[Bug 1568625] Re: Sope does not appear in Ubuntu store

2016-04-17 Thread António Lima
There are 20 scopes results in the News and Magazines department in the
store. In uappexplorer there are tens though...

The scope in question does not show, only in searches. I guess what you
say about the dash only accepting a certain number of results is
probably the reason this scope and many others don't show.

Public bug reported:

Hi developed a scope which does not appear in the phone's store scope, although
it shows in uAppExplorer.
https://uappexplorer.com/app/esquerdanet.amrlima

Using the search feature in the store it's possible to find the scope
but does not show when browsing the news and magazines category.

The scope is built against 15.04 framework and installs properly.

Phone: bq E4.1 with OTA-10.

With karminc alpha4 there is big improvements. The fan is much quieter
then with the older driver. Is there a way I can have real numbers
testing the two drivers?

Anyway, my fan is much much quieter now. The system is usable with the

[Bug 165091] Re: [needs-packaging] mercury instant messenger

2009-06-27 Thread António Lima
It could only be packaged if there was source and license available
(although it wouldn't be the only non-free stuff in Ubuntu :) ) . When
almost 2 years ago I reported this I knew very little about packaging
and didn't check source or license. Some moths ago I browsed my reported
bugs and saw this one. Then, I tried to contact the application authors
about the license and where could I get the source but never got any
answer.

[Bug 351186] Re: [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled

2009-05-08 Thread António Lima
@Martin, I see you point, the free drivers should really be the ones to
get most of the attention. Anyway, one of the big problems the ati and
radeonhd drivers have are the lack of power managment for some laptops
(mine included of course) and that makes the fans spin like crazy all
the time even when temperatures are quite low. I think having no 3D for
some cards is really not a show stopper, but the lack of power
management is the one thing that makes me use fglrx. Well, at least
there's a fix :).

[Bug 373669] [NEW] No power management with ati driver

2009-05-08 Thread António Lima
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

With my hardware - Mobility Radeon 3400 (RV620) - I have no power
management with the opensource drivers, both ati and radeonhd. The

speed as needed by the system.

[Bug 107981] Re: Portuguese (PT) translation needs serious review

2009-03-09 Thread António Lima
Gcompris translation was totally reworked last weekend by the Portuguese
GNOME translation team. The new translation is available in GNOME svn
[1]. Note that this was a request of gcomris main developer, Bruno
Coudoin in gnome-i18n. The reviewed translation was included in the new
gcompris version released earlier today [2].

I don't now what will be the Gcompris version to be available in Jaunty
so maybe it will be necessary to manually import the translation in
order to fix it for jaunty.

2009-03-03 Thread António Lima
Looking at the attachments in this bug report, I noticed that an
attachment was not flagged as a patch. A patch contains changes to an
Ubuntu package that will resolve a bug and this attachment is one!
Subsequently, I've checked the patch flag for it. In the future when
submitting patches please use the patch checkbox as there are some
Launchpad searches that use this feature. You can learn more about the
patch workflow at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Patches.

[Bug 330594] Re: Bug ethernet SIS 64bit version

2009-02-20 Thread António Lima
António, can you attach these log files?

  uname -a uname-a.log

  cat /proc/version_signature version.log

  dmesg dmesg.log

  sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log

These four files should be attached to the bug report (not pasted into
comments, as it makes things harder to read, and formatting is
completely broken).

dmesg.log is already attached so only the other 2 are missing. Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. If I understood, you are saying that the instructions in
Ubuntu documentation are not correct, or don't mention how to connect to
the internet using a 3G modem such as the Huawei USB modems? This is
true in Ubuntu 8.10, the documentation is not up-to-date with this kind
of devices.

Are you also not able to set up an internet connection with your modem?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make
Ubuntu better. As you said you are using a software package that is not
provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this the Ubuntu
project can not support or fix your particular bug. Please report this
bug to the provider of the software package.

Sound problems with skype and pulse audio are common. You can check the
documentation on the link bellow that provides some information on how
to solve some problems with audio and skype.

[Bug 301926] Re: Crash/Freeze When using bit torrent client and other random programs

2009-02-17 Thread António Lima
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will

I found a debian bug asking to package this application. Unfortunately
there hasn't been any activity there since 24 Aug 2006. My packaging
skills are still very limited to go for a new package so lets hope a
more experienced packager takes the step. But I must say it's tempting
:).

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How
to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html.

The menu entries you are talking about, do they all show in the main
menu or in the menu editor (alacarte) only? If they only show in the
menu editor can you pick 1 of those duplicate entries, check their
properties (Properties button) and post them here?

Thanks!

Sync with Debian should be the better solution. As I said before I think
it would be good to have 1.9.x in Jaunty, it would make many translators
happy :). Maybe adding something to the package description saying its
still beta software would also be a good idea.

[Bug 292253] Re: Gtranslator is too old in Ubuntu, please upgrade it

2009-02-10 Thread António Lima
Emilio,

from my personal experience the current gtranslator version in Ubuntu's
repositories is almost unusable for translating po files. It lacks
features and it has happened to me that it adds extra characters to
strings, so its very buggy. Between having that and having a beta
version which looks quite good already (I've been testing for the past
weeks) I would prefer having the beta.

Maybe it would be a good idea to ask gtranslator developers if a stable
release or a release candidate will be released sometime before jaunty
feature freeze. I can do that if you want since I'm subscribed to
gtranslator mailling list
