blanks? I've pasted in the standard SRU template into the bug description. Click the yellow pencil icon to the right of 'Bug Description', and fill in the empty sections. Also, while the patch itself looks ok, there are a few changes necessary to target it as an SRU: 1. In the changelog entry, target the upload to 'precise-proposed' rather than just 'precise'. 2. The version number should increment by a point rather than a full number. Examples: Currently in precise Proposed for precise-proposed foobar-1.2-1 ---> foobar-1.2-1ubuntu0.1 foobar-1.2-1ubuntu2 ---> foobar-1.2-1ubuntu2.1 foobar-1.2~dfsg.1-1 ---> foobar-1.2~dfsg.1-1ubuntu0.1 foobar-1.2-1ubuntu1.5 ---> foobar-1.2-1ubuntu1.6 3. Make certain the correct bug # is listed in the changelog entry description, in this format: (LP: #123456) 4. Doublecheck the maintainer is set to Ubuntu. Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.4kernel[1] (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag(Only that one tag, please leave the other tags). This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". [Bug 985899] [NEW] Item stops showing up on taskbar after being trashed and restored
Public bug reported: 1) Create a desktop shortcut 2) Launch it - this should create a specific entry on the left taskbar. 3) Lock the task to the taskbar. 4) Close it. 5) Move the desktop shortcut to the trash. (This should also get rid of the locked item in the taskbar, and does.) 6) Move the trashed shortcut back to the desktop. 7) Launch the process. Note that the application--which is now running--should show up in the launcher, but it doesn't. This does not *always* happen, but it almost always does; repeat the steps and it happens 3 out of 4 times. Step 1) is being done in the following way: 1) Launch Chrome. 2) Navigate somewhere. 3) Find the File menu; not in Chrome, but in the top bar, mac-style. 4) Create an Application shortcut on the desktop (NOT the launch bar). If this doesn't show up (and it comes and goes), try switching application focus. If it's grayed out, navigate to a different site. 5) Right-click on the new application shortcut and select Properties. 6) Change the icon to one of the ones under /opt/google/chrome/google-chrome. 7) Rename the shortcut 8) Delete the portion of the command that navigates to the site you don't care about 9) Set the command as desired (eg, --user-data-dir=something) 10) Close ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/985899 Title: Item stops showing up on taskbar after being trashed and restored To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/985899/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 608870] Re: certain PDFs open but don't save
I have been having the same issue for some time now. I'm running Linux Mint 11/64 bit with PDF Shuffler 0.5 (default for this release). I am attaching two files (Lynx-Equipment-2012.pdf and Card.pdf) which were created with Simple Scan 2.32.0.1 (again, default for Linux Mint 11). In association with Marcel's last comment, I tried to open both files using Evince from a command line - there are no errors reported in the terminal for either of them. However, PDF Shuffler will not Export a PDF created by importing the two of them into one file. I get the same behaviour as the original bug report here (albeit with the clicked-on buttons being dark grey vs. orange, due to the default LM 11 "Mint-X Metal" theme). ** Attachment added: "First of two PDF files used to trigger/reproduce the issue." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pdfshuffler/+bug/608870/+attachment/3094605/+files/Lynx-Equipment-2012.pdf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/608870 Title: certain PDFs open but don't save To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pdfshuffler/+bug/608870/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 947278] Re: unity-2d-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in ref()
Hi I reported the duplicate of this bug (#982990). Unity 2d crashed on me again, but I must have messed up something with apport -> couldn't get the stack trace. Anyway, the crash happened right after I went to a web site that had lots (www.mtv3.fi) of flash adds on it, so this could be memory related as someone mentioned before... I'm runing 12.04 in a Virtual machine (VMware Fusion 3.1) on a macbook from October of 2007. I have allocated 1 GB of memory for the vm. Right after the crash I opened system monitor and noticed that almost all memory was in use and also 400 MB of the 500MB of swap space that the vm has was in use. I don't know if this helps, but this is all I can tell. If you need more info, tell me and I'll try to gather some. I'm not very familiar with all this, so I might need instructions on how to do it. -Jussi -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947278 Title: unity-2d-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in ref() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-2d/+bug/947278/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 579924] Re: Upgrading Ubuntu LTS skips database version - Fatal error: Version error for database "bacula". Wanted 12, got 10
Hello, Disclaimer: I don't have anything to do with LTS (other than I develop on a Ubuntu system), so I cannot resolve the Ubuntu problem. However, I suggest you download the source, either from the Ubuntu source or from Source Forge and look in the updatedb directory. It has all the scripts you need to go from one version to the next. Note, there may be more than one script that needs to be applied depending on what Bacula versions involved. In your case, I imagine you must apply the 10_to_11 script, and then the 11_to_12 script, so that the database will be upgraded from version 10 to 11 then from 11 to 12. The text in the script tells you what Bacula versions the upgrade corresponds to. Best regards, Kern On 04/19/2012 10:21 PM, Martin wrote: > I am a litte bit surprised: Bacula is NOT an universe package and a LTS > to LTS upgrade is broken (8.04 to 10.04). [Bug 209513] Re: After upgrade, "Update standard folders to current language" threatens to rename your home folder
Yup - running PP beta, just restarted from updates, and I got this same question, with the same really weird renaming ideas. [Bug 828307] Re: Can't get out of fullscreen mode when two or more apps are fullscreen
I just posted https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/985865 .
