[Bug 674666] [NEW] sky2 network card stops working
Public bug reported: Two different computers with sky2 had the same issue with the network card. The network card stops working. Doing an ifdown followed by an ifup seems to work, but there is no network connectivity after doing these steps. I had to use another ethernet port (which uses the skge driver) to restore connectivity. The bug report from ubuntu-bug -p linux should hopefully be attached to this report. Since revtex4-1 ships with Ubuntu, the old emulateapj.cls is useless. The problems the original reporter mentions with emulateapj.cls are mostly resolved by the latest version. [Bug 349363] Re: firefox renders popup menus and images under images
This is consistently reproducible at visitdirectair.com, and also at capitalone.com How to reproduce: 1) Visit http://visitdirectair.com 2) Click on the button to select a date 3) calendar popup appear under the flash animation to the right of it. This also happens at capitalone.com with the dropdown menus, so it does not look like an isolated problem with the visitdirectair.com website. To reproduce: 1) Visit capitalone.com 2) Hover the mouse over the horizontal menu items on top. 3) Menu dropdowns are occluded by the flash animation below them. This is not a firefox problem, since Opera on Ubuntu Hardy with the flash plugin behaves in a similar fashion. None of these problems appear when testing with Windows Vista, and Firefox. Changed the bug to be attributed to the flashplugin-nonfree package. Does Adobe have a bugtracker for their flash plugin that this bug can be upstreamed to? My search yielded nothing. Please let me know if you know the right way to forward the bug upstream and I will. [Bug 97682] Re: bcm43xx firmware not available - bcm 4318 wireless card not working
I am rejecting this bug, since the apparent problem was that the bcm43xx-fwcutter had to be installed, and the firmware obtained and cut before things would work right. Thanks to crimsun for pointing me in the right direction. Ideally, the firmware cutter should have been autoinstalled on installing Ubuntu, and the firmware obtained and cut, but I understand some people prefer ndiswrapper over this solution, and so it is left to the users choice. [Bug 75781] python-psycopg: Missing dependencies? (libc6, libpq4)
Public bug reported: This bug was originally reported using reportbug. Filing by proxy. The contents of the original report follow: From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Ubuntu Bug Tracking System [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: python-psycopg: Missing dependencies? (libc6, libpq4) Date: Thu, 07 Dec 2006 16:27:48 -0800 X-Mailer: reportbug 3.21.2ubuntu1 Package: python-psycopg Version: 1.1.21-7 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable It seems there are a couple of serious missing dependencies: libc6 and libpq4. Though libc6 will already be availble due to other package dependencies, libpq4 may not. This leads to an import error like: import psycopg ImportError: libpq.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Probably related, python-psycopg's description says: Description: Python module for PostgreSQL [dummy package] But this is NOT a dummy package. This package contains the module! It seems like there was an incomplete package migration. This can also cause an upgrade from Dapper to Edgy to break an existing system's psycopg support. For example, if 'aptitude dist-upgrade' is used to upgrade from Dapper to Edgy and libpq4 is marked as automatically installed (from being automatically installed when python2.4-psycopg was installed), then libq4 will be *removed* as being no longer in use. Afterwards, the import error above will happen and the applications using it will fail. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers edgy-updates APT policy: (500, 'edgy-updates'), (500, 'edgy-security'), (500, 'edgy') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-10-server Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages python-psycopg depends on: ii python 2.4.3-11ubuntu3 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-egenix-mxda 2.0.6ubuntu1-1ubuntu5 date and time handling routines fo python-psycopg recommends no packages. -- no debconf information ** Affects: psycopg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- python-psycopg: Missing dependencies? [Bug 46778] Re: prompt required in terminal box
Assigning this as an update-manager bug. In short - Update Manager should provide visible cues whenever the user's input is required during the upgrade of one or more packages. The visible cue can pop up on top of the running applications, or be indicated by a blinking update manager icon (in the tray), or at the very least, the progress bar in update manager should stop moving, and there must be some text in the update manager window that indicates the need for user input. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Sourcepackagename: None = update-manager Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed -- prompt required in terminal box https://launchpad.net/bugs/46778 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 39402] Re: [madwifi] not recognising wireless card on install from live cd
David, I am closing this bug since it looks like a duplicate of another bug which has since been fixed. If you still have this problem with the Edgy RC1 cd, please reopen this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Status: Unconfirmed = Fix Released -- [madwifi] not recognising wireless card on install from live cd https://launchpad.net/bugs/39402 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 43455] Re: if the power cord is removed after starting sleep, before the laptop is asleep, it hangs on resume.
Robert, Do you still have this problem with the Dapper 6.06.1 livecd or, better still, the Edgy RC1 cd? If you do, could you please copy the /var/log/acpid file after a failed attempt at using any acpi function? You can also attach the output of dmesg and the /var/log/messages file after booting up. Thanks in advance. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Sourcepackagename: None = acpi-support Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- if the power cord is removed after starting sleep, before the laptop is asleep, it hangs on resume. https://launchpad.net/bugs/43455 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 66574] Re: Does not honour gtk-button-images=0 setting in .gtkrc-2.0
And why would this be rejected? Please keep this open till the problem is fixed. I probably shouldn't have reported this small bug, but now that I have, closing it without addressing it seems wrong. Setting this to confirmed since it has been reproduced by others on #ubuntu-bugs. I can install it just fine. This alone does not mean this is not a bug for sure. -- Verbiste is uninstallable in edgy amd64 https://launchpad.net/bugs/61217 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
