[Bug 897495] Re: Conky 1.8.1 does not work with apcupsd

2011-12-02 Thread Brian Derr
I agree that a "downgrade" patch isn't ideal, but as you mentioned the
bug report upstream hasn't really had any traction for some time. That
is what prompted me to request a new release of the debian package.

[Bug 711646] Re: openbox system wide debian-menu.xml error

2011-11-28 Thread Brian Derr
I can confirm the error and that the symlink described in the
description "fixes" the issue. The file is on my file system and has
proper permissions. I am not sure why it isn't being read properly and
haven't had a lot of time to debug it fully.

[Bug 897495] [NEW] Conky 1.8.1 does not work with apcupsd

2011-11-28 Thread Brian Derr
Public bug reported:

In attempting to setup conky and report information about my UPS battery
I discovered that there is a known issue with 1.8.1 and apcupsd. I found
a patch on openSUSE message boards: http://forums.opensuse.org/english
/get-technical-help-here/how-faq-forums/unreviewed-how-faq/464737-easy-
configuring-conky-conkyconf.html#post2380907

I applied the patch and compiled the source and can confirm that it
works.

[Bug 397806] Re: cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize!

2010-04-21 Thread Brian Derr
I'm seeing very similar issues to those already posted with some slight
differences. Brasero and nautilus both do not recognize blank DVDs,
burned DVDs or packaged data CDs. I am running a 2.6.32 kernel which
according to other similar bug reports has fixed various CD/DVD issues
but not for me. I also have brasero-2.30.0-0ubuntu1 installed which is
greater than the 2.28 which I have also seen in other bug reports as
having this issue.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is missing. Could you please
upload (as an attachment) the crash report that you received? It will be
found in '/var/crash/'. If there is no crash report found then please
include a backtrace. You can find more information about backtraces
here: http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash. This will allow us
to better troubleshoot your bug. Thanks in advance.

According to bugzilla this was fixed in version 1.8.1.2, feisty has

fixed upstream and in gutsy I am going to mark this as closed.
