[Bug 1459046] Re: nova-* services do not start if rsyslog is not yet started
Hi Martin, Yeah. This an SRU fix for trusty. It doesn't affect later releases, as newer releases use openstack juno/kilo which doesn't have this problem. [Bug 1406802] Re: Vivid Unity Wallpaper horizontally hashed
I run standard Ubuntu and am not familiar with MATE. A couple years ago I may have tried it briefly in another Linux distro. I forget. Months ago I tried Lubuntu which as I remember didn't have the "hashing" problem. I think it uses LXDE. There's Kubuntu, Gnome, ... however many variations of Ubuntu.I've tried NEXT a couple of times but it didn't do much so I don't know if it has the problem. Now there's "Snappy" I' ve no clue what desktop it has or just command line?. I use "out of the box" Ubuntu U+1 looking for bugs that would be applicable to the most (?) users. "Unity" has had lots of bugsincluding this one.. How is MATE installed? Can I switch between Mate and Unity desktops or do I do an install? How is MATE removed after testing it? example re-installing standard Ubuntu or just starting Unity? Thanks. BTW, my impression this bug is closely tied to xserver or to how Ubuntu Unity is using xserver. I have other pc's with different hardware and different video chips that don't exhibit this problem. This Lenovo M58p has an Intel 64 bit dual processor 3 GHz and is the fastest of my pc's. All is not great with 15.10 on the other pc's example an Intel 32 bit 3 GHz Compaq which has annoyingly slow video with 15.05 and 15.10 but 14.04 video is quite usable. [Bug 1459149] Re: keyboard and mouse not responding at login
By installing kernels using .deb packages I have learned that the issue is resolved between kernel 3.13.2 and 3.13.3. I will now try to reverse bisect the commits in between these kernel version (which I have never done before). As a side note, I could not test the issue in kernel 3.13.1; I got completely different behaviour: after a low-res xubuntu splash screen, the screen became garbled, after which it became completely green. The system hung completely (I needed to hold the power button to switch it off). This issue could be reproduced. I don't know if it is important. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459149 Title: keyboard and mouse not responding at login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1459149/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1456184] Re: NVidia VGA freeze with new kernels
Perhaps there is a misunderstand here: the PC was already updated to the last available BIOS version. If there is a but in the BIOS, than that bug is not going away. BTW I have a friend of mine with a laptop with AMD CPU and more or less the same NVidia card that had similar problems resolved in the same manner: installing the 12.04 generic kernel. When (if I can) put my hands on that laptop I'll send a complete but report for that too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1456184 Title: NVidia VGA freeze with new kernels To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1456184/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1459685] Re: please merge curl from debian
Hi Martin, after some research I found they were added for bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xmlrpc-c/+bug/831496 there were both .install and .links files, after a while they became symlinks, and after they disappeared between 7.29 and 7.30, so far before trusty. Since we are in the early development, I proposed to sed them out and see if any regression (unlikely) is spotted. @mathieu, what is your opinion on this matter? do we really need the two empty packages? ** Changed in: curl (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459685 Title: please merge curl from debian To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/curl/+bug/1459685/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I couldn't find this on the Linux kernel-bluetooth mailing list. I went ahead and subscribed and submitted it (accidentally sent it twice). [Bug 1460265] Re: Suspend to RAM fails: (0 tasks refusing to freeze, wq_busy=1)
al, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. If the test did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where XY and Z are numbers corresponding to the kernel version. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. [Bug 1356892] Re: the buttons "minimize, maximize, close" in caja desappear
I can confirm this happens on Ubuntu Mate 14.04.2 32 bit with Compiz enabled. I am using an ASUS board and intel i3 quad core and an AMD Radeon R7 200 GPU. I am using Ambiant Mate theme with Faenza Dark icon set. But, I can also confirm this happens irrespective of theme used. This problem seems to occur irrespective of whether a window is in focus or not. Or, at least, once I have noticed it, it doesn't matter if the window is the active one or not. The minimize, maximize and close buttons are gone and stay gone. That is to say, they are not merely greyed out. They have disappeared. The only fix I have found for it is to go to mate tweak, change from Compiz to Marco, then immediately back to Compiz and the buttons re-appear. However, the problem reoccurs within around 15 to 20 minute on average. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1356892 Title: the buttons "minimize, maximize, close" in caja desappear To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1356892/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1460284] [NEW] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 22s! [kworker/u16:5:142]
Public bug reported: Kernel has been upgraded from 3.13.0-49 to 3.13.0-53, several minutes after the first reboot with the new kernel I noticed high wio while syslog was filling with messages listed below. [Bug 1389849] Re: sudo service lxc-net restart does not reload dnsmasq when there is a container running
Hi, In the "/etc/init/lxc-net.conf" file, in the "post-stop script", shouldn't the bridge be stopped before removing it? In the "pre-start" section you have: ifconfig ${LXC_BRIDGE} down || true brctl delbr ${LXC_BRIDGE} || true but in the "post-stop" you only have brctl delbr ${LXC_BRIDGE} I noticed this because an error message is logged in one of the specific logs. Re: [Bug 1351380] Lintian crashes with "undefined value" if deb lacks intermediate directories
On 2014-08-01 18:23, Stian Soiland-Reyes wrote: > Public bug reported: > > If I create a deb with install4j that installs to /opt/test/ - then > lintian crashes: > > [...] Hi, Thanks for the report and the following analysis of the problem. Should you run into future crash issues with lintian, please consider filing the bug against lintian upstream. I have applied a few patches upstream for this issue: * [f89954f] - Fixes the crash * [4d6bb4e] - Adds a warning for not having intermediate directories These are scheduled for inclusion in lintian 2.5.32. * I am not maintaining the Ubuntu package, so I /cannot/ comment on whether this will be fixed in / backported to your current Ubuntu release. > > [...] > > However no special case is done for the missing intermediate > directories, and the above does not initialize. > > Adding so it ends with: > > $idxh{''} = \%cpy; > $children{''} = [] unless exists $children{''}; > } > > Fixes the problem: > > [...] This indeed avoided the crash. However, it would leave the path structure disconnected causing several checks to report incorrect results (in particular in Lintian/2.5.28). Therefore I have solved this differently by constructing all missing intermediate directories (see [f89954f]), which also trivially allowed for us to discover/report the missing intermediate directories. Once again, thanks for the report and the following analysis. [Bug 1437492] Re: boot stalls on USB detection errors
The issue still exists in some form. Usually if one or more USB error messages appear, and you wait, they disappear now, and the boot proceeds ok. Sometimes however, like if you press a keyboard button before they disappear, the issue remains. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1437492 Title: boot stalls on USB detection errors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1437492/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
