[Bug 1010891] Re: package tftpd-hpa 5.2-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: Unterprozess installiertes post-removal-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück
Indeed, it looks as though the postrm script does 'rmdir --ignore-fail-on-non-empty' but that still raises an error when the directory does not exist, so should be '|| true'. This bug was raised against version 5.2-1ubuntu1 of the package, which has the following: rmdir --ignore-fail-on-non-empty ${TFTP_DIRECTORY} /dev/null 21 || true That's the only 'rmdir' in that file. So I'm pretty sure it's not that. It could be the deluser problem that ignik points out. [Bug 1048485] Re: [ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE, Realtek ALC898, Green Line Out, Rear] fails after a while
Took a while for the issue to reappear. The length of time that it occurs is random. I've been able to watch an entire movie without issue. Other times it won't last a song. Once it occurs, I have to open the sound control, switch to stereo and back to 5.1. The issue is program agnostic (vmware, chrome, rythmbox, system sounds). Killing pulseaudio (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio/Log) fixed the corrupted audio as well. ** Attachment added: pulseverbose.log https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1048485/+attachment/3680085/+files/pulseverbose.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1048485 Title: [ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE, Realtek ALC898, Green Line Out, Rear] fails after a while To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1048485/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1024383] Re: update-grub generates only BIOS based menu entries for Windows, even on UEFI systems
On Fri, May 17, 2013 at 3:17 PM, Phillip Susi ps...@ubuntu.com wrote: We're not going to support having both installed at the same time and using the same config. You need to pick which mode you want to use and stick with it, not flip flop every other boot. Upstream grub has done a lot of work to make sure that you *can* have support for multiple platforms installed and in use at the same time, with the same config. That is why the single grub-install and grub-mkconfig scripts are identical no matter what target you build grub for, which allows distributions to package them (and other files) as common files, and platform specific files as separate packages, all of which can be installed, and used, at the same time. It's why modules were moved to /boot/grub/$arch-$platform (so that grub-install can be run multiple times with different target platforms without modules for the other platform being clobbered). Ubuntu allows grub-pc, grub-efi-ia32, grub-efi-amd64, grub-coreboot, and all other platform packages to be concurrently installed, and they work in such a configuration. In fact I would go so far as to say that upstream's opinion is exactly opposite yours: I don't expect that any patch would be accepted which would hinder support of having multiple platforms installed, all using the same grub-mkconfig generated grub.cfg, without a *very* compelling reason. -- Jordan Uggla (Jordan_U on irc.freenode.net) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1024383 Title: update-grub generates only BIOS based menu entries for Windows, even on UEFI systems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1024383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1181457] Re: USB HD interface does not appear after reboot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1181457/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 714492] Re: nodm screen may not show up depending on plymouth and tty
For me on 13.04 an alternate workaround was to configure /etc/default/nodm to start on vt8, although this leaves plymouth active on vt7, whether or not the splash option is on the kernel command line. After removing the indicator-appmenu package, the GnuCash menus are looking correct; after reinstalling the problem appears again. When creating a new user, with indicator-appmenu package installed, the menus look correct for the new user, and for my old user ID they display the wrong text ('Convert', or 'Umwandeln' in German) for all Import and Export menu entries. [Bug 482200] Re: /etc/cron.daily/apt: Cache has broken packages, exiting
I solved this problem in the following way: My root file system (ext4 which contained both /var and /usr) was low on inodes, but not free space, so monitoring didn't complain. You can check this by running `df -i` (as opposed to `df -h` which shows free space in human readable format). To fix the low inode count I removed old linux-kernel-* and linux- headers-* packages. After that everything started working. This means, at least for me, it was NOT A BUG, but the error message could be improved. Or maybe motd could warn about low inodes in addition to low space. Btrfs allocates inodes dynamically and doesn't suffer from this same problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/482200 Title: /etc/cron.daily/apt: Cache has broken packages, exiting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/482200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
