[Bug 1638695] Re: Python 2.7.12 performance regression
Hello, I am in the process of verifying this performance regression on a 16.04 Xenial machine using the kernel Linux-4.4.0-38. I ran a locally compiled python 2.7.12 version built with different versions of GCC, 5.3.1 (current) and 4.8.0 both coming from the Ubuntu archives. The benchmark suite I am using is the pyperformance suite (https://github.com/python/performance), I am running the full test suite, using the following command: $ pyperformance run --python=python2 -o xxx.json According to the latest test run i did using Python 2.7.12/GCC 4.8 (using GCC 5.3.1 as the baseline), 50% of the tests (32/64) have a significant variance in performance from which 19/32 are slower (in times ranging from 5-15%). Just for information, I am comparing results using the following command: $ pyperformance compare python-2.7.12-gcc-5.3.1.json python-2.7.12-gcc-4.8.0.json I am attaching here the current comparison results for analysis. ** Attachment added: "comparison-gcc-5.3.1-gcc-4.8.json" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python2.7/+bug/1638695/+attachment/4778622/+files/comparison-gcc-5.3.1-gcc-4.8.json -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1638695 Title: Python 2.7.12 performance regression To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python2.7/+bug/1638695/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1639202] Re: Cannot enlist/commission machines in MAAS 2.1 with usb network adapter
Please ignore the comment from brad-figg as the above comment originated from a bot. That being said, I've had a bit of an opportunity to research this. Initramfs-tools is responsible for updating the initramfs and including modules in the initramfs. Unfortunately I don't think that adding usbnet and cdc_ether to the default initramfs produced by the distro is the correct course of action on this case. That being said, it may be possible to create the maas images with all network modules in it as that would make more sense, in my opinion. I guess this is why Andre originally opened this against maas-images. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1639202 Title: Cannot enlist/commission machines in MAAS 2.1 with usb network adapter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1639202/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1640939] Re: help
Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Your report should contain, at a minimum, the following information so we can better find the source of the bug and work to resolve it. Submitting the bug about the proper source package is essential. For help see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . Additionally, in the report please include: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'cat /etc/lsb-release' or System -> About Ubuntu. 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'dpkg -l PKGNAME | cat' or by checking in Synaptic. 3) What happened and what you expected to happen. The Ubuntu community has also created debugging procedures for a wide variety of packages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures . [Bug 1642366] Re: idk what this is
Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Following the debugging instructions for the affected package will make your bug report much more complete. Ok, gnutls backport "complete" although we should jump on gnutls 3.5.7 whenever it gets released IMHO. [Bug 1642068] Re: snapd memory sizes grows huge over time
