[Bug 910796] Re: lightning-extension 1.1 (precise) is not compatible with thunderbird 10.0
Hello all since Thunderbird is replacing Evolution, special care should be taken that users have continued access to their calendars. Too often, new Thunderbird versions in the repositories break compatibility with lightning (or gdata or timezone), making calendar data unavailable to users. Unfortunately, we've been observing this in previous Ubuntu Versions, also. As long this is the case, Thunderbird cannot considered as full replacement for Evolution for production environments One might address this by always ensuring that the combination of thunderbird+lightning+dependencies is fully functional before adding new versions of Thunderbird to the Ubuntu Repos. I understand. I will have particular attention on future problems with stable and let you know. Back to the issue. Having a fully functional and tested calendar available is crucial when positioning ubuntu versus win/outlook. Lightning/calendar is not just another add-on but an important component of todays linux desktops as soon as one decides to omit Evolution. Delivering a 12.04 beta without calendar is no option anymore. As you choose to introduce a Thunderbird beta I'd suggest to include the appropriate nightly build of lightning. [Bug 614274] Re: modem-manager fails to recognize 3G modem after suspend/resume
Hello all, please note that problem still exists in natty / modemmanager 0.5-0ubuntu1, although since the latest update it looks as the modem is recognized automatically some minutes after resume. So workaround is still required: have a script or resume rule killing modem-manager - it will recover by itself, recognize the modem, ask for the PIN and make the modem available in network manager. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/614274 Title: modem-manager fails to recognize 3G modem after suspend/resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/614274/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi all, I'm doing a lot of installations these days and encountered this problem several times, with plain ubuntu installations of 10.10 as well as with remastered ubuntus containing all fixes per today. It is difficult to reproduce, but it is best being forced entering country names: use german language, proceed to keyboard layout page, enter 'SCHW' - selector jumps to SCHWEDEN, now enter 'SCHWE' for Switzerland - content in the right selection box is stucked displaying swedish keyboard layouts. No way out. The same happens when when language is set to english: press 'SW' - then 'SWI' ... Please have a look at this, it might be very annoying to new users. [Bug 497804] [NEW] locale=ch support required for livecd
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: uck Hello I'm seeking for full support for locale=ch to build a localized Remix. This report might affect one of the following packages. - uck 2.0.10 and before - gfxboot-theme - console-setup / preseeding I've been studying all the scripts, config files and includes, did a lot of investigation and testing but could not spot the area where to address this properly. It appears that any kernel params are getting overwritten by gfxboot (locale= bootkbd= console-setup/...=). The requirement is: - start live environment in german/french/italian/english language (from gfxboot) with german as default - have swiss german keyboard ([ch]) per default options: - hide other keyboard layouts from gfxboot menu except the ones of interest (ch, ch_fr, uk) - reassign default settings if locale=ch: # German language - ch layout # French language - ch_fr layout # Italian language - ch_fr layout # English language - ch layout Any hint how to achieve this? [Bug 363976] [NEW] Brother: Top of first page is not printed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brother-cups-wrapper-bh7 Printing used to work well with Hardy Heron. Since upgrade to Jackalope, there is a problem - the same with new installs: On the first page, there is about 2 cm of the document missing, Printing starts immediatly at the border and the whole page is shifted up by these 2 cm. Same behaviour with Open Office, Firefox, PDF viewer. The documents themselves are fine and can be printed correctly from another workstation. [Bug 328575] Re: Cannot start gnome-terminal bcause of gconf error
Hello Folks, I just encountered this problem during LiveCD Building with Ubuntu Customization Kit. I used Xubuntu CD image as base so far, always worked well - now with 9.04 rc / Ubuntu Edition this problem comes when selecting 'run console'. If unsolved, LiveCD building with UCK is jeopardized, unless the scripts get patched with a workaround as mentioned above. Will dive deeper now, just fyi.