@Colin, Sure it definitely needs to be improved. As I said above, this is just a cheap way to get us going, and the proper fix is a transactional storage on disk. @Mark, Yes, we can prune based on number of changes as well. It's not expensive. That's a good trick to get us going farther. @John, 2MB / (10 tasks * 180 changes) is in the ballpark of 1kb per task. That's not unrealistic I think. Also worth noting it's not just plain data.. there will be a small amount of additional garbage created per entry when processing it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1642068 Title: snapd memory sizes grows huge over time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1642068/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1642568] [NEW] URL gets truncated when ctrl + clicking if partly visible
Public bug reported: Reproducing --- 1. Start gnome-terminal. 2. Type enough to activate scrolling (eg. hit enter about 24 times for default size). 3. After leaving the system overnight now just redid it to try this and it actually stopped the system but then failed to start it, so the following error is from the system failing to restart the container. root@mist3:/var/log/lxd/repo2# lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS Release:16.04 Output of “lxc info” (*) root@mist3:~# lxc info apiextensions: [] apistatus: stable apiversion: "1.0" auth: trusted environment: addresses: - :8443 architectures: - x86_64 - i686 certificate: | -BEGIN CERTIFICATE- MIIFjzCCA3egAwIBAgIRAOzxMWhdSQ6vsB1TdN78U3kwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQELBQAw MzEcMBoGA1UEChMTbGludXhjb250YWluZXJzLm9yZzETMBEGA1UEAwwKcm9vdEBt aXN0MzAeFw0xNjExMTYxNjM0MjNaFw0yNjExMTQxNjM0MjNaMDMxHDAaBgNVBAoT E2xpbnV4Y29udGFpbmVycy5vcmcxEzARBgNVBAMMCnJvb3RAbWlzdDMwggIiMA0G CSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4ICDwAwggIKAoICAQC5mWbzTP23LbBhlcImNJbThMLF7apy sd1q7xel/6Ot2WUmJYdXBK54R9KplMEY8zqjvLbGqwZopqcSc4FaIs3mg1bmpL5o OZVzTjMC6oENV1dGIvLJp5zKHusZNnBLAFCkGuk43O0OozC+ylEFMM8nAlkAq9tI fEZD8JvS0Fs5kT0t8xNg6g1Q6osqN32OPmG3+3ZRCukpxrrsv4cuxYIpWqq84s4u zGiQJd8wIr1ZOZTTCv3X+a8qmDFuxfyXVMg3pkujIahWAB8yaK+tYQVr/xp2iF40 yjmB8YlcXxiUQ5FsYd9S9Lghx+flAy2XkEL/YHFkRo2hKkfTC4x3S60PqQfHPBOt LkjUZ4UGM8zocub2W5jznoI5rv9nfO31VpzanKj62vyZsNQCrXG1LYPKaa6jJ6Sb IkyBeqxjRLh9c/JMk+i9oymXyZSSWz8XHd6U129vX0i8EvNHbPScM0Q9UukHk3Ne lX2D95AL0FQn4lz27oRBDVmVGzpW5YIRzDLxd7noVK2YCda7Sk8LUs8xID7/fQQe COeAZ1H5j6lneCGugAkABjRlOQQVz6ISrZdsgWfYyo9E8G61FQ5/pZTLTT/Oq0tw o2MDpEJuva515/TqzACkMx352oYa7ZKT3u88jBIIhAWVR7p3H0OWYE6X7QKx4J2h GUKZRLVeTiEo/QIDAQABo4GdMIGaMA4GA1UdDwEB/wQEAwIFoDATBgNVHSUEDDAK BggrBgEFBQcDATAMBgNVHRMBAf8EAjAAMGUGA1UdEQReMFyCBW1pc3Qzgg8xNzIu MjkuODkuMTcvMjSCJTIwMDE6NDFjMDpjMDo4OTplYzQ6N2FmZjpmZWFhOjEyZjIv NjSCG2ZlODA6OmVjNDo3YWZmOmZlYWE6MTJmMi82NDANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQsFAAOC AgEAGmNVUxnqO598hzX6+RRmirEu0mQAxu6L+ruNGHY4fh/YCObB80TO31UESs6c krIAnLMfeLKdEtB5KNYAmq/Pf84YuRou/iDob5VszBmCEeGd7vXl7siWUWRbfra9 6uDurpG5rxnyPyfVmF/w+LvpXEG/5CQV0YzAOdKX5h+w3QEPfb2q1B6X+eDXBwAZ zVpdo0EmNxwL7wjjPgA8uFSGX4u7W+mGuYScrbLydiQQbiNmJj6GtPP+wSvO4m8l O8HRGhuGMW1fNuaRrZ/z1OO7Z2zVzfvbYZqfcEWt7e7Dz+EryEhoPXu8mhRM2hNt FMeFgTp06xkMU6blJ520a9onbIiXSY3bkOSsRK9X+wKlU3m65+3/x3v9oYP1chf+ Q59qSZG61iVum5bLmFxaG6SuRL6HeYMWbTyO5rSP3NUDrfdhhpppZGfE3aXl5TwS S7KK8K9ESbdwBYZztfHaXE3AWlbpUZtABcGSasTrPzAxUU7+89tpD2tvOEC61n6S ntOwlhXn3cE5ztggYoQM+9w4o9PyBFTu7n32BedfWKbDequ8fFQgkjRdULbhl9O9 ZN9cFZ2l94+k9FK4MehD62rK4ITDvQgRs/ZUA4N3bkUgQPKrzjucJiOUyScrzOOl tcqu+IP15gsz/2+jaF+4UrtcBis39qlqHz79/SGnMgX5XVM= -END CERTIFICATE- certificatefingerprint: 97fe7f57020eea6747de7229ab2eec579dd87ec5794c850c3824cf0effca9ee0 driver: lxc driverversion: 2.0.5 kernel: Linux kernelarchitecture: x86_64 kernelversion: 4.4.0-47-generic server: lxd serverpid: 16876 serverversion: 2.0.5 storage: zfs storageversion: "5" config: core.https_address: :8443 core.proxy_http: http://www-cache.rd.bbc.co.uk:8080 core.trust_password: true storage.zfs_pool_name: zfs_pool/lxd public: false Output of “lxc info ” root@mist3:~# lxc info repo2 Name: repo2 Remote: unix:/var/lib/lxd/unix.socket Architecture: x86_64 Created: 2016/11/17 10:56 UTC Status: Stopped Type: persistent Profiles: single-interface Output of “lxc config show –expanded ” root@mist3:~# lxc config show --expanded repo2 name: repo2 profiles: - single-interface config: environment.RSYNC_PROXY: http://www-cache.rd.bbc.co.uk:8080 environment.http_proxy: http://www-cache.rd.bbc.co.uk:8080 environment.https_proxy: http://www-cache.rd.bbc.co.uk:8080 volatile.base_image: b9cba741ef621f14e6e8c306c7f87637a59d7d09c1a3ec8ef717ab0d6e43430a volatile.eth0.hwaddr: 52:54:00:1d:59:a0 volatile.last_state.idmap: '[{"Isuid":true,"Isgid":false,"Hostid":427680,"Nsid":0,"Maprange":65536},{"Isuid":false,"Isgid":true,"Hostid":427680,"Nsid":0,"Maprange":65536}]' devices: eth0: name: eth0 nictype: bridged parent: br-lxd type: nic root: path: / type: disk ephemeral: false Output of “dmesg” (*) See attached tarball Output of “lxc exec ” This shows nothing due to container no longer running Output of “uname -a” (*) root@mist3:~# uname -a Linux mist3 4.4.0-47-generic #68-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 26 19:39:52 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux The content of /var/log/lxd.log (*) t=2016-11-17T11:00:02+ lvl=info msg="Shutting down container" name=ns1 action=shutdown creation date=2016-11-17T10:56:58+ ephemeral=false timeout=-1s t=2016-11-17T11:00:03+ lvl=info msg="Shut down container" name=ns1 action=shutdown creation date=2016-11-17T10:56:58+ ephemeral=false timeout=-1s t=2016-11-17T

[Bug 1638373] Re: End marker/start marker drop-down menus are empty

running 16.04.1 Fujitsu Lifebook E752 single head. no screensaver that i know of. i don't use locking, but when returning from sleep the screen is locked. so far, most of the times the pw-field is there, but not usable. i also think that there should be icons in the top right corner and a clock maybe? the space is empty. just now i had a case of pw-field missing altogether. found this bug. did not find any newer bug, so i post here. initially recovered with workaround "unity --replace" which made the PW- field show up. i could unlock the desktop, seemed fine. now desktop totally screwed up: alt-tab unresponsive, launcher missing, top-bar missing, whole thing looks funny. mouse works, can use scroll-wheel and mark text in a left-over, fullscreen terminal, but not type.. put computer back to sleep, woke up again, now got a gray box that says "Chris" (my username) "Password", a field and button s switch user and unlock. never saw that before. might be because i tried to use described locking procedure (ctrl-alt-l) which was suggesting to fix some things, which did not seem to work. typed PW, screen went away. back to screwed up desktop. keyboard seemed useless. noticed that ctrl-n opens file-browser. works repeatedly. with those windows open, i can use alt-tab to switch between these new windows. browser, netbeans, thunderbird (should all be still living in the background) are not presented. task-switcher looks funny, too. just a row of images and a box around the middle one. used file-browser to start a video. worked. can now use alt-tab to switch between file-browser and videoplayer. i am a noob. if you need something, tell me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311316 Title: After locking screen there is no input field to type password for unlock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1311316/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1632451] Re: Cant refresh snap after disable, enable packet.
I can reproduce this with the 2.16 release of snapd. It looks like its loosing the "snap-id" on disable/enable. However with the 2.17.1 release available in xenial-proposed and yakkety-proposed this bug is no longer reproducible. The fix is part of the 6930f996dc7fd42a1ca610fe0fcfa1b7a20f24c9 commit (sideinfo got dropped on Enable). ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1632451 Title: Cant refresh snap after disable, enable packet.
